Quick heads up from a guy that owns several semi trucks with C-12’s - no need to stress over the wastegate. The majority of guys that own them kink the wastegate line so it doesn’t open with no ill long term effects. Furthermore, the aftermarket turbos made for a C-12 are non-wastegate turbos. Great engine; run the overhead and if/when you get coolant in the oil, check the water pump (plugged weep hole) FIRST.
I am looking at videos about this because I suspect the waste gates in my airplane are locked and I am not getting the turbo normalizer to work. Another person told me about Aerokroil. Waiting for it to come in the mail..

That's good to know thanks! This truck only makes 21lbs of boost so that seems super safe
Hey buddy, I tested my waste gate and it begins opening at 5psi and full open at 20 for me
Thanks. That's good to know. It seems low when compared to modern diesels. The C15 is around 35-38lbs stock.

Does that engine have a mbl serial number?
No all the MTVR trucks have a 9SM serial number. From what I understand its the same as a 2KS
@@micahadams2 dam I have a mbl engine with the same issue and trying to find a turbo replacement where I don't have to flash the ecm
Mine only makes 27psi of boost so the waste gate isn't really needed. I think it rusted shut because it has never made enough boost to open

@@truebengalsfan I use all cat filters and Delvac 15-40 oil. The oil doesn't get changed much because the truck isn't a lot
