- As I was volunteered to be sat nav and co pilot again 😆 by my girlfriend, as she did an exam in Bradford. So not one for turning down a chance to film, we were of lol 😆
Lovely area! Nice collection of northern trains!
Thanks mate 👍
Great video Pete. Good catches with the GB stone trains 👍🏻
Cheers, Ben. I missed out when I went to Skipton so I was pleased to get them at Keighley
Another great vlog Pete keep up good work 😄😄
Thanks, Mark. 👍 I'm glad you enjoyed it
I started trainspottintg at Bingley, three milesfrom Keighley towards Bradford, 84 years ago, when I was 7. The trains were alll steam, L&Y 2-4-2 tanks, Midland 0-4-4tanks and Midland/LMS 4-4-0 compounds mainly.
Fantastic bit of info, David. Thanks for sharing. I should imagine that it was a magnificent time and your memories of that time must be great. My Dad's from Skipton, so he knows the area well. It's funny because when I'm out that way, he always points out what used to be where and what it was like. Such knowledge of how things were is priceless. I love to hear about it.
Nice change, i was surprised how many trains there was. especially 3 freight trains, Nice to see Charlie trainspotting as well.
I have managed to get the Monk Bretton Sand train schedule, thanks for your help with that.
Thanks Ernest it was better than I expected, and the stone trains were a bonus. I'm glad you managed to get the sand train, mate 👍
Leeds to Lancaster is a lovely train journey, Northerns best kept secret ? Never much trainwise at Keighley, but it’s a decent place for a Beer, I will assume the k.w.v.r. Wasn’t running trains that day. Thanks a lot Pete.
Thanks Mate 👍 Glad you enjoyed it. I might give that a trip to Lancaster one day. Definitely no trains on the KWVR, unfortunately 😕
& the star of the show... Mr Charlie. 2 more stations to visit Keighley, & Bradford forster Square. Is the K.W.V.R next to the station. Thanks Pete.
Thanks, Tom. I'd say it's worth a visit. And yes, K.W.V.R. is literally the same place, platforms 3 and 4. I took some great pics of the old station. I'm going to go to the diesel gala fingers crossed .
Usually a busy spell on the Aire Valley around lunchtime. Normally 6D50 ex Dairycoates, 6D37 to Hunslet daily and 6M38 ex Arcow which is usually a couple of times a week. Shame there are overnight engineering works this week as 6E97 Dbs gypsum from Newbiggin is usually a lunchtime runner but this week retimed to late afternoon
Thanks for the info, David. I'm hoping to have another trip at some point, so hopefully, everything will be back to normal mate.
Great stuff Pete and nice to see you going further afield. I don't know about you though but i find those Northern trains all pretty bland mate...mind you they're a huge improvement on those old dmu's anyday. Great footage as always, cheers for sharing mate 👍
Cheers, Mate. I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍 I don't mind them tbh, and are a far cry from old DMU's 😅 definitely, lol. As there's not as much freight on the rails nowadays, it's a bonus to film them.
@@donnypete realistically speaking as i see it freight traffic should be huge but sadly it just isn't. The government are always ramming it down our throats about going green but still we saw thousands of lorries all over the place.
@Angus Mecoatup it drives me mad mate. I've not been to Hatfield for ages for that same reason. No coal is coming in now, so it's gone quiet. It's so sad. And to think of all that steel, what used to come out of Scunthorpe and all the coal....... the mind boggles. Sad times
@@donnypete back in the early to mid 70s Pete i was a rail shunter on the loco what was stationed at the plate mills at Scunthorpe works. Main line wagons back then were the order of the day with plates going not to just the UK but all the world, the place was a hive of activity and a very busy job it was too. Main line wagons were moving inwards and outwards 24/7. I can vividly picture the 08's and class 20's bringing the empty wagons into our sidings on a regular basis and of course our locos were regularly taking out full wagons of plates to the main line sidings. Then of course there was the same happening with sections and coils. Never again will we see those days repeated again sadly 😡
@Angus Mecoatup fantastic insight mate cheers, And definitely never to replace them again them times. So sad 😞 . What has gone wrong with this country 😕 😠 😡
ทำไมถ่ายทำแต่แถวสถานี ดูแล้วจำเจมาก น่าจะถ่ายทำที่ไกลๆ จะได้วิวที่สวย และดูดีขึ้น
