Hey Mazzy! I was a little nervous when you said "let's talk about Melinda Murphy." Lol. There are alot of places you could have went with that. I'm not on Twitter but I can use Instagram and my videos to put some heat on these businesses. I don't understand why Blue Note had this huge sale recently when they clearly can't handle the load. I bet the popcorn and mint chocolate are delicious. I miss going to the movies too. Happy holidays to you.
Hi Mazzy! Love Diamond Head--especially the spine-chilling vocal duet between John Wetton and Doreen Chanter on "Same Time Next Week." I appreciate your enthusiasm for the great Blows Against the Empire (neat colored vinyl). Cheers!
That record weight is something to behold. I love what he did with it. Glad you got the Rollins set. I think Milla did a few songs with Maynard on the first Pusicifer album.
@@mazzysmusic Ha! I can validate Rega's claims. I bought a nice Mofi record weight and burned out one of their new Mk II Power Supplies. I am back to using my Michel Record Clamp which I've had no issues with.
hey mazzy...good stuff all around....love that lou reed....i just want to wish you and the archivist and mr. bacon a very happy and healthy holiday season, and a tremendous thank you to you for all you do...peace always my friend...rocky
Mazzy, you and Melinda are the 2 powerhouses here, in my book. You both are extremely descriptive, informative, personable and just plain fucking cool!!! Much love from Chicago. Keep ‘em spinning! 😎🎧🎼 By the way, Garrett Popcorn is THE best. Great eats over here!!!
That Garrett popcorn is head & shoulders better than anything in a cineplex !!! I’ll book a trip to Chicago as soon as I can travel for pizza , popcorn , visits to Reckless , Rattleback records & others
Loved your pick ups from Daybreak Records. Diamond Head, a marvellous record and with great guests Eno and Robert Wyatt. Luv Steeleye Span too. Enjoy your booze n popcorn!
Been some delay but Nick Cave's Push the Sky Away is a great album. Caught a flicker of a smile when McConnell congratulated Harris as the country's first female VP. God Bless America.
I’m not sure if you’ve seen it, Mills Jovovich co-stars in one of my favorite movies, the unheralded classic “Dummy”. A unique part for her acting, singing wise and she’s awesome .. everyone in the film is!Happy Holidays, Mazzy.
I keep not grabbing a copy of Colossal Youth, and I agree it's fantastic. As for Melinda, part of me feels bad for her, and part of me thinks it's Karma paying her back for buying records at Walmart. 😉 Love the Breaking Bad record weight! You're right about large corporations only resolving issues via anti-social media; the public can't see your private email to them asking for help but when you post things publicly, it's a different story. Shouldn't be that way, but c'est la vie. (C'est la guerre?). Cheers, Tom
It’s mid December and I’m still waiting for my September order from the UK Blue Note store. They don’t ship partial orders, so I guess all the planets have to be aligned before I receive my order!
It takes me two hours to get through one of Mazzy or Michael’s videos because I keep stopping the video to go investigate each record and see if it’s on Qobuz to preview it. Sometimes it takes me two beers to get through one video. 😀
Love your show. Very entertaining. But the BRUCE LP looks nothing like Neil Diamond. :) I have a show suggestion. I'm listening to for the first time Paul Carrack's Suburban Voodoo (it's awesome). How about artists more associated with a band and their solo efforts. There are certainly some bad ones but plenty of good ones. Brian Fallon from Gaslight Anthem has a couple of brilliant records. Bob Weir's new blue mountain (with the National), Ray Davies' Americana (with the Jayhawks), Robbie Robertson's 1987 solo record, Don Henley's newer Cass County (love that album). Even Pete Townshend's very underrated Chinese Eyes.
Frango chocolates are a cult item from Chicago. "In the day", they were only available at the late retailer Marshall Fields dept store. Natives of Chicago fondly remember the downtown store from their childhood, especially the Chistmas-time displays. Now the successor retail organization company markets the candy. The feeling is different. I'm sure you can empathize.
Thanks Mazzy. Some nice UK folk albums. I thought that I sent three CDs, but I can't remember the third but you may have had your reasons. You forgot to mention that the CDs all had a San Francisco area connection. I did work for Sperry in Miami, hence the letterhead. They tweaked the corporate name one year and had to throw out all of the old stationery, so took home a box that was being tossed out. - Chris
Hey Mazzy! Love your vibe and insights to great old & new records. Today I was turned onto an old, forgotten, (but recently re-issued UK group) Trees. Are you familiar? The little I've streamed on Spotify sounds quite good.
Knowing that you are a great fan of British folk-rock of the 60s & 70s, I thought it might be worth letting you know about an upcoming release. Many will be unfamiliar, but I'm confident that you know of the work of Mandy Morton (The Spriguns of Tolgus / Spriguns / Mandy Morton & Spriguns / The Mandy Morton Band). The 1970s OGs are impossible to find & horrendously expensive. CDs are a bit sketchy, with a few unofficial Korean etc. releases, and even those are hard to find. But, there's a box set coming in vinyl and CD! This should contain pretty much everything they ever recorded, plus some live video tracks. I can't wait. On another RUclips channel I subscribe to, I saw an interesting Beatles collectable you might like to check out. In his latest video on his huge vintage Pan Paperbacks collection, Jules Burt shows the novelisation of A Hard Days Night, and reveals that he has the author, John Burke's original copies of the contracts for writing the book, and for a later reprinting. You'll probably not be that interested in the bulk of the video, but you may find it worth a scan through to find the bit where he shows those contracts. ruclips.net/video/Qtar4ObWGFg/видео.html
Lmao I had the exact same problem with the Richter album, hahaha. I just got mine also. I figured it took awhile for him to sign it. I got mine a week ago. I saw all the videos on the music and was wondering what the heck was going on.
Young Marble Giants is a really good record. The bonus DVD has peaked my interest. I’m getting the McCoy Tyner because it has color pictures. Christopher Kibler has something of everything except GG Allin. I’m thinking of getting a Rega. Your thoughts. Nice of Jeff and Steve to send the goodies. I didn’t know Gin was flavored Vodka.
And I thought that CD was for you. Or am I confused by the comment below me? I just found out I look just like an 80's Obi Wan toy figure. Except for the cape.
Hi Mazzy, That Sperry letterhead is an antique, that company hasn't existed since the 1980's when they merged with Burroughs (the office equipment company started by Wm. S. Burroughs father).
I just watched Micheals video on Kraftwerk and you need to work on your pronounciation. I love how he says "Kraftwerk!" The reissues are fantastic and look great. Happy Hanukkah Mazzy.

That record weight is something to behold. I love what he did with it. Glad you got the Rollins set. I think Milla did a few songs with Maynard on the first Pusicifer album.
Hey Paul. Do you use one on your Rega. I've read that Rega suggests NOT using them....

I love the Milla Jovavich album. I saw her in concert right after this album came out, in a tiny club in Denver, and she was fabulous.
Ugh... I just got the regular reissue of Young Marble Giants. Sounds amazing... Great album. I remember liking that Mila album.
Totally agree about the labels. It took ages and three emails to get my recent order from Blue Note U.K. love the Kraftwerk...ordered three today.

Mazzy is it possible for you to make your videos longer.
Lol. The problem is that the vids are too interesting so I end up watching the whole thing at the expense of spending time on my must-do activities.
It takes me two hours to get through one of Mazzy or Michael’s videos because I keep stopping the video to go investigate each record and see if it’s on Qobuz to preview it. Sometimes it takes me two beers to get through one video. 😀
Jon and I will be doing a video comparing Kiss and Radiohead.

I’ve thought of something similar. Maybe in the new year. Good suggestions. ✌🏽

Damn I forgot to show the Gram Parsons CD. It was in my CD player. Thank you again.
Young Marble Giants were great. I saw them along with DNA at the Savoy Tivoli in San Francisco back in the day.
Nice I saw them at the keystone
Mazzy, I never noticed your resemblance to Heisenberg but it's apparent on that record weight.
Hey Mazzy! Love your vibe and insights to great old & new records. Today I was turned onto an old, forgotten, (but recently re-issued UK group) Trees. Are you familiar? The little I've streamed on Spotify sounds quite good.
By record weight I think you mean record clamps. I didn’t have one but my dealer recommended it so I have one on order. It reduces vibrations.

just got a Rega P8 and am getting a weight as a Christmas gift..... oh dear.
Ha. Use to for your papers 🤓😎
Still waiting for my Sign of the Times Box .......
🥺

I ordered the Joni Mitchell albums from her site and still don't have them.
Well... I didn’t ask for you to advertise my brother’s cup company. 🧐😎🥸 Jeff is the best.
Hey Mazz,
I have the vinyl only of Yesterday and Today. Could you send me an extra butcher cover?
Thanks, and Merry Crimble.

Tweets do work.
Wondered... Your nickname Mazzy... You like the band Mazzy Star? 😆😎
There was a problem with distribution with the majors before the China Flu.
Yup. It’s a real shit show.
Why isn't the logo on that record weight your avatar?? It looks boss.
Hi Mazzy, That Sperry letterhead is an antique, that company hasn't existed since the 1980's when they merged with Burroughs (the office equipment company started by Wm. S. Burroughs father).
It sucks if you don’t have social media, though
The worst is Rhino. Run Out Groove takes forever. You preorder and they keep your money for six months.
you may or may not benefit from a record weight but hey mazzy loves you baby

No vlog on McCartney III?
It's coming up ;-)
Martinis use gin, well I thought it was vodka. Shows what I know. I just thought the bottle was pretty.
Many people drink vodka martinis too but I use Vodka for other cocktails and Belvedere is fantastic🍸🥃😎
An advertisement popped up right in the middle of you stroking your beard. Perfect timing. Was that planned?
That was interesting. I pushed the skip ads because the first ad was 5 minutes long. Sorry Mazzy. I know you need the money.
Appears a decent enough bloke, but might consider imminent Alzheimer's testing.
do you disgusted when you see a hot chick like melinda murphy?
You lost me at “I know there’s a pandemic but”
