Pasadena Sub RailVideos
США
Добавлен 24 окт 2015
I record 4K videos of trains in Southern California. I do most of my work in 3 areas, Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, and the Inland Empire. Trains of all kinds are found here, including Metrolink, BNSF, Amtrak, Union Pacific, and LACMTA Light Rail.
My channel was created to document the Pasadena Subdivision, the historic Santa Fe route into Los Angeles, and remains a core focus of the channel. I like to record places and operations that not many people know about.
In addition to my work on the Pasadena Subdivision, I record at dozens of more places, such as Downtown LA, the Crestmore Branch, San Bernardino, Pomona, Cajon Pass, Redlands, Covina, Kaiser, and many more found in the playlists.
Common subdivisions and their associated branches in my home territory I record are:
SCRRA River Subdivision
SCRRA Pasadena Subdivision
SCRRA San Gabriel Subdivision
UP Alhambra Subdivision
UP Los Angeles Subdivision
BNSF Cajon Subdivision
SCRRA Shortway Subdivision

Просмотров 2,5 тыс.4 часа назад
In December 2023, the Metrolink River Subdivision's West Bank Line underwent significant upgrade work as part of a systemwide shutdown of the Metrolink system for work. However, Amtrak into Los Angeles wasn't cancelled, and instead ran on a modified detour route, taking it on a bypass of LA Union Station along the east side of the river, and down the Alameda Corridor for a maneuver to get the S...

Metrolink's Holiday Express Train made two round trips between Vista Canyon Station, to CP Santiago (just south of Vincent Grade/Acton Station), on Metrolink's AV Line this Holiday Season. Running as special service numbers M298 and M299, it was a large 9 car set with an F125 locomotive on either side. The engineer of this train was surely in a festive mood, blowing the train horn to the tune o...

Today Metrolink ran their Holiday Express Train on the San Bernardino Line. Today's train ran from Redlands Downtown to Rancho Cucamonga, but i decided to catch all of its runs on the Redlands extension of trackage due to no good shots of Metrolink being possible on this trackage normally due to the inconvenient timing of the usual express trains. Today the train operated as M399 and M398. I ca...

UP 1375, one of only 3 GP40P-2s ever built, had recently been released from it's post at Anaheim for several years, and soon found itself working the various locals and yard jobs in the Los Angeles Area. One such assignment it found itself on this particular day was the LOW10, the Torrance Local. Today I chased the job all over the Torrance Industrial Lead and on the El Segundo Industrial Lead ...

In the Rathole! Union Pacific's YJY68 J Yard Switcher, Vernon, CA 12/12/2024
Here's another chase I did of the YJY68, the J Yard Switcher. Today it had work on the two industries of the Alameda Industrial Lead, both which are owned by Sweetener Products, one of which is located in what is known as a "rathole" which is an old LA railroader term for tracks passing inside tight spaces inside or between buildings. I started off at J Yard, where they headed lite down the lea...

Today I chased the two Union Pacific local trains that originate out of Fourth Street Yard, LOW10, and LOW20, also known as the Torrance Local and the El Segundo Local. I started off waiting for these trains on the Union Pacific Wilmington Subdivision at Vernon Station in South Los Angeles. Before the locals came, the Gardena Rock Train passed, RWCWCG, taking an empty set of hoppers back to Cab...

Here's some winter railfanning I did along the BNSF Bakersfield Subdivision mostly in and near Bakersfield, CA, but I also went up as far as Shafter and Wasco. Today wasn't the busiest of days, but lighting was very pretty with a thin veil of clouds above and soft sunlight. Today's catches mostly consisted of Amtrak San Joaquins trains with plenty of F59PHIs, including the Comet Cars set which ...

Today I returned to the Union Pacific Crestmore Industrial Lead to chase one of my favorite locals, LOB34. The power for today's job was unusual, where it was an SD40-2 & SD70M combo, with the SD70M having a K5LLA airhorn commonly found on SD70ACe locomotives. I chased the train the entire duration of its run. As of the uploading of this video the SD40-2 has been stored at West Colton for month...

3:38-4:37 Did the Crown Valley Road railroad crossing in Acton get its original mechanical bells reinstalled by any chance? The latest Google Street View images from January 2024 show the crossing still had electronic bells, a Safetran Type 2 and a WCH Type 4. But now the video shows the crossing back with its original mechanical bells, WCH and Safetran (fast ringing).
9:40 GTA moments
great video ❤❤😍😍
14:54 i like the little lrt race there lol. great catches!
Have you ever railfan donnar pass
Great video
A lot of the paint graffiti is a work of art.
What a shit hole that city is
Trainz in da hood...
Quite interesting no graffiti on the loco engine numbers
10:04 I can barely see my bus.
I can’t imagine coming to a crossing at night and seeing this beast run past … 😂
Be Careful with Surroundings in This Area
Where's Kurt Russell ... looks like the set to "Escape from L.A." Hope the photog had a bodyguard.
Where in africa is that? The loco is beautiful. The camerawork superb. Thanks
That’s la california
@GeranoDc Iam shocked..though this was Somalia or ghana
License spray paint ALREADY !! Pay 1 time $20 fee (toward cleanup) at DMV for laminated card. Must be 21.. Present it at paint supplier...Not 100% perfect. But it would cut tagging way down..Been saying this for 10 years now..
Excellent Colin, great variety!!
Does anyone know when the rail line in Northridge will be double tracked?
No plans atm they are primarily working in Simi on that corridor
I had heard that they were planning on double tracking in Northridge but tabled the plan in 2015. I wasn’t sure what had happened since then.
Bro locomotives aren’t safe down there-
It low key looks Hideous
Awesome man. Love the so cal 2:17 railfanning action.
I've been to Third World countries that look better than downtown Los Angeles. How can California politicians brag about how much they spend on making California safe, welcoming, and ecologically sound when every location in this post screams about all those wasted tax dollars.
people will see shit like this and still go to california on purpose kek
Great video, how do you exactly where each train is coming from or going too?
제한속도를 위반한 정기관사 정씨에게 금고형이 확정되었다.
Ok
Great video
Looks like Squidward from spongebob.
Thomas the Tankless engine?
Whoever did the front of the loco did a good job
Bro why does the face actually look good
Cleanest Union Pacific locomotive in California:
Bardzo fajny film kolejowy relaksujący 😊❤🎉
Great Video! My wife works right there where you were filming
wow, what a scummy city
5 months late but the engineer in the first train flipped you off
The only way i could tell it was Union Pacific is from the title.
that engine looks like shit.
California is worse than most third world countries.
Lots of Trash
Tu vídeo pudo haber estado mejor si lo hubieras dejado continuo, sin tanto corte de edición cuando solo estás mostrando las maniobras en ese patio y no de distintos trenes.
UP cops apparently need to lay off the donuts.
This looks like the beginning of a sci-fi movie based on a future dystopia society. And cut
Why are liberal city's so beautiful and inviting .....
This yard is where all of my Amazon packages disappear.
This is So Rediculious out of Ppl, It's So Childish And Crazy.
@@thomashubbs-bg3cu Learn to spell.
Why such a large loco for shunting?
Modern boxcars are huge and heavy, old switch engines are about obsolete most have been retired / scraped.
@@24zer0nd Ohhhhhh thanks, makes sense
Must be fun to show up in the morning to discover what's been done to this engine overnight!
yeah nose job done right!
Great catches and videos. It seems like LA has an endless supply of Railfan locations. I have a question for you if you don't mind. I'll be in the area next week and will have a few hours free + a car on a couple of days to railfan. I was looking to check out Redondo Junction and the UP West Colton Yard. Do you have any parking suggestions or other areas that are within 30-60 minutes of downtown you think are worthwhile? Thanks for any information or suggestions.
For Colton the Pepper Ave Bridge is my go-to, plenty of room to park on either side of the road just try to keep your car out of the way of the trucks that use the road pretty often. Redondo I don't use a car and ride to, it's too sketchy for me to leave my car unattended when i'm filming. If you want a good alternative to Redondo, Commerce is right next door, and the station is pretty peaceful + you get a lot of BNSF yard action and switching. Main Street where I filmed here is good too just keep your car within line of sight. If you're in the mood for more passenger trains and a more laid-back place, check out the Burbank Downtown station, it's one of my favorites right outside of LA.
@PasadenaSubColin thank you for the great information and tips. I really do appreciate it. Let me know if you have any other recommendations or if you'll be out and about at any of the locations next week.
Sure! Any questions more just ask in this thread and I’ll get back when I can.
@PasadenaSubColin thank you. I really do appreciate it.
the single bombardier bilevel in the middle bothers me lol. At least its perfectly centered in the consist!
