Your Name - Idealism 5cm per second - Realism I find this two the complete opposite, even tho 5cm per second did not have a happy ending, it was still a masterpiece.
I understood something about love and a quote I read long ago -love but never fall in love, because everything that falls gets broken.. It's not about the heart and desires, it's about the feelings... Kimochi...
The ending was sad..though I dont feel like crying.. Its a love story who two people met and fell inlove, but never destined to be together.. Yeah happens in real life really ..
abcdebrylle gatbunton nope...i believe they were means for each other. But they gave up and that is the result. Destiny brought them together for their love blossom and they choose to deny it.
@@NamelessPassenger for me, it is more about how we idealize love so much as kids that make us believe because it is fate, it will work out somehow like fairytails and our feelings are big and honest. But reality is after we forget that feeling,we move on and meet other people who can makes us feel different kinds of love and experiences. After years, you will realize you didnt love that person that much as you thought or you are ok not being with them, your old feelings dont bother you anymore which means being mature. Giving up and moving on can be healthy too, there are other things in life to enjoy.
@@NamelessPassenger @Nino Kikira both of your speculation are true and it works accordingly to each and everyone out there of how they made their decisions And it sad how things doesn't actually work just because one person gave it up that moment
What more he could have done ? The girl just had already moved on and had a husband or kid it was the boy who didn't use the new opportunities for blossoming the loves that could mabey be reachable this time. The story ended with boy finally realizes that he should learn and start moving on.
Kanae was so underrated in this movie... She sacrificed all her feelings for Takaki and moved on.... The scene where Takaki flight left Tokyo and Kanae was watching him go away broke me😫😫
It does, but that was one addition from the manga that I though jarred with the movie. I don't think it adds much other than to show that what Tohno is going through isn't necessarily unique, but that was already apparent without needing to undercut the main finale.
This is my favorite Makoto Shinkai film because unlike other love stories this showed us the true face of reality that reality doesn't always work like how we expect it to be...
This film had me asking questions such as, At what point do you stop believing in lost love? At what point does it become unhealthy to ruminate on the past? Can true love really conquer everything? Or is love circumstantial, dictated by convenience?
I understand what you mean. How should people live with love and what to do. I guess there is so much we dont understand about it that it just becomes an anxious and confusing thing a lot of times
This movie gives a strong message: Either fight for your love or move on. Not choosing any will leave you in immense pain and hinder your personal growth.
Fr. Made me think will they end up together if he actually continues to fight for his love for akari. But its always those inner demons that makes us question our decisions and actions
Yep. Indecision in itself is a decision. If he at least tried to make it work, he would have at least known if they could have lasted. If he just actually decided to give up and move on, then he would have found happiness much earlier on.
Yep. My Akari Shinohara caused me to treat my Kanae's coldly as well. And worse yet, over time you realize that Kanae was truly "the one". Akari just that first love that will always hold a special place in your heart. But not the long term answer.
I don't know why i'm somehow happy with the ending. Well yes it's sad, but I didn't cry. I'm happy that he finally realizes that it's time to leave his past behind and open a new chapter in his life. He accepted the fact that he and his childhood love won't be able to get together ever again. All the pain and burden he felt in his heart throughout his life, he decides to let it go. I find the ending beautiful instead of sad tbh
It might not have been a happy ending, but it was still a masterpiece. It was the complete opposite of Your Name. Your Name taught me that if two things are meant to be, then love will find a way. On the other hand 5cm per second, it showed us that if things were not meant to be, even if they meant so much to each other, destiny will pull them apart.
@@zerotwowaifu2232 lol just because it's realistic and nonfictional doesn't mean it's trash, this sht happens irl. Only thing Your Name did better was animation since it was ahead for almost 10 years, and the concept which I don't blame cause kids like you like fiction and nonrealistic stuff lmao.
I'd once been in love..when I was 15, I was with a girl for a year. Then I moved to a city to study my last two years of high school. I dedicated to better myself in hostel over there, get good in studies, lose the extra fat, but the girl moved on two months after I'd left. I know I wasn't available because I was in hostel, but I was ready to be in love with my thoughts of her if not her physically being there for me but she wasn't. She came like a breeze and forever shook me..it's been 3 years now, I don't think of her anymore because it still makes be skip a beat. I talked to her a few months back and it's like I never even knew her. So yeah, being in love is such a big question mark. It's like you need to be in love but you shouldn't. I know, find the right one, right, but the right one is right only until they are not. I think I've turned into a hardened cynic in life. I was beautiful and hopeful once. This movie shaped my cynicism.
Shit I fall love in with the second beautiful girl in class and can't stop thinking about her now we talk everyday in school because she sit in front of me, I only like her as friends before, now when school finally open I was also in a depressions at that time and when she look at me from Windows my heart literally melt I now I feel like I have objective and always want to go to school everyday just to see her face.
I still can't get the memory of the train station in the snowstorm out of my head. It is so achingly beautiful I probably never will. Thanks for doing this.
I think this movie is an absolute work of art because it shows the true reality of life: not all love stories have happy endings. Feeling heartbreak, pain, and loss is the only way we will learn to appreciate and love what we truly have. I hated this movie until I recently had to part with a friend whom I was in a complicated relationship with. I then realized that I hated this movie because it was real and revealed my truest fears of what I didn't want to happen. I wanted a happy ending, but I had to learn that not all great stories have the happiest endings.
This shit makes me so sad, I've loved the same girl for over 5 years now, at the time I was 18, now I'm 23 but we both drifted our separate ways and I can relate to this so much. At the end when that amazing song started to play, I just let it all out. What a beautiful show.
Three lives. Distance separated Takaki and Akari while their feelings for each other separated Kanae from Takaki. Love was sacrificed for love. Time passes by normally as it would without doing any significant favour for anyone. Denied by love, the three try to live but only to survive life. Situation changed with the passing years. At the end, convinced of her past,Akari reaches out to life. The girl who was lost for a long time finally accepts her fate and lives her life. She is now engaged. Kanae continues to love Takaki despite knowing he will never love her .Her faith is impeccable. Takaki unlike Akari is unable to accept the reality , he fails to reach out to life,he sits back confused and frustrated . However he still hopes that someday His and Akari's last childhood wish 'To watch the cherry blossoms fall at the speed of five cm per second in spring' will perhaps someday come true. He lives on *hope*
Takhaki got scared because of the distance that grown between them. He thinks that he cant cope up with the long distance love affair and he doesnt want to put akari in grief so he decided not to reply to her even though he himself keep writting those messages. In other words he tried to let go of akari. Akari still love him she said it in her last e-mail, but since Takhaki didnt reply, akari thinks that he didnt love him anymore so she moves on and she'll be married in a month. Takhaki nevertheless, cant let go of his feeling for akari. His life was so meaningless the he decided to quit his job and wander aroud as if his looking for something but the thoughts of Akari filled his mind until he mindlessly trudge back to the old place where they both watched the cherry blossoms when they were still kids hoping he can find Akari there. Akari on the other hand went in that old place because she was reminded of Takhaki when she found the undeliverd letter she wrote for him 3 years ago. They passby each other along the way near the railway. Akari has the feeling that the man he passby was Takhaki so she stop for a moment and slightly turn her back but the ongojng train blocked her view. She never expect to find Takhaki there beacause she believe that Takhaki did'nt love her, so she banished the idea and keep on walking. Takhaki feel the same way when he walked on by Akari but contrary to Her, he hope to find her there thats why he said" when she turns back....."so he keep standing there waiting for the train to go by and when he can't find Akari on the other side of the road, all the feeling that he bottle up for so long intensify into a deepest regret thats whay he ask for another chance ."One more time one more chance."
But I think you interpreted that email part wrongly.. The last email was not sent to Tono by Akari.. it was sent to him by his girlfriend whom he has been dating for three years.. Yes.. you are right that Tono was afraid of long distance relationship ..so he did not want Akari to wait for him .. They never exchanged even a single email since Tono used to delete the messages he wrote in particular to noone.. That's why he decided to break up with his 3 year girlfriend (since he was still stuck in the past hoping for a happy ending with Akari) by not making contact with her since we saw in the movie that he did not reply to his girlfriend's messages who was desperately in love with him.. So..basically we can say Tono did not want Akari to wait for him but he himself was waiting for her desperately.. In manga.. it was shown that when Tono and Akari were in that crossway again later in their adulthood.. Tono gets a glimpse of the engagement ring of Akari..but still with a hope he waits for the train to cross but to his disappointment he does not found Akari standing there.. Akari was already engaged at that time..but she had to come to revive her old memories..finally deciding to not to come back ever again..but Tono was there yes to revive his old memories but also with a hope of getting back together with Akari..but after seeing A Karl's wedding band he smiles that means he accepted the fact that Akari has moved on and he needs to too.. And finally he also let go of his job and girlfriend and finally decides to move on with his life with an aim of grasping another thing out of his reach which was yet to be known to him.. Yes..the story is sad..but I won't say this is not a happy ending..this is indeed a happy ending.. It's just our idealism of happy ending is different than reality..we always expect the leads to get back together..but that does not happen in reality if fate doesn't want to.. But..what can we do when life and fate hold hands and get the last laugh..noone can deny their decisions and we have to play along with them and fight for our survival..in our own lives.. Life doesn't revolve around us..Sometimes..we don't get what we want and what we get we don't like that and we always want to get what we can never get.. So..accept fate and move on.. That's the happiest ending we can expect from our lives..
This movie actually changed me. I first watched this when my boyfriend and I just started out dating(2012), and after I saw this movie, I made it a vow not to give up on our relationship no matter how hard it gets. This was really an eye-opener. Fast forward to 8 years, and we're still as strong as ever. I realized that love is a choice and there should be a mutual commitment to make the relationship work despite the obstacles and the threat of distance. Love conquers all! PS: The ending sequence is a mood setter. I don't watch it when I don't want to feel lonely or sad the whole day. Haha
"One morning,i came to a realization that i have already lost all the beautiful things in the world. So i quitted the company." "Next year lets go see the sakura blossoms together,we both said it without an ounce of doubt in our hearts." I think all these moments, along with the symbolization of the space & constellations, r refering to the loss of youth & attachment to the world, rather than a mere lost love. For me, the feelings Takaki kept on holding to are not exactly the romantic love for Akari but those precious emotions you could only experience as a child. Rather than a real life love interest, Akari sort of became a symbol of his youth, sth he can never see or touch again. In the third part of the story, there is no mention of Akari s name although we get to see her & hear her again. It made the viewer realize that Akari is indeed a real person, a young lady who is planning to get married soon. But for Takaki, she is now a distant dream of his, & someone who only lives in this dream. Akari s voice joined in in narrating the dream, showing us a hint that maybe Takaki is also the same sort of dream or memory for her now. There is no mention of her name by Takaki, probably indicating that she is in deep parts of his consciousness, someone detached from all realities of his life. And he longs for that dream more than anything, bcuz he wants to escape from the reality where he could not find any purpose, & his life which has lost all its possibilities & beautiful aspects, drifting away & away from them at a rate of 5 cm per second.
I only just watched this movie, but there's one point that stands out to me about the relationship between the second and the third part. Takaki stopped texting her. They way he sends messages to no one, its almost as if it was out of the blue. He severed the connection himself, and Akari probably interpreted that as him moving on or forgetting about her. So its easier for her to accept moving on herself. Takaki is the one who suffers because he never really wanted to cut himself off from her, which is why she seems to have moved on far past him.
@@Cyzure yep, i think girl in part 2 was a parallel to exactly this. She was struggling emotionally but after finally confessing she was able to move on and succeeds with surfing. Meanwhile Takaki doesnt say enough during phone convo p1, doesnt text p2, regrets settling in in p3... "one more time, one more chance"
I felt deep sadness, but didn't feel like crying cuz it's like reality. That's what anime(Japan in general) does, helps you find feelings you've never experienced before. That's the reason why I love this country and love its people.
I have watched this movie 3 times and every time after watching this I felt depressed. Because I can't understand the end and moral of it but thanks to explain this movie...😍😇🙏
I feel like the beginning of the first episode really showcases the emotions of unequivocal joy and renewed youth that one feels when experiencing the blossoming of a relationship in a simplistic yet heartfelt way through having scenes emphasize the memories that the two main characters were experiencing together, such as when it was only the two of them in the library and hallway. This further showing how they were were immensely close through the feeling of isolation yet didn’t feel the pitiful emotion of loneliness because they had each other. Furthermore, as the episode trails on you can see a clear foreshadowing of the emotional distance that the two main characters will have to endure, through the overall color scheme which transitioned from a bright, pastel scenery to a gloomy and neutral tone. In addition, notice that whenever they said their farewell to each other, the anime literally shows the train the boy is on rolling away from the girl, always reminding the audience of how far apart they are to which their desired fate isn’t in their favor. Now, on the second episode it displays another type of distance that differs from the previous one, by comparing a physical distance with metaphorical distance by the boy casting a barrier over himself, not allowing the girl who has a crush on him come any closer than necessary which in return doesn’t build a strong bond compared to his childhood sweetheart. Therefore, this makes him vulnerable to no other possibilities in the department of love. In part, the message is how he sacrificed current opportunities for the past with hope fueling the possibility that someday they will reunite again. In addition this segment really does emphasize the uncertainty of the future and the boundless opportunities that lie within it, like when the girl with the crush on the boy flung the paper airplane into the endless sky. Lastly, the final episode really represents the harsh truth of reality. It shows how we aren’t bigger than life but rather how minuscule we are in the scope of life, where it shows human nature of having devotion to someone or something but eventually the enormity of life will overtake it, just how it did to the characters’ childhood love. It also shows how people cope with the same scenario in a multitude of ways and how the actual events in one’s life yet feelings will never really fade. In all, this series quite an accurate and realistic portrayal of human nature and how the people that were in or currently in our lives affect the way of living.
Watched this film last night and loved it, I thought it was a beautiful and great film. It was too short though and at times the plot wasn't easy to follow but it had an interesting story with some of the most beautiful animation I've ever seen. Loved the music too. The ending is meant to be looked at as sad but to me it was a mixed ending. Well done explaining this film by the way, what I really liked about this film was it was about love in reality rather then love in fantasy. What a good film!
The shortage of the movie is a result of a great story telling. Details, but not too many. Places left out to think about them yourself, but filled to a degree you can follow the story.
@@philippjama8467 Yes true, I've come to realise that. The story was very deep so I guess it doesn't matter too much if the film wasn't really long. I guess I just wanted it to be longer.
I realized how life truly is at the age of 14... It hurts like hell, but it's essential for a person's growth... Only certain experiences can change your perspective from living inside a bubble to facing the harsh reality that life is and learning to deal with it... Loved the movie and was surprisingly relatable
The end is absolutely amazing. When they just passed by eachother, no drama, no long goodbye, nothing. It just kinda ended, as it happens in life. They were for eachother and now they are not, that's it. And life goes on
Thank you so much! 💗 I thought I really understand everything, but when I watched your video, It made me realized how meaningful this movie is. Great explaination indeed! 🤗
I watched this film a couple of years ago when I was still struggling with a long distance story that was holding me back, I couldn't help but cry watching it back then. Now, almost 31 years old and having left that story behind, I'm re-watching this masterpiece with new eyes, no tears but still able to appreciate the beauty of a well portrayed life lesson. I think it's also the first time I notice the sadness of the girl he's been dating for the last three years, to whom he refers as "the girl" (no name). Perhaps every time you watch this film you relate more to one character than the other. Thank you for the review! Very well explained.
This movie is absolutely beautiful, it represents life in a perspective we don't expect to see. Life is a battle whether in relationships or anything by itself... Most movies portray everything is possible through effort, while that may be true it's not always the case. Sometimes like, for the characters in this movie, no effort can change their path, his efforts will always be in a vein as long as she has moved on. Sometimes it's better to move forward and believe that there's something better waiting for you ahead in life.
I know I’m super late but I just watched this movie on Netflix. Seeing this video breaking down the relationship between these two really resonates with me. I once met someone that became my best friend and I ended up falling in love with her. Ultimately things didn’t work out and 8 years later she is no longer in my life. She moved on with her life with a new relationship but even till this day I missed what we used to have. I moved on but there’s still feelings there for her I can never get rid of. Like Takaki and Akari I know we wasn’t meant to be and sometimes people served their purpose and aren’t meant to be in your life. It’s sad but that’s how life is and you just have to move forward. It’s like that saying “Right Person, Wrong Time” We’ll never see each other again but I wish her all the happiness.
Interesting take on one of my favourite anime movies of all time! When I watched it I felt a lot of emotions for this anime but I couldn't really express it other than "I really like this film!". I think you've articulated a lot of the feelings I've had about this movie and it really has helped me become even more appreciative of Shinkai's work. It's absolutely amazing the depth and the story that is embedded into what is at first glance seen to nothing but a children's animation. Keep up the great work!
It’s hard to accept but sometimes the saying “Out of sight, out of heart” is true and it’s painful not to see the person you have loved deeply because of Life. I lost almost all the people I have truly loved and now I am only living based on their memories yet I still do appreciate what I have, everything in its own way is a bless only when you try to find your deep self- happiness
In the movie he smiles and kept moving forward and then black screen to credits.... In the manga, as he was walking the childhood version of Akari was looking at him from behind and she started waving goodbye 😭 Damn it still stings, even though i understand why that's the ending of their love story
5 centimeters per second is definitely my favorite Makoto Shinkai film. I love that the ending is so realistic and I somewhat relate to Takaki’s character. I too couldn’t move on from my first love for more than a decade, (we also grew apart due to distance. Before then we’d promised to marry each other when we got older. It’s funny now when I think about it) but later when I realized they had moved on and were happy with someone else I simply gave up and hoped for their long happiness. Maybe that’s why every time I watch it my heart aches and I cry a lot, but regardless it’s still breathtakingly beautiful and poetic. I will never tire of this movie.
You only got one life so you must have to experience every emotion thrown at you by life itself. I loved someone but she’s not with me anymore and the lifetime pain she gives me is make me feel that i’m still alive.
I love how relevant this movie can be even throughout the years. This remains as my favorite anime movie for about 7 years or more now. It still grips my heart even until now.
I Disagree, I have stopped talking to the person I love 2 years ago, I still have feelings for her. I always imagined a future where we are together, But after watching this movie, I gave up on it.
@@anxietybro In a weird way, it makes me happy and sad at the same time that I am not alone in this... Thanks for sharing that with me! every time I hear them say "let go" I get furious and mad because It's really impossible, but I am getting better. Are you beginning to forget and move on?
@@Logan-zf1ft No it's not weird, i got happy when i read your comment, because i thought i was only one like that. Well, now that i watched this movie, it really made me to think about to forget, because it would be better for me.
This film is about two person who love each other to the point they’re ready to sacrifice everything just to see each other just to show how deep their feelings for each other but they’re not destined together it is like climbing to your goal on a mountain of oil compare this struggles to your life don’t force something that is not for you that is not destined for you little by little you will feel the pain that will prevent you from being happy again so as much as possible just leave all those beautiful memories and maybe someday it will make you smile again
I've read another explanation of this movie, and it's said that the reason why Takaki smiled when they walk passed each other is because they fulfilled their promise to each other which is to watch the fall of cherry blossom together which leaves me empty because, I thought what's the point, what is it for? I can't get over it, really.

This movie was peaceful and aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. I'm watching it on a rainy day which just makes it feel more tranquil. I didnt really find why people were crying at the end tho, I felt the story was sad but I just couldn't cry😐
Once you rlly understand it, it hits so differently. Not being able to let go of past is something that affects many ppl. This movie rlly is a masterpiece
Thank you, this is one of my best shinkai movies because it realistically talks about the consequence of not moving on and staying on the fence about love
This film was so beautiful and sad, that it will always have a place in my heart. Moving on, rejection, love. Nothing is simple in life. We just have to keep moving forward and see what the future might bring us.
After watching this anime, I stopped questioning on why someone decided to not continuing a relationship far apart by distance. Sometimes, it may be hard to be understood because when you love someone, you'll struggle no matter what, but it is better to prevent deeper love if not sure enough. If whom you are into is your fate, then everything will be yours in the right situation.
I can relate to this movie so much. When I was in my first year of highschool, I had my first crush and then she became my first love. I think she knew that I liked her because I was so obvious plus my whole class knew about it. She waited two years, for me to confess to her, but, my family and I shifted to a different state. And, my feelings remained to me..... I still can't forget her. Whenever I see a girl, I try to find "her" in other girls. My heart is constantly aching and this movie increased it, because I still can't move on like Takaki did..........
I love this story it reminds me about a girl I loved once In highschool we were both in love with each other but when we got separated for 4 years and I got a chance to see her again but I see her with another man I felt sad a bit but I'm happy that someone is making her happy when the times that I'm not with her to take care and to make her happy

There are factors in life that are beyond one's control. People who accept such assumptions deserve their sad endings. There are things you can't control, but there are things you can, you can't give up before the end. The characters didn't have the ability to go towards the end, but I certainly do.
I also wanna share some insights about the rationale behind the titles. Cherry Blossoms - It has become a theme in traditional Japanese culture to think that beauty often comes hand in hand with rarity, which might be part of the reason why haikus are short, and why the blooming season of cherry blossoms is highly anticipated among the Japanese. Just like the sakura (cherry blossoms), the two main characters' childhood was sweet and beautiful, but not permanent. Cosmonaut - The title is referring more to the other girl, in my opinion. I forgot the exact lines but the girl who was narrating said something along the lines that diving into the unknown blackness of space is scary, and yet astronauts do it for the sake of hoping of finding something that is worth the struggles. It's very much similar to life. Entering whatever career life gives you, or even trying to be closer to the guy you love is very similar to that. We still tend to act on the impulses of love, without really knowing whether it will ruin the relationship, or improve it.
akari found someone another amd the fact that he doesnt accept reality and hurts himself more and more i kinda expected the whole stpry after the rocket launch with kanae because of experience but it still trembled my heart
I completely agree with you.. I came here after watching the anime cause many people commented on that website that they are unable to understand the story. I was so confused like it's choreographed so beautifully. Finally I'm relieved to see your explanation. It's on point.
I owe you one Cloudy TV. I both watched the movie AND read the manga, but I still couldn’t put any of that together. I persisted in viewing the story as a singular story about Akari and Takaki. I guess I have a very idealistic view of love and life and people and potential, so those kinds of themes were hard for me to accept. I’ll move to listen to them though. Idealism needs to constantly be filled in with contrasting and circumstantial information, or else it’s just ignorance. Well done
im in a long distance relationship, and learning how to live your life without them by your side but still being with them is hard, super hard and thats why a lot of people can do it and thats why i think this movie was so realistic. i watched it a long time ago but am rewatching it with my bf and im sitting here crying because i know how empty that distance makes you feel. this movie is amazing though omg
You'll only understand this movie fully once similar things happen to you. It is a very serious and realistic expression of people taking actions they are not certain about. This doubt and hope for better is what prevents people from fully developing. When people are at their lowest, the only way is to go up.
I watched this with my friends and we all thought it was really boring, we all found it really confusing until I watched this video and I got a huge wave of sadness, I really like this film and I love how it doesn't show a picture-perfect relationship. Thanks for explaining

I never thought I'd hate a film for being so beautiful and giving me feels
Every love story will end someday, it's just that we generally don't think about it.
This film had me asking questions such as, At what point do you stop believing in lost love? At what point does it become unhealthy to ruminate on the past? Can true love really conquer everything? Or is love circumstantial, dictated by convenience?
We all can make choice, to let love be a convenient affair, or make it workout.

@@sidickwazip3399 love is pain
Takhaki feel the same way when he walked on by Akari but contrary to Her, he hope to find her there thats why he said" when she turns back....."so he keep standing there waiting for the train to go by and when he can't find Akari on the other side of the road, all the feeling that he bottle up for so long intensify into a deepest regret thats whay he ask for another chance ."One more time one more chance."
wow
This helped me so much to gain a deeper understanding

Why did he stopped writing her?
So i quitted the company."
"Next year lets go see the sakura blossoms together,we both said it without an ounce of doubt in our hearts."
I think all these moments, along with the symbolization of the space & constellations, r refering to the loss of youth & attachment to the world, rather than a mere lost love.
I love this explanation
Situation changes, relationship changes, friend changes the point is when time plays its role even ourselves changes.
Well said
Lesson learned.. Dont trust long distance relationship. It only leads you to heartbreak.
Trur
not always.. but yeah sure it do be like that sometimes.
He was a coward and should have just texted her
@@Cyzure yep, i think girl in part 2 was a parallel to exactly this. She was struggling emotionally but after finally confessing she was able to move on and succeeds with surfing. @@luisiv.459 ok. Thank you. But I had enough sadness. (ㄒoㄒ)(ㄒoㄒ)(ㄒoㄒ)
I had a relationship that had to inevitably became a long-distance one, we broke up about 2 months after she left and this anime fucking broke me.

Understood everything but the ending. That cleared everything up. Thank you.

It’s like that saying “Right Person, Wrong Time”
We’ll never see each other again but I wish her all the happiness.
I've expirienced similar thing to this movie and I just can't stop crying.. I feel so much like Tkaki.
That last scene at train crossing is really so powerful.
Respect to this man. He uploaded that video over a year ago and still replies to comments

Makoto Shinkai makes better movies than anyone else, he really knows what’s love
In the movie he smiles and kept moving forward and then black screen to credits....
In the manga, as he was walking the childhood version of Akari was looking at him from behind and she started waving goodbye 😭
Damn it still stings, even though i understand why that's the ending of their love story
It was a sad, painful yet beautiful ride. Just painful. No other way to describe this masterpiece.
I agree, cant be afraid to get hurt. It’s an experience you’ll learn from and remember forever

What I learnt from this film is
" True love stories never complete"
Maybe but true love in 20th sanctuary hahaha it's very hard to see true lovers I miss my old day's
I allways looking my fast I file sad world sye don't look it fast allways look it a new day but me my fast everything for me
After watching this anime, I stopped questioning on why someone decided to not continuing a relationship far apart by distance. Sometimes, it may be hard to be understood because when you love someone, you'll struggle no matter what, but it is better to prevent deeper love if not sure enough. If whom you are into is your fate, then everything will be yours in the right situation.
Well said!
Thank You Man! , This movie left something like a hole in my heart, but your explanation helped me to be at little ease.
Glad my video helped!!
I love this story it reminds me about a girl I loved once In highschool we were both in love with each other but when we got separated for 4 years and I got a chance to see her again but I see her with another man I felt sad a bit but I'm happy that someone is making her happy when the times that I'm not with her to take care and to make her happy
This film is just sooo relatable

@@boredom9959 where did u watch tenki no ko I tried to find it but theres only one shitty movie from cinema or really bad graphics ;/
Man, you’re a LEGEND for explaining it sooo beautifully
Wow i didnt know the stuff about the sakura. Makes the film that much more meaningful
2020?
i finally cried when you explained that he finally moved on.
:’)
akari found someone another amd the fact that he doesnt accept reality and hurts himself more and more i kinda expected the whole stpry after the rocket launch with kanae because of experience but it still trembled my heart
I completely agree with you.. I came here after watching the anime cause many people commented on that website that they are unable to understand the story. I was so confused like it's choreographed so beautifully. Finally I'm relieved to see your explanation. It's on point.
On one side the movie made me feel physical pain , but on the other side it brought me a step closer to reallity
Well done
Thank you so much! :)
These movies represent a lot of our life.
It's actually Akari at the end by the train. It's in the manga.
yeah it was obvious ..wasnt it
im in a long distance relationship, and learning how to live your life without them by your side but still being with them is hard, super hard and thats why a lot of people can do it and thats why i think this movie was so realistic. i watched it a long time ago but am rewatching it with my bf and im sitting here crying because i know how empty that distance makes you feel. this movie is amazing though omg
One thing this film that this film showed me that. Is that we don't know when we will lose someone we love we only can prepare for when it happenes.
until now its still hurt for me looking back to the anime
it has been sticking with me for the last 7 yearss, cant forget it somehow
Cause its sooo reaal
You'll only understand this movie fully once similar things happen to you. It is a very serious and realistic expression of people taking actions they are not certain about. This doubt and hope for better is what prevents people from fully developing. When people are at their lowest, the only way is to go up.
I watched this with my friends and we all thought it was really boring, we all found it really confusing until I watched this video and I got a huge wave of sadness, I really like this film and I love how it doesn't show a picture-perfect relationship. Thanks for explaining
Im glad my video gave u another perspective on the movie!!
Exceptionally explained, I was infuriated at first at the last ep, but watching this video made me realise that this movie follows much more practical life
