Something that stands out to me is what he said about the music from video games. He says that he would have never thought to bring it up with his fellow staff members because it didn’t seem to translate well into the drum corps context. However, that’s not really the case. The Blue Stars had a production in 2005 entitled “Pixelation: The Music of Final Fantasy” which, as the name suggests, has music from the Final Fantasy games. Yes, the musical styles of Final Fantasy, being mostly orchestral, are vastly different from those of Streets of Rage or Pokémon, being more techno or computer-generated, but video game music *has* been put on the field before. Almost 20 years ago in fact.
First! I’m excited about this one! I love the Romantic Era!
The show reminds me so much of Cabaret Voltaire!
I usually have to play videos at 1.25x speed because people often speak too slowly for me. But not with Brian! 😂
