They didn't, but at least they're making a remake to its sequel (idk if it is a sequel) Mario vs DK Which is the exact same thing, but with toys and switches (and without Pauline)
Yeah, I'm familiar with the sequel, I played a bit back when DK 94 was released for the 3DS VC, I really liked that kind of game, I'm hopeful they'll release the GB one on the Switch sometime.
I don’t know either but this comment made me consider something else - if this exploit were ever to be run live on actual hardware (which sounds absurdly difficult to do, depending on how many CPU cycles occur between incrementing the checkpoint index after reading the Up input and the step where it is zeroed back out) then the slower clock speed of the Super Game Boy would presumably grant the runner a marginally larger of window of time to perform the resets.
@@LCOmusic "how many CPU cycles occur between incrementing the checkpoint index after reading the Up input and the step where it is zeroed back out)" It's an 11 CPU cycle window. A CPU cycle is roughly 1 microsecond (more precisely it's 1.048576 microseconds). The marginally larger window is practically meaningless considering the insanely small amount of time (instead of 11.534336 microseconds you have 11.8124996 microseconds)
I get that this is a TAS and they're trying to finish the game as fast as possible, but a part of my brain considers it a sin to skip over any part of the game. DK94 is a joy front to back.
This game sure was something. "Here's a port of our little old four-stage arcade game. SIKE! WE ADDED LIKE A HUNDRED NEW LEVELS!"
Boy the GB loves keys and doors.... keys and doors.
This game is one of my all-time favorites, I really wish they'd add it to the Switch online catalogue.

And thus the Mario vs. Donkey Kong game was born
Before the March of the Minis took that series over
I like to see DK Jr at the ending, nice guy solid 20/10
donkey kong: NAWWWW I AINT TAKIN A LOSE
TAS Guy: *_insert speed here_*
I miss this game so much...
I had no idea this game had this glitch and i played for so long lol
my childhood 😢
save glitch now becomes faster way to beat the game
Nintendo: Gameboy Donkey Kong is a whole lot more than the original game
TASer: BAHAHA no it isn't
(7:09/7:10) - No way! The file selection glitched!
Save Yo Girl!
9:13 That sprite glitch , always wondered why this happen and why they didn't fix it.
Beheaded Pauline looks creepy
New record!
great work with the sram/reset abuse!
i wonder if this tas would still sync up if run on an sgb instead of gbc (clueless)

I always wondered why they made mario vs donkey kong a worse version of this

What is Athena Cykes doing in the intro lol
Oh I remember that game I played since 2019! 🥹 Ahh classic arcade game brings so many memories!
