- Things are starting to get serious with the work truck. We're getting a roll cage professionally installed! It even has swing out bars! Hey, sorry for the late reply! We chose not to put in a full halo, just because I drive it on the street a lot, and the halo would be extremely close to my head. If I ever went with a halo/dash bars then it will probably only be used on the track. Thanks for the support, I appreciate it. Good luck with your build!

Need harnesses, fuse, motors, regulators.
Already have the harnesses, still need the door panels and switches. If I do the swap, I'll probably buy new motors and regulators.

Get racing seats, you won't pass track inspection with those. Swing out bars and seat crossmember are too low. Those have to be shoulder level or no more than 10 degrees below shoulder level.
Hey, I plan on getting new seats. Not sure which ones though. That cross member is just for strength/support. Once I get the new seats and put them in the truck, I'll weld in the harness bar portion. That way its within the proper measurements. The swing out bars im not super worried about. The closest track is 1.5hrs away, so I don't really plan on going that much. Thanks for the support! 🤘

Nah man. You gotta sell the truck, get a white crew cab standard bed 2017 (because the seat belts are in the B frame), and start your build over. The seats and center console come with it. I'll help you change over what's under the hood. Lol.

Sweet progession on the black truck!!! I have a Question for. I'm I serch of two parts on my 03 silverado. The parts are for the driver side an passenger side door. I need the cowl for each side? I'm not sure about the part name. I think it's the cowl? Would know we're I could get a set? An do you know th part name?? Appreciate you sir 🙏😎

what was the reasoning for putting a "cage" in the truck? without the rear bars, it will have no NHRA certification usefulness.
Hey, I switched to racing seats and 6 point harnesses. I was never a huge fan of the leather bucket seats, compared to the comfortable cloth seats. I didnt do a halo because I do drive this truck on the street alot, so I'm not too worried about NHRA rule. The cage was built by a company/driver that does alot of nhra racing though. My new setup is a built 6.0/4l80e/AWD on nitrous. Should be around 600hp, so still not crazy yet. This is an older video, and at the time is still used it for work, and didn't want bed bars taking up useful bed space. Plus I knew I was selling my old fleetside bed for a quadrasteer bed and didn't wanna ruin it with holes before I sold it. I'll probably add bed bars like next summer or winter.
What part number was the nain hoop? I'm only seeing the 4 point into the bed.

on the single cab silverado... How many inches forward did it set ur seat? How tall are u? i have the exact same model truck & am thinking about doing the same roll bar add on (for crash purposes). BUT LIKE U, I WANT TO AVOID BEING UNCOMFORTABLE ON LONG DRIVES. Please write back. Thanks!
Hey, I wanna say it moved the seat forward about 2 or 3 inches. I have a really relaxed posture, so I always had the seat a little more reclined with the headrest touching the glass. But once the cage was in, I had to sit the seat up more (better posture) so it would push my hips back. The biggest issue I had, was my feet were to close to the pedals and it would kill my ankle. It made it uncomfortable to drive on longer trips. But since this video, I already sold the factory seats, and swapping in a set of corbeau FX1s. Just waiting on the custom AFP seat brackets to get here. They have a really thin back, and are decently comfortable for racing seats. So im excited for that. But hope all that helps. Just make sure the cage gets up high and away from your head. I also wouldn't do a halo, unless its a designated drag truck. Where a helmet will protect your head from hitting the bar.

@@saldana0001 for sure! The black truck is kinda on hold right now. Building the 6.0L and waiting on the Frankenstein heads, tourqe converter, and the seat brackets. They all should get here soon though. But I'll make sure I film it 🤘

Hey, yes same kit. The swing out bar kit, cost extra. But I'd just give S&W a call. Super helpful and friendly. They can add bars or take away whatever you dont need. They even have a 10 point cage with a halo avaliable

What’s the price for one of these plus the cost of installation??
The pre bent cage from S&W was like 300-400ish. And it was about 800$ welded in, installing the door bars, and the outriggers off the frame.
