    I find a lot of sand dollars around the Charleston Bay Area. If I see a live one I always leave it be. I only keep the dead ones. They’re very important since they clean out the sand and water and help keep microorganisms balanced

    Sand Dollars are related to starfish and urchins because they look like what is inside of them.

    I may be wrong but "sea biscuits" and "sand dollars" are two different species

    • @AnimalFactFiles
      @AnimalFactFiles  5 лет назад

      Close! "Sand dollars" are the common name most people give to the whole family, while sea biscuits are just certain species within the family (usually the puffier ones are called sea biscuits). Of course, naming conventions differ depending on who you ask, and many animals have multiple common names, so it can quickly get confusing.
