I was there playing this one... Im so happy I was born in the best time possible, to see all the industry rising from this River Raid level to monster graphic engines today... Its like the industry was growing up just like me... constantly bringing something new to the table...
I used to love this game vanguard,demon attack, it was so many great and new things in the Atari days😂 I even had buck Rogers on the old Coleco Adam computer😅
If you've ever looked into what goes into programming for the 2600, this game is practically miraculous. The original console had just 128 *bytes* of RAM, so Activision extended its capabilities by putting additional RAM in the cartridge. There is still an active homebrew community putting out stuff that would have blown our minds at the time.
Seems like fun! I hope that everyone who wants to play this gets around to emulating it so they can relive their childhood or experience retro games anew!

This game is hacked to be easier!... The pace of the obstacles is way slower than the original (just see the sound when refueling), while the pace of the player's motion is normal. 'Meaningless longplay'.

While I have to praise the armament of this plane, I have to critique its fuel efficiency.
Thankfully, a lot of kind strangers have left boxes of fuel at sea :P
