    Good job. Everytime I do this I forget for the first post to start with the small end. Turns out better that way.

      Thanks! Starting with the small end first definitely helps give you a larger “target” to hit on the other end.

      How long does the cut log have to cure (sit and dry) before it will split this easily?

    Is it better to do this green or dried or somewhere inbetween?

      Honestly I’m not sure,this was my first time splitting rails. The log in the video was cut down around 15-20 minutes before I started splitting it.

      I don't think it matter much with cedar. Most old timers would work logs as soon as they drug them out
