Dude, I really feel for you... what you've been going through, so unfair. You seem like a really cool bloke! Keep your chin up Brother, love from England x
The man on stage introducing the reverse brothers is Comedian Tony hawks who appeared in the previous two seasons as the voice of the vending machine and he appeared in the episode Better than life and the voice of the suit case in statis leak in season 2. He was actually the warm up comedian for the studio audience, but was given small roles in the series
thanks for the video, Interesting fact here, the series creator and writer Rob Grant can be seen standing on the street with sunglasses smoking a cigarette backwards in this, at 7.04 in this video you will see him.
They did originally write a script covering Lister’s pregnancy, but dropped it as they feared the episode would be too homophobic. As for the changes to Holly, the actor who played him was let go, due to disputes of wages. And they just recast him with the story he simply had a sex change due to his feelings of affection to Hilly.
@@TheReactingMan Actually spoiler, the old Holly returns at the end of S7, is a regular is S8. makes a guest appearance in S11, and in the Red Dwarf mini series. Red Dwarf; The Promised Land.
Actually, they let go of Norman Lovett as he moved to Edinburgh and he thought it would be too much of a commute to Manchester, where the show was made. What I don’t get is why they didn’t decide to keep him and pre-record his contributions in the BBC’s Glasgow studios then ship the tapes of him speaking to camera down to BBC Manchester to be played into the studio recording.
@@stickytapenrust6869 It's because to do his job well he needed to be at the set to rehearse and perform directly with the cast. Also the show at this point was still filmed in front of a live audience and he wouldn't be able to work around the laughter if it was pre-recorded.
I remember thinking this episode is why red dwarf was better SF than Star Trek. Star Trek tries to be internally consistent and so its science is whatever was established in earlier episodes even after actual science has moved on. In red dwarf you can play with current science. This episode was based on a Stephen Hawking idea. He later dismissed it, we can move on and that’s fine. (It may have been dismissed before the episode even aired but that’s not the point)
Actually he left because he had met his wife and moved to Edinburgh and didn't want to commute so much to rehearse and just wanted to turn up for the recording only, and Paul Jackson the producer didn't like that, he wanted Norman for rehearsals in Manchester also. Eventually he agreed to Normans request just to appear for the studio recording only but for less money and Norman of course wasn't happy and dropped out of the show. He says he regrets his decision to this day.

Thanks for the info
Tony's best known for his excellent autobiographical novels, including Round Ireland With A Fridge, well worth a read. @@TheReactingMan
Great to see you back mate!

cool
“Unrumble!” Is one of my favourite lines on to ever.
Are you ok man??
Amazing how they crafted a world like our own with its distinctive rules by simply reversing recorded footage and splicing in forward elements.
Ya especially in the 80's when they didn't have the
Technology we have now
Glad to see you back pal.
Thanks
Hopefully I can get back in the groove soon
15:11 This is a bit of an easter egg for those how can play it forwards.
Ya Zvimur posted a link with some of the backward scenes played forward
in the comments
@@TheReactingMan Ah, I didn't notice. But thanks, I haven't seen it in years. Edit: Wait a minute, it's not here.

@@stickytapenrust6869 Yes he had his own show, I Lovett, which I quite enjoyed he co-wrote with Ian Pattison who created Rab C Nesbitt.

That is one of the things I like about the show is that the science is mostly accurate
Love this episode seeing late 1980s Manchester
Welcome back. Wondered where you got too! Need more Breaking Bad 😀
thanks
Breaking Bad isn't the most popular show on my channel
but there will be a new one comming
@@TheReactingMan Really? I thought it would be hugely popular.
The last episode got 115 views in 2 months
I am still going to keep doing them but its not really a top priority
Rimmer seems more normal than I remember.
He seemed very tolerant when Kryton ejected him
maybe he is mellowing
@@TheReactingMan Yes, and he wasn't playing the pompous idiot that I've seen him play usually.
yeah i've always felt he mellowed out after series 2
The Original Holly was a serious West End actor he want back to the Theatre
That's too bad
Holly was a very funny character
