Because of the significant delays, Metro is not happy with CRRC and is not going to exercise the option for additional cars that would’ve eventually replaced all the A650s. The base order of 64 cars will just replace the original 30 oldest A650s and serve the new Purple extension. It’s going to be years before the eventual HR5000 arrive and replace all of the A650s.

Oh something I just thought of, I hope they aren't making each train a less number of cars... That was something about the Regional Connector i despised was the "plan obsolescence" where the Platforms underground are only capable of 3 (smaller) Tram (light rail) cars, without a way to add a 4th or 5th car to the train in the future, because it would literally require more digging to expand.
All the light rail stations are basically designed for 3 cars from the start . The only exception is the Green (C) Line which uses two cars. However, Metro has said the platforms will be expanded to accommodate 3 cars because of the future connection to the LAX APM and the K Line. BTW, the two subway lines have always had longer platforms and trainsets compared to the light rail lines.
@@mrxman581 well the subway cards shown are just two which I’m sure is just them moving it around I was just saying I hope I ordered enough. And the platform extensions are not for the full C line.
