I just went through the description on your channel. Yes, you're definitely up there with Theishter and Animenz! Your channel is gonna blow up one of these days, you play beautifully!
A very big fan of 5 centimeters per second here. This is no doubt my favorite OST in the whole movie. How crazy it is that this cover flew right under my radar. Your cover is very beautiful I might add. Quality content right here.
What a beautiful rendition you play of this theme composed by Tenmon. 5cm per second is one of my most loved animated movie by Makoto Shinkai. Thank you for sharing. You do honor the composer with your way to play it.
i agree with this description, this score can be played with a lot of styles. In this, i love the void you make between phrases. i can feel that reverberation... I cant find the word that express my mind so i can only thank to you. THANKS!! P.S. i recommend you to come to japan just for seeing sakura, it really fits this...
Thank you so much for delivering such a wonderful performance. I was searching for this, and the algorithm was in my favour. The exact tempo that I was looking for, not much improvisation, stick closely to the original and filled with emotions. I will straightaway practice this piece once I get back home this weekend.
This is very soothing! It sounds alot like music from The Sims! Haha and best part is that I can manipulate the music from the game, I will be sure to add this piano to the my game and enjoy it while building a house
My absolute favorite movie. This piece was so beautiful. I've learned the End theme and One More Chance, but this is so much more efficient at inducing movie-feels. Any chance for sheets?
You are very talented and made this beautifully, I also played the piano when I was little but I stopped due to stress but I kind of want to come back to it. Do you have any tips I could use to get better? Thanks and keep on inspiring more. ^^
Thank you! Some tips I'd give would be: play what you like, even if it's above your current level! Try different styles of arrangements, don't get discouraged if you can't play something even if you try your best. If you don't feel like playing something when you're halfway through just don't play it! Play other things, or just your favorite parts of a piece, then maybe come back to it much later- you might find you've improved somewhere along the way! I think that's how I progress the most. Just try not to get stuck on something for too long. Variation is key! I really, really, _really_ recommend getting back to playing! I'm so glad I picked it up again after a 3 year break. Good luck~
A little thing I don't understand is why you need a sheet for playing a song like this. Like, you've obviously played it before and know the timing and notes. I'm asking out of pure curiosity btw, not trying to be hateful.
Huh, that's one of the more interesting questions I've gotten! The thing is, especially with a piece like this- it's simple enough to play once you've familiarized yourself with it, but you by no means have to remember the whole thing. Sight-reading is a thing, right? You look at the sheet music and play something instantly. Well, I'm not too good at that yet, so in this case I practiced for 4 days, starting out by sight-reading it _really badly_ and then got to the point of remembering and learning the parts that I found too difficult to play instantly. I still had to look at the sheets for most of the rest though. Not sure if that's a good comparison but - it's like reading a passage from a book. If you read it 6 times you'll remember parts of it, be generally familiar with it, yes? Now, could you write the entire thing down from memory?
Caliko Haha, fair enough. I'm personally just a beginning noob regarding piano/keyboard play, havent had class, just have a keyboard I use sometimes. It just seemed odd to me that people were reading from paper while playing, because it's rather unfamiliar to me I suppose, since I can't even read notes and try to memorize fairly basic piano songs. But thanks for the reply, gives some clearance.
Next to that, I just saw another piano player that kept reading from a script while he probably already fully knew the song. In my opinion, it kind of takes away from the performance. The most beautfiul piano performance to me, is the one that goes from pure memorization but also from pure heart, since if you truly love a piece, it'd be memorizable. I'm sorry, I feel like I'm coming across as if I'm hating, but I don't mean this in a malicious way. It"s just a personal observation/preference I suppose.
I think you'd have to start playing from sheet music to tell if there's no heart in a performance if you're sight-reading :) some of the pieces I love the most I have to play from sheets even after months of playing them. And in turn some of the pieces that I've memorized I end up playing in a much more mechanical manner, even just because to memorize something you have to play it for a long time, or the piece is so difficult you need to rely on muscle memory. Memory and heart do not go together. Sometimes looking at the sheets is just something to keep you from slipping up and missing a note. Besides, reading sheet music is hard, give the musicians some credit.
This movie is so beautiful but sad. I have learned the "End Theme", I think that the ost in this movie is brilliant. Anyway, Awesome performance and arrangement! :D
