Great interview which has cleared up so many questions surrounding this impressive visa. I just got mine and all my concerns answered now via this interview. This video hopefully gets much more views. Thank you for the upload.
I've heard that some people who recently queried an immigration officer about the extension financials were told that the 500K funding had to be in a Thai bank. Whereas some initial visa applicants, probably most applicants were able to show the funds in a foreign bank. Can you ensure that the funds for extension can be in any bank anywhere, because it's extremely difficult to get a Thai bank account without a Non Imm visa.
Thank you to the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs for the explanation. We, as a digital nomad community from Turkey, want to apply, but the female officer which is a Turkish national answering the phone at the Royal Thai Embassy, Ankara, Turkey is acting offensively toward Turkish citizens. I heard a female applicant cried because of her comments, and another said she threw his passport at him, saying, "Complain to whoever you want." She’s a disaster and doesn’t deserve to represent a peaceful country like Thailand. She is not answering questions, just talking ugly and offensive.
As someone who holds the DTV, spent tens of hours researching it, and is currently in Thailand, my feedback: - Mr. Ninnad also gave an interview with 'retired working for you' some time ago, and there's very little new information in this latest interview - You neglected to push him on why anyone would bother extending (with all the up to date docs) when they can simply exit Thailand and re-enter - And when exiting, how long must the person be outside of Thailand for, as that too has been hotly debated - One massive, blatantly obvious oversight: you didn't ask if 90 day reporting was required on the DTV
I disagree, lots of info regarding internal extensions, the choice is up to the visa holder whether extend or make a fresh entry, there is no mandated exit re-entry time limit outside Thailand, 90 day reports are mandatory if staying inside the country 90 consecutive days.
As a member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the deputy general is quite clear regarding the DTV visa as he also was in a previous interview. However, if you speak to immigration officials at the office in Bangkok, they do not have such clear responses regarding extensions and future document requirements for the DTV. And it is my understanding that it is ultimately the Immigration Bureau that has the final say for each case. Let's see what happens when the first group of people who were awarded DTV visas 6 months ago apply for extensions or leave the country and return in the beginning of 2025.
Many applications take X days to process at an embassy/consulate abroad, if they have a flight that departs before the approval is granted can the applicant leave the country they are applying at and go to Thailand, enter visa exempt for example before the visa is approved and upon approval bounce out and enter with the DTV? Or must they stay in the application country until the visa is approved?

@@spiritedguy2 I'll repeat what I said before: no new information compared to Mr. Ninnad's previous interview.
