I am an old fart, I turn 70 next week. I have owned this car for three years, mostly drive it in good weather and on weekends but it is so much fun. I’ve had a lot of cars in my life and none of them are this much fun. When people say that you have to thrash this car to get the most out of it, it makes it sound as though it’s gutless but it isn’t. It’s just a car that begs to be driven hard. For anyone who truly loves to drive, this is your car.

I've owned my 00 S2K for 4.5 Years and I love it. Its the only car I've owned that every-time I drive it, it puts a big smile on my face. As far as i'm concerned Honda hit the ball out of the park with this car, I can see why they've been reluctant to produce another as they would have a hard time living up to the original.

wanted a S2000 since 2005 when I was in middle school. Finally picked one up in mid-July 2020 at 25yo. This is a great video and great to see this car gets the love it deserves. It truly is a fun car to drive. The title nailed it too, great car for 20s+. Still a relatively "affordable" sports car
I own a AP1 2002 Model since 2010, bought with 80000kilometers, now its over 180000. I wouldn't like to have it as a daily but as a freetime and trackcar i love it. Modern turbo cars are faster, but the driving feeling that the S2000 is giving you can no hot hatch give you. The feeling is what counts for me, not 0-60miles or 0-1/4mile times. Even at low speeds i love how it feels when i take a curve. You can track it but you can also cruise it with the top down.
Just bought my first S2000, all stock with 54k miles and I am loving it. Reminded me of my first brand new car, a 1992 Integra. To me, this S2000 was the pinnacle of Honda cars.
@@305dadecounty305 2006 MY and $17,900.00. Texas car, all numbers matching. Now I have 59k miles. KnN air filter / Advan A08 tires. I tracked it once to see if the hype is real and yes, its very much everything people have said about this car.
@@305dadecounty305 If the car is clean, all matching, interior is clean and everything is where it is supposed to be,then you may have something worth getting. See if you can take it to a Honda dealership and ask them to give it a good once over and go from there. I had to put some money into a lower control arm. It was bent and dramatically affected the handling. I then took out the seats and had them re-bolstered. Changed all fluids and had Honda give it a full inspection. It cost about 1800.00 but the car is now like new. If you dont have any parts that need attention then i may be a good buy. Mine is all stock except the KnN air filter. Try to keep it that way because you will earn your investment back and likely gain on it too.
The Honda S2000 was a result of an incredible design team’s, 5 years of dedication. At the time, Ayrton Senna (one the greatest F1 drivers ever) was with Honda team and his fingerprints are all over this car’s design, suspension tuning and most importantly engine tuning. This is why the Honda S2000 has its “real driver’s car” feel when you drive it.
I had an AP1 for about 5 years in the late 2000's and sold it. It was my only car at the time and I needed something more practical. Completely regret that decision now.
I bought a 2006 back in 2014, drove it for 2 years...sold it for 3000 more than i paid for it. Regretted the decision to sell every single day afterwards...then 3 years later, the guy i sold it to, offered it back to me, and i got it back for 3000 less than i sold it to him for!!
Good review. I've owned mine for 10 years now and this review hits all the important points. The only thing I take exception to is the comment about the engine sounds from 6,000 rpm up. It's frantic but it will never blow unless you have messed with it and turbo or super charged it.
What a beautiful example! I've had mine nearly 4 years now, and will never ever let it go. Incidentally, mine is identical to yours - a 2005 in silver with a black interior:)
Currently own one as my daily. Its a shame to see so many S2000 owners just letting their cars sit and not driving them due to the potential value being lost in miles.
That's nothing, at least they're preserving them..... But how about those jackoff stance ricers that "slam" or "hella flush yo" a s2000?...... What a waste.......
I have a 2006 S2000 with 34K miles. This is an amazing driver's car. One thing I love, is you don't need speed to feel how beautifully this thing corners...all you need is a twisty road and let it loose. It will thrill you as it does me...every...single...time.
Bought one on impulse and loving it ever since. Came from a much higher powered car (R34 Skyline), yet the driving enjoyment of the S2000 is just as fun (if not more).
i had my first s2k at 21 and my 2nd at 26. AP1 first then AP2 which i prefer having owned both. however, in the UK we have our AP2 with the F20 engine that hits 9500revs whilst having the better exterior. My AP2 has DOUBLED IN VALUE IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS. Buy one whilst you can!!!!!!!!!!
same in Australia - the F20c engine reigned until 2009 here too. I think Honda had to appease the US market with the F22c early in the piece as their target market at the time didn't appreciate high revving low capacity power
I just bought that exact car. 2005 Sebring Silver with black interior. All original one owner with only 44k miles. Recent major service of all fluids and plugs / VC gasket. I’m 6’ 2” at 275 lbs clothed and armed, and I actually fit decently. I’m almost 50 y.o.. So far I love the car.
@@UFC_Buffalo Oh I agree, however my size isn't from a typical obese person, I'm a larger more muscular "heavy". I could stand to drop at least 20-30 lbs. of actual excess weight though.
I had mine for 5 years now, drove it stock the first 4 and enjoyed every minute of it. Last year I got a supercharger installed and it puts a different kind of smile on my face!
I remember chasing one when I got my first car back in high school (2004). It was a MK3 golf 2.0 slow and long story short S2000 went around a hairpin turn I followed, he pulled out flawlessly, I spun out and nearly crashed into a bus...
Ive had my S2k for a little over five years now and I never want to get rid of it. Its a little rough as a daily driver, but I wouldn't trade the fun away for practicality reasons.
Bought an '01 in 2004 and still have it on the road and driving daily. Needs a new paint job which will happen soon and absolutely love this car. We have become one with each other. If you can, buy one now before the price goes up!!!
I bought my 00 S2k right after finishing college in 2007. It has 165k miles on it now and has been crazy reliable, even after hundreds of track day and autocross laps. I've had much "faster" cars over the years, but the S2000 is the only one I refuse to sell. Overall, it's been consistently the most fun to drive AND the cheapest to own and abuse. That's remarkable in and of itself.
This for me along with the NSX, is the perfect driver's car. The best Engine EVER....10 years ahead of every supercar maker!!!! Amazing, superb engineering
I wouldn't say best engine ever. One of the best....... The biggest flaw is the lack of torque...... The v10 from the McLaren F1, s14 from e30 m3, voodoo from gt350R, etc etc..... It's hard to say.... That's not including Motorsport engines.....
Great video! I also own a 2005 GPW. I've had it since 2012 and currently have about 78k miles on it. I've been contemplating selling it for years now, but your video reminded me of why I bought this car to begin with!
I own an '05 AP2 identical to the example in this video. It's a riot to drive, but you have to beat the life out of it, which it wants, and it delivers. They will continue to climb in value as cars become less mechanical and more robotic. Grab one while you still can!
I own an 2005 AP2 as well same exterior color, but with red and black interior. The pros the 2004-2005 is the wired throttle body and not drive by wire. Also it DOES NOT come with traction control. It made me a better driver and the drive much more rewarding. I just started to trail break as I enter my turns and feather the accelerator as I exit, boy does the car rotate really well doing that. Its a slide entering the turn but in a controlled way to prep for the exit.
a lot of people love the s2k shifting gear. i know it goes in butter smooth. the problem i had with it, its not easy to know which gear you jam it into if you shifting fast. with civic or integra, i can just jam it without worrying it goes into the wrong gear - it naturally guide you into the right gear and you can feel which gear its going to. that was not the case with s2k.
As the saying goes - the AP2 is the better car, but the AP1 is the better s2000. I prefer the early 00-01 AP1 due to the 9k redline and twitchy hardcore handling.
The F20C will always be regarded for its 9000 rpm redline, but that's it. Oil consumption is far worse during VTEC than the F22C1 if you don't check it regularly. Though I would prefer the less stable rear end of the AP1 to not understeer and extract more speed out of corners.
@@BSon-sj9uc What I mean is karting-style: Slide the rears and fronts to get the most speed out of a turn. If you have too stable a rear, you get understeer, and vice-versa for oversteer
I've kept my S2000 for about 2.5 years. I had a FD2R for about 7.5 years. I've owned many cars like the WRX STi, Focus ST, Renault RS but I kept my Honda's the longest. It's a car for purists. I'll keep my S2000 for as long as I can.
or perfect for your 60's or 70's. I just bought one, it has 42,100 miles on it. AP1 nearly perfect and original. The main reason I bought this over a Corvette or Mustang or Alfa or Jensen Healey or Morgan +4 is that the insurance is $119 dollars added to my regular insurance policy. It is like driving in a go-cart, very fun. those 4 hooks are for hanging net bags, not coats.
AP1 was built throughout the entire production period from 1999 until 2009. AP2 models, which had the f22c engine, exist in differing years depending on market location.
There's actually even a way to open the hood even more, and I've always liked that trick. I believe it was designed that way to make working on it easier.
Bought a year 2000 AP1 August 2019. Amazing car to drive. Makes me smile every time I take it out. Now looking to add a Jaguar XKR-S to the garage and having to decide whether to sell my 2018 Civic or the S2K. S2K needs to stay.
I had an AP1 Suzuka Blue with blue interior. I definitely envied the AP2 wheels. It was one of the first cars with START button. It Fit like a glove, handled like a go Kart, had the best shifter ever made. God I miss it. Main competition at the time was the Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4, and Nissan Z.
this is why i love my Celica GTS. FWD yes, but when you weigh 2200lbs, got a 7800RPM redline and lift/V-tec, it all comes together and you aren't breaking any speed limits going from first to second.
I’m 23 and I have owned my 2007 AP2 for 2 years. I bought it as a Christmas present to myself when I was 21. Soon throwing a nice fat turbo on it. I know by turboing the car it will go down in value but at least it’ll be 5x the fun. I love being naturally aspirated but when you throw boost at these engines they really wake up.
I'm an older fart than anyone on here....75 yesterday, and I've had approaching 50 cars, including a series 2 E-type in '70 and a TR6 in '72.... The problem is that you just can't own them all, especially if you are like me, and always hankering after something else! I got a new Honda Civic Type R GT in 2009 and ran it for almost three years (a record for me). The engine wailed to the red line at 8.5k and it was mesmerising! I then got an MX5 but the later regret was not going for an S2000 instead, but then I changed for an Audi TT v6 Quattro Cabriolet, and by then had left the S2000 behind! Now of senior years, I have a Mercedes SLK, but would still like to experience an S2000!!!
I absolutely fucking loved your review, I’ve owned this car for about 4 months and you described every little thing I loved about it. I’m definitely keeping for life in my lineup.
The best one is the AP2, with AP1 flywheel and clutch, with 9000 RPM tune. The AP2 flywheel is too heavy and the same AP1 flywheel, it just slips all day if you know how to drive and shift well.
I bought my British ( AP2 2 litre ) in new 2005 only drive it in the summer hence only 15,000 miles, now worried 😟 about putting the mileage up not the way to enjoy a great car.
Love the video man. Great production and love the info you put in. But I gotta correct you on the weight thing. You say you can't get a sports car that's 2700 lbs in today's market without breaking $100,000. But the Fiesta ST makes about 200HP and 202 lb/ft of torque and that little guy weighs at 2700 lbs as well and costs as much as an S2000 used. Just a side note! :D
Thanks Marquis! That's true! Thanks for leaving that information here. We'd love to review a Fiesta ST in the future, it's too bad Ford discontinued most of their cars in North America. :(
@@ACCELER8TV I would absolutely love to see your take on the Fiesta ST! It really is a tragedy what Ford did in the NA market, but what can you do you know?
Amazing car, owned two at different points in time, sold my last one to pay for school. Of course now they're worth double what I sold mine for... Wish I hadn't sold it in the first place... upgraded to an A90 Supra recently, but was VERY seriously considering getting another S2K instead. In the end they stopped making the S2000 in 2009 and I just couldn't justify buying a car that old for the money they were asking. I drove my S2K's the way they were meant to be driven, and now it's too old to sustain that sort of abuse reliably, especially if I don't know the full history of the car.
Awesome review. Ap2 has more than just 6% more torque. More like 7-10% more power across the entire rpm band. It used a different HP measurement standard, so was still "rated" at 240hp even though it produced significantly more power than the Ap1.
He’s actually correct. During that time a lot of other cars had their horsepower numbers change because of the new horsepower calculation. The AP2 makes about 5-10 more horsepower than an AP1 on a dyno.
Some AP1s also have a glass rear window. I think that only the first year S2000s came with a plastic rear window, because I own a 2002 AP1 and the rear window is glass.
The s2000 is a great car for any age. Age is just a number, I'm 32 years old and I'm considering getting one. Also s2k's are only going higher and higher in value. They're still expensive as hell so it's definitely a good investment.
Great video. Here in UK we only have AP1 and we call the mark 2 a "Facelift" Mine is identical to the one in your video. Sits in the garage till the sun comes out. Love it so much and will never sell it. It is my toy though and not a daily... Cant wait to drive it into europe through the Alps and then round the streets of Monaco
If you didnt buy the 04-05 you could have just got yourself a flashpro for 600$ and been revving at your 9000RPM with none of those pesky AP1 downsides :) Your defintion of raw is less refined and less predictable at high speeds . In no way does that make sense for what the car is intended for. This is a track car, and a track needs to give its driver the best predictability possible. Also the AP2 had nothing to do with marketing and everything to do with taking what you learned the first three years and applying it to make a better car. 2.2L is always better than 2.0 for creating power. The Ap2 and Ap1 have the same power except the AP2 starts giving you more power a lot sooner without sacrificing top end. Coming out of a turn on a track that grunt is going to make you faster. In the event you don't want that extra power and consider high speed unpredictability a plus, you spend 200$ on a pair of springs to switch back to "raw" mode... ;)
Jk but honestly. I've owned my 2004 s2000 for about 7 years and it has never given me any problem besides a dead battery and a cat (normal stuff for an old car). I've modded it slightly and tracked it a few times and I still drive it everyday and love it. Putting the top down, nothing beats it. I worked for Honda for 2 years, in service, and the type r is a nice car and I always thought of giving the s2000 up for a ctr. But all the pros of a new type r, rarely came in for any major service needs, turbo, a lot of room, type R period, could never out weigh the amount of fun and appreciation I have for my s2000. Honda honestly built a great car and I don't think I'll ever give it up or they will ever be able to build anything better.
If it will be your only car get the type r, it is much more useful in most situations. If it is a weekend car get the s2000! Coming from someone who owns an AP1, AP2, and a type r.
The color around the windshield it actually means something different. If it isn’t matching the color (usually black) then it means it was ordered with a hardtop spoon. Some came in a color matching spoon
Great review of a really astonishing car! Very comprehensive. Congratulations to seize the opportunity to teach the meaning of “middle engine”, there’s still a lot of ignorance and misconception about it. Greetings from Brazil.
I've driven Tesla model 3, Audi s5, ttrs, Miata nd, mustang, firebird, n more. Once you drive s2000, other cars don't mean much to you besides the super cars. Add another 30g to mod, the S can compete with porsche gt3 due to perfect weight distribution, solid go-kart hugging road.
I had read long long ago that in the first generation the rpm’s were displayed in a straight line from L to R with thin light strips They designed it that way so that when it was halfway lit , that’s where was the sweet spot for v-tec was , so when you’d be driving fast with your eyes on the road, you’d be able to see with your peripheral vision where the rpm’s were and where v-tec was I can’t believe I remember this.
Unfortunately my AP1's engine just blew, I believe the cause was valve drop. So a new engine is in the future. Some may call me crazy but I'm seriously considering a lightly built K24 swap, these F series engine just cost so dam much.

@@305dadecounty305 2006 MY and $17,900.00. Texas car, all numbers matching. Now I have 59k miles. KnN air filter / Advan A08 tires. I tracked it once to see if the hype is real and yes, its very much everything people have said about this car.
@@cooperbrown1 I’m looking for one now and I found a 2007 with like 80k miles but they want 25k for it
@@305dadecounty305 If the car is clean, all matching, interior is clean and everything is where it is supposed to be,then you may have something worth getting.
That's a myth. Aryton did not help develop any Honda production car. He just test drove the nsx on a track to help with the marketing.
@@Bruceillest101 EXACTLY! Especially nothin to do with the s2000
I had an AP1 for about 5 years in the late 2000's and sold it. It was my only car at the time and I needed something more practical. Completely regret that decision now.
It’s a tough one.
Totally! I mean to say that it “sounds” like it will blow up.
It is bulletproof
What a beautiful example! I've had mine nearly 4 years now, and will never ever let it go. Incidentally, mine is identical to yours - a 2005 in silver with a black interior:)
They are, crazy how they weren’t as popular as some others in it’s time.
Bought mine when I was.. 26? I'm turning 33 next week, still love it.
Your the example!
Update : 33 years old now, still puts a smile on my face after 7 years of ownership daily driven and 3 track events. Never selling this bad boy!
B. Son keep it forever, we really don’t get cars like these anymore.
Currently own one as my daily. Its a shame to see so many S2000 owners just letting their cars sit and not driving them due to the potential value being lost in miles.
No car should sit in a museum! Can’t make memories while the car is sitting in the garage!
The S2000 Is at Its best as a weekend car or track car.
I also daily my S2000 but you can only truly appreciate how great it is when you drive something else then get back into it!
let them sit we need clean s2000 for the future.
Yes sir! Enjoy it
Please explain why the car is more fun than the R34.
i had my first s2k at 21 and my 2nd at 26.
Nice!!!
same in Australia - the F20c engine reigned until 2009 here too. I think Honda had to appease the US market with the F22c early in the piece as their target market at the time didn't appreciate high revving low capacity power
If you lock the driver's door lock, it actually locks the passenger door as well. So essentially you do have a button to lock the doors ;)
Just got my one last week. Finally got one after wanting it for so many years. Its incredible
For health reasons, you should shed just a couple lbs.
@@UFC_Buffalo Oh I agree, however my size isn't from a typical obese person, I'm a larger more muscular "heavy". I could stand to drop at least 20-30 lbs. of actual excess weight though.
@@protectandswerve lol I know, I was only kidding. If you can fit into an S2000, you definitely aren't obese or anything 🙂.
@@UFC_Buffalo LOL All good!!
I bought my 2003 S2000 as a gift to myself a few days before I turned 19 I’m almost 20 now and have put over 12k miles on it I love driving it
I had mine for 5 years now, drove it stock the first 4 and enjoyed every minute of it. Last year I got a supercharger installed and it puts a different kind of smile on my face!
Jackson racing?
ACCELER8 Kraftwerks, built by LHT Performance, thats the only way I would ever modify such a perfect factory car.
Affordable in my 20's if I lived with my parents and have no other financial obligation sure.
The most underrated JDM.... What a lovely car, not a fan of convertibles but I'd buy this without thinking twice.
Truth!
Underrated? Said nobody ever.
I remember chasing one when I got my first car back in high school (2004). It was a MK3 golf 2.0 slow and long story short S2000 went around a hairpin turn I followed, he pulled out flawlessly, I spun out and nearly crashed into a bus...
Lolololol!
But a VR swap in that thing with real coil overs would have been on its tail
Ive had my S2k for a little over five years now and I never want to get rid of it. Its a little rough as a daily driver, but I wouldn't trade the fun away for practicality reasons.
And whenever you get close.. come back here and re-read your mindset!
bought mine when i was 24. im turning 35 this aug and still own it
Don't forget about the new ND miata. Probably as close as you can get aside from asking for a new s2k.
I NEED to review it!
The 86?
@@miguelfragoso7023 2020-2021 Toyota 86, ND Miata and S2000 are definitely very close. Love all three
I have an AP1, I love it, just put 8 g's into it and love it even more!!!
Definitely the car I'll get once student debt is taken care of. Probably the best graduation gift you can give yourself.
The hooks behind the seat is for an optional s2000 pocket , not a suite or bag :)
Ahhh! Thank you for the input to help the info flow!
Bought an '01 in 2004 and still have it on the road and driving daily. Needs a new paint job which will happen soon and absolutely love this car. We have become one with each other. If you can, buy one now before the price goes up!!!
Truth!
Isn’t that crazy! They don’t make then like they used to
I'm have been driving the heck out mine.. 214k miles runs like new, love it. 2007 s2000
This for me along with the NSX, is the perfect driver's car. The best Engine EVER....10 years ahead of every supercar maker!!!! Amazing, superb engineering
Well said!
Hahah! Amazing
I own an '05 AP2 identical to the example in this video. It's a riot to drive, but you have to beat the life out of it, which it wants, and it delivers. They will continue to climb in value as cars become less mechanical and more robotic. Grab one while you still can!
Great video.
Will get this on my 40th birthday in 5 years time!
S2000 is an incredibly well made car. That shift gear box is the GOAT!
I bought MY04 in 2012 with only 7k on the odometer. Love it to date.
Damn, great buy!
As the saying goes - the AP2 is the better car, but the AP1 is the better s2000.
I prefer the early 00-01 AP1 due to the 9k redline and twitchy hardcore handling.
That’s gold.
Ap2 with ap1 sway bars ;]
The F20C will always be regarded for its 9000 rpm redline, but that's it. Oil consumption is far worse during VTEC than the F22C1 if you don't check it regularly.
Though I would prefer the less stable rear end of the AP1 to not understeer and extract more speed out of corners.
@@CreepinCreeper145 fixed my understeer by running wider tires and switched out the rear sway bar for a CR sway bar.
@@BSon-sj9uc What I mean is karting-style: Slide the rears and fronts to get the most speed out of a turn. If you have too stable a rear, you get understeer, and vice-versa for oversteer
I have had one for over 10 years and love it and will never sell so don.t ask
I've kept my S2000 for about 2.5 years. I had a FD2R for about 7.5 years. I've owned many cars like the WRX STi, Focus ST, Renault RS but I kept my Honda's the longest. It's a car for purists. I'll keep my S2000 for as long as I can.
Very true
The fact he emphasized the 10 years LOL. I love it
or perfect for your 60's or 70's.
Never knew that! Thanks for the contribution!
Been daily driving them for over 16 years. Recently stored it to daily a new Type R. Honda does know how to make an emotionally connected car.
I need to know,
I had a 2001 Integra R, and an s2k.. how does the new R compare?
There's actually even a way to open the hood even more, and I've always liked that trick. I believe it was designed that way to make working on it easier.
Bought a year 2000 AP1 August 2019. Amazing car to drive. Makes me smile every time I take it out. Now looking to add a Jaguar XKR-S to the garage and having to decide whether to sell my 2018 Civic or the S2K. S2K needs to stay.
It's gonna be my 30s for me. My 20s were filled with fighting like hell to get through college, keep a roof over my head, and finding a career.
Me too! I miss it.
Competition is weak!
I will be 70 in two months, and I love driving my year 2000, S-2000.
I have had my ap1 rebuilt at LHT performance in tampa. It looks great and it runs like new. It has 43,000 miles on it, at 25 years old.
this is why i love my Celica GTS. FWD yes, but when you weigh 2200lbs, got a 7800RPM redline and lift/V-tec, it all comes together and you aren't breaking any speed limits going from first to second.
The beauty of it!
Finally a reviewer who revs the piss out of it like you're supposed to
I've owned 3 ap1 and it's seriously one of the best cars to drive.
Those hangers behind the seats were for VHS tapes when you rented movies from Blockbusters. That's what I used it for......
This right here is a proper achievable dream car
An issue with s2000 owners is that the car is so stable on the highway that you'll look down at the dash and be going 88 mph.
In the middle of New Mexico that would be 130+ :)
On my 3rd s2000 best car I’ve ever owned.
ive been shopping for one recently, why you gotta drop this video?😂 price gonna go up man
Hahahah! Man I barely have 5k views. Nobody watching this!
I bought my British ( AP2 2 litre ) in new 2005 only drive it in the summer hence only 15,000 miles, now worried 😟 about putting the mileage up not the way to enjoy a great car.
if you want a fun to drive roadster AND you value your money. This is the only game in town!. Love the ND2 Miata but you will lose money on it.
never thought of it as a front mid engine. thanks for dropping some needed knowledge :)
Thank you!
I'm 24, I pay 120 a month for my 95 civic 00 s2000. Love the rawness of the ap1. Only drive it in good weather😎
out of every car I've driven and owned, the S2000 is the purest car of them all.
Nonsense, shits reliable af
Awesome review. Ap2 has more than just 6% more torque. More like 7-10% more power across the entire rpm band. It used a different HP measurement standard, so was still "rated" at 240hp even though it produced significantly more power than the Ap1.
You must own an ap2… Different measurement for hp lol where the hell did you hear that. F22c is rated at 237hp not 240 like F20c.
He’s actually correct. During that time a lot of other cars had their horsepower numbers change because of the new horsepower calculation. The AP2 makes about 5-10 more horsepower than an AP1 on a dyno.
Bought mines for 11k and I I don't regret it a single day
It’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This channel is so underrated, though. Keep the great work going bro.
London Ontario represent! so happy to see a youtuber from my home town!
Yes!! 🇨🇦
the hangers behind the seats are for storage bags, like little backpacks. $100 each
Some AP1s also have a glass rear window. I think that only the first year S2000s came with a plastic rear window, because I own a 2002 AP1 and the rear window is glass.
Yes! Some markets offered ap1s with glass
The s2000 is a great car for any age. Age is just a number, I'm 32 years old and I'm considering getting one. Also s2k's are only going higher and higher in value. They're still expensive as hell so it's definitely a good investment.
Great video.
Here in UK we only have AP1 and we call the mark 2 a "Facelift"
Mine is identical to the one in your video. Sits in the garage till the sun comes out. Love it so much and will never sell it. It is my toy though and not a daily...
Cant wait to drive it into europe through the Alps and then round the streets of Monaco
You can lock the doors from inside the car. You just move the door lock lever to “lock” and it locks both doors.
Same with my 2004 gto.... U used to be able to do that on most cars.
Seen every review on the Tube, you cover everything, well done. I love my '03. Hey car is a adult now in Canada. Had the old girl for 15 years.
In the event you don't want that extra power and consider high speed unpredictability a plus, you spend 200$ on a pair of springs to switch back to "raw" mode... ;)
Great Job! Timeless Classic Beauty! Thx!
So much almost correct info in this video. For example AP1 had glass rear window in 02 and 03
I really dont know if i should get an s2000 or get a new type r instead. I really love both cars
Chris Hernandez tough choice, totally different set of requirements that you would want out of them.
Just get em both!
S2k if you want a real sports car or a type r if you need the trunk space...
I am definitely buying this as my first car Idc!
Great review bro , Enjoy your passion for this car , This will be collectible in future years.A investment and great fun.
Appreciate that!
The color around the windshield it actually means something different. If it isn’t matching the color (usually black) then it means it was ordered with a hardtop spoon. Some came in a color matching spoon
Thank you for the clarification and contribution to the channel! Much appreciated!
I had read long long ago that in the first generation the rpm’s were displayed in a straight line from L to R with thin light strips
They designed it that way so that when it was halfway lit , that’s where was the sweet spot for v-tec was , so when you’d be driving fast with your eyes on the road, you’d be able to see with your peripheral vision where the rpm’s were and where v-tec was
I can’t believe I remember this.
Daymm!
The heads up display is set like this on a few cars... the BMW M340 I just reviewed
Best car ever - refuse to sell even though I'm burning through $60k a year on grad school. I'd rather take the fat interest then part ways.
😂 agreed!
Unfortunately my AP1's engine just blew, I believe the cause was valve drop. So a new engine is in the future. Some may call me crazy but I'm seriously considering a lightly built K24 swap, these F series engine just cost so dam much.
That would be pretty cool actually, has that been done before?
