I can't believe I just realised this but the kids and the parents both win. If the kids won then the parents would also get access to the money and vice versa Whether the parents let them keep the Money or not is a different question.

While it's a good thing he ultimately does for these people that participate and I'm sure the people don't mind, there's something off/unsettling about watching people compete for cash in the Mr Beast format. I can't quite articulate it, or put my finger on it. It just feels like it has a dystopian undertone to it. lol

@@TheDestineyy unfortunately, I don't watch them... Barely watch tv tbh. However, I will say tho, from what I've seen - clips (which is very limited), I still retain that there is a slight nuance that separates those and this.
Like I said, I can't really put my finger on what ultimately is the main contributing factor is but, in a Mr Beast format, there is the squid game type element to it - not the death or gore, the use of psychological "button-pressing" and use of "desperation" of the players. Comparatively, afaik in game shows, it's usually about physical/mental ability without the influence of the "hosts/game masters" as the game unfolds.
If I were to summarize, those game shows it feels like you win money as a by-product of winning the game (like a race to the top) however, this feels like you go through things (seemingly based on the feelings of the game master) for the sake of the money (race to the bottom).
This is just an attempt to reason out a potential proof point. It's by no means as bleak as my description hence why I said "dystopian undertone". Furthermore, I'm not that exposed to other shows so this might be par for the course. At the end of the day, like I said, it's probably all fine, it's just how I perceive it - games in the Mr Beast Format.

@@Nemz Yeah I get what you mean. I think another thing with Mr.Beasts format is that he has to make content that keeps people watching and keeps the viewer retention high. It’s not an easy thing to do so which is why he has to create plot twists in his videos which I can’t even keep up with half the time since the pace is way to fast for me. Like if I look away from his vid for 10 seconds and start watching again, I won’t know what’s going on
