They can be used for illegal purposes like jamming a wireless alarm system. Then there is the life/death situations like jamming a 911 call. Also some equipment affected could cause a lot of damage/deaths if they malfunction. For example sensors at a chemical plant could lead to a cascading events that no one had ever planned for. Years ago a newly installed radar caused a fuel pipeline to rupture. Every time the radar swept the electronics controlling a valve, it caused it to cycle leading to a hammering shockwave and eventually resulted in the structural failure of the pipeline. Often something broadcasting a RF has unintentional consequences. I read recently of how the Internet for Aberhosan, Wales would quit like clockwork every morning about the same time. This went on for 18 months until they tracked down the cause. Every morning a man got up to watch the news on an old TV and he unwittingly knocked out the broadband feed for the whole village.
Why would anyone get one that blocks a huge range. You could do some serious "work" as a chriminal, with one that only has a 5-10 foot blocking range. Say you're going to steal some heavy equipment. They put gps trackers on those. Well if you has something with a range of 5-10 feet. You could put it in the seat of the equipment to block the gps signal and worry about finding the actual gps later. Hypothetically..........
It's about signal strength. If you want to be absolutely sure you're jamming the signal you want to jam, you want to ensure the jammer is emitting a high enough amplitude to overpower the signals you're trying to jam. A strong signal will be more powerful, and thus easier to detect from a longer range.
Hi there My lovely neighbour some weekends plays his music loud after 9 pm after few strong tea cups Do you think if there is a device to block his music at all! Thanks
They are illegal to use. The issue is you dont know where your RF is going it could be interfering with anything. In a farm most likely could be aircraft in the area and they do not have to be close if it is an open area.
That is the effective range over the ground. Most VHF and UHF is line of site. For example using a vhf or uhf handheld which is low power you can talk to the international space station. You can do this because there is nothing in the way. The same applies for airplanes
Not just the space station. America’s airborne command planes have both VLF and UHF for communications with the land-based and sea-based nuclear missile crews! The VLF is much slower than a 14k internet modem, but it’s enough to transmit a launch order.
That stingray device the police use can do so much more than just find your location.

Same goes for police scanners and radios
They shouldn't be
5:03 full video on why tin foil hat is superior to a jammer please
HA. That is hardly a fair comparison, tin foil hat trumps all.
@@Brains933 wow this videos done well! Congrats on 50 subs.
@@Lendon8 Yeah can't believe it. over the moon with this one.
BoomerangTKO absolutely class 😂
It's interesting how you know so much about this stuff to me, what's your background?
I studied Electrical Engineering and worked with radios and RF for around 7 years and now I work in IT.

Tonight is one of the most harassed nights I've ever had on RUclips. I've never seen anything like it before..
Pssst! ("Lets blame him for the things that other people do")
I am a simple man. I see a tin foil hat. I sub.
I shall endeavor to put more tin foil hats in future.
Jammers are illegal cause you cannot get help if your ever in danger or your Neghbour
You make no sense

Oh i needed that good laugh
one of the few that wears a watch on their right arm
Apparently it's a left handed thing
Yup. I'm a left handed man and I also wear a watch ony right wrist
What if I got one that jams up to 90 meters? I stay in the city 🌃
Still illegal
Hi there

Thanks
if he is streaming yes, if hes got tapes, LPs or casettes , then no
If he needs WiFi, he uses a Bluetooth speaker system, or listens to the radio...Sure. but if he puts a compact disc into a boombox, then nah

Hello Reddit, thanks for all the views :D

Na kogoś sobie zamówię na aliexpress. Wiem że mi paczki wszystkie sprawdzają 👍
Well are they illegal to buy, or to misuse? I live on a farm and would only play with it to block my own WiFi etc. I can’t jam my own stuff?

Hmm. There are so many sites selling jammers that claim to only have a 90m - 150m effective range tho. That shouldn’t impact planes 5 miles high?

Well they’ll pass over in a couple of minutes and be out of line of sight again so maybe they’ll just have to deal with it.
