The application of this chapter is interesting because I think even the succession of priests was corrupted even before Jesus. In Kings and 2 Chronicles when Jeroboam doesn't want people going to Jerusalem to worship at the Temple and comes up with his 2 gold calves and makes his own priests for the Northern Kingdom and the northern kingdom never seemed to get away from the worship of false idols. Praise Jesus for being a high priest that we can always come to. I still give so much credit to Moses. I think anyone of us in modern day if we were told to lead a huge nation of people to a land and we made 1 simple mistake and we were not allowed to at least enter into it when we got there, then we wouldn't be happy to keep doing the work of whom told us to lead the people. Yet, Moses not only tried to keep leading a group of rebellious people, but he would go on to teach their sons and daughters the commandments and laws of The Lord and still led them there. Moses really loved his people even if this chapter discusses him being angry.
This chapter made me sad and upset at the same thing. Moses and Aaron worked so hard to get to the promise land and all that hard work went to waste because he smashed the rock and not talk to it ? Then they weren’t denied passing through land ? But I don’t understand they got the water so why was God so upset ?
I think God was too hard on Moses & Aaron here, the people do nothing but bitch & moan with Moses and here he’s reached his limit and he finally snapped
God bless you for the work you're doing
