    Thats nonsense, They aren't getting rid of Jrue, he was the first player they signed to a multi year extension. You cant replace what Jrue brings to the team, the man is a championship level NBA talent that has the most hardcore work ethic on the court and being that elite championship star offense and defense on a nightly consistent basis.
    Porzingis on the other hand if he doesnt reamin healthy could very well be moved.
    I dont buy into Hauser being a lock. His contract can now be moved in a trade along with Pritchard, because salaries can now be matched to moved for players with higher salaries.

    • @danielthompson3928
      @danielthompson3928 2 месяца назад +1

      In the 2nd apron they would have to trade down. Payton and Sam are on good deals which means player for player they are likely better than whoever you could trade for. The team receiving them would still have to be within a certain range of that salary for the players they ship out so you would only save what? $700k to $1.1m on your salary cap trading them off? The easiest contracts to trade would be D. White, Jrue and Porzingis’. I think they plan on just letting Horford retire instead of trading him or anything to get him off the books. Then next up will likely be trading Jrue or signing him to a new deal that basically stretches out his remaining money long-term giving them tax relief and giving him a decent payday into his retirement.

      @@danielthompson3928 The luxury tax works both ways. Shaving a million or 2 off your cap equals very large luxury tax savings so no, it isn't just $700k or $1.1m.
      It's clear you also know nothing about NBA revenues, they are skyrocketing. The idea that the Celtics can't afford to pay a lot is nonsense. Just to give you a rough idea, the Celtics revenue in 2016 was 200 million, it should be going over 700 million a year soon and then keep going higher. So yeah, they can afford an awful lot, it's just how much they want to spend. You should also know that winning is a big factor in yearly revenue. The biggest revenue earner by a wide margin in recent years was the dynastic Warriors. If the Celtics become a dynasty they will probably get over 1 billion in yearly revenues. They'll also get a 300 million check when the NBA does expansion which is next on the docket.

      You aren't wrong. Their revenues have been skyrocketing anyway and will continue to do so. Literally it is many times higher than it was in 2016 and still going higher. Throw in another 300 million check they will receive when NBA does expansion which is next and it's clear they have money to spend. The Warriors have had the highest revenue per year by far because they were a dynasty. The more titles the Celtics win, the more their revenues will explode.

      They can for this year as their luxury cost isn't that high yet. It's not nearly as high now as what teams like the Warriors have been spending.
      Starting next year it would be steep so there is a good chance they will trade someone. It's hard to say what they will do because NBA team revenues have been going thru the roof. The Celtics get so much more revenue per year now than they used to and it is set to explode even more. So it's probably not true to say they can't afford everyone as they may well have enough revenue to afford it. People saying they can't afford it have no idea how much the NBA revenues have gone up. The Celts received 200 million in 2016 revenues, but that number should be over 700 million soon and going higher. The team with the highest yearly revenue has been the Warriors so winning titles brings in a lot more cash. If Celtics keep winning then they could become the #1 revenue team and could be taking in over 1 billion a year.

    • @stickman1742
      @stickman1742 2 месяца назад

      @@kohsmoger1567 I believe they will always have the option of trading down which is a good reason to have all these contracts. Without the contracts, the guys would just walk when their contract is up. I'm pretty sure they could trade Hauser for a guy making 8 million a year or Pritchard for a guy making 5 million. Or Porzingas for a guy making 25 million, I don't know if these numbers exactly fit into the rules but that's the general idea. Trading down to slightly cheaper contracts would mean huge luxury tax savings.

      The more they win the better and not just psychologically. NBA revenues have been skyrocketing and the media keeps ignoring it. The Celtics had revenues for 200 million in 2016, but that should be going over 700 million a year soon. Probably even higher after that. That's why so many teams are still signing these kinds of contracts, almost every team is already over the salary cap for next season. Expansion is next and that will bring each team another huge check to. The Celtics will get a check for 300 million from the new expansion owners when that happens.
      How winning titles helps is shown by the fact that the Warriors have had the highest yearly revenues by far in recent years. Being a dynasty brings you lots of cash. If the Celtics become the next dynasty they will almost certainly be making over 1 billion a year in revenue. Winning is the biggest variable here, but it makes sense no matter what happens. If the Celtics keep winning titles they can afford to keep more of their players, perhaps most all of them. If they don't they won't be able to afford as much, but then you wouldn't want to keep them all anyway since you aren't winning titles. If they don't win more with this roster, they will want to trade players away.

      If the Celtics are healthy then that is close to about 0%, but who knows how health goes. Certainly the Sixers are spending left and right for a team that will be very expensive to keep but so are teams all around the NBA. The Knicks will most likely disappoint their fans like they always do. When everyone says their problem is too many guys are hurt then that is a really bad sign. NBA players that get hurt a lot usually always get hurt a lot.
