I am Japanese. I have been supporting the Lions from Japan for about 50 years. I never dreamed that the Lions would become so strong. They have made it to the Super Bowl, let me dream. GO! GO! LIONS
My Japanese friend, thank you for your loyal support. I personally think it's a awesome. I'm a 50 year fan myself. In 86-87 I was stationed in Yokosuka. While serving in the US Navy. I loved every minute I was there. I cried the day I was leaving. For multiple reasons. I love the culture, the landscape. Japan is a beautiful country. I listen to female Japanese rock and metal bands. I would love to go back some day. Once again, thanks for the Lions love. I just to speak with someone in Japan. Going back to bed now. It's 4³⁰ am here at the moment. Have a great day
Doug English was a guy that played his heart out . Jerry Ball a beast . Mr. Brown , Mr. Lucci , Charlie Sanders , Thunderfoot Weaver , Billy Munson , Spielman , Bubba Baker , The hardest hitter I’ve seen Benny Blades, Alex Karras . But I’ll say Doug and Chris and Aiden and Utley changed how I viewed sports, they were the epitome of the strength , determination, and class. You have a long way to go to get there Jamo .
2nd Billy Sims! He instantly made the Lions relevant. Too bad his career was so short. If he had played today, he'd be back from knee surgery the next season. Crazy!
Jason Hanson. By far my favorite lion. Started & ended his career with Detroit . One of those ‘first one in the building, last one to leave’ guys. Such a great kicker. Never complained, did his job, stuck it out with us until he retired. All class. #4!!
Billy Simms was who we all pretended to be in the early 80s, we'd take a ball and get a running start and jump over snow drifts like he jumped over linemen on Sunday. Arouse Pinner is from my hometown Hopkinsville,Kentucky . Robert Porcher and Mr. Speilman were favorites also
@ depends on how you’re grading him. Personally championships are team accomplishments. if we’re going talent and skill then it’s hands down Barry Sanders - Greatest player on the world’s worst franchise.
I saw him at the Silver Dome his rookie season against Tampa Bay. They absolutely destroyed the Bucs. They had a guy that hadn't played QB since high school playing QB because the Lions D knocked out Doug Williams and their backup.
@@steveschulz7824 its been a while but didn't he have like 22 sacks his rookie year - that is when Floyd Peters was the DL coach . They really could rush the passer with the best of them .
One of my favorite players when I first started getting into football and rooting for the lions was Deandre Levy. There was something about him, whenever he was on the field, he just made plays.
Maybe not my favorite but Nate Burleson was an amazing representative for this team and this city. He bought in 100 % and still reps the city to this day.
#59 Jimmy Williams. Lived in the condo across the street & had a Delorian (in the Back To the Future days). We hit his car with a snowball. Neighbor kid went to tell on us. Came out with a signed laminated photo. LGL💙
Honestly Stafford was my favorite. The passion and will power. His toughness. When he was a rookie and got hit and separated his shoulder and went right back in and threw a TD. One of my favorite moments of the lions before the Campbell era
Same here. Stafford my 1. Pure toughness, skill and heart. If he played for the Patriots they would have 10 rings. 2nd Barry 3rd Chris Speilman. New Lions, 1- Monty 2-Branch 3- Hutch
I've got a name that is not very recognized for his talent for you. I liked to watch Charlie batch back in the day. He want the best but did well considering things. He did get us to the playoffs twice I believe. He isn't the flashiest but played with heart.
My favorite lion All time is Calvin Johnson HM Matt Stafford Right Now my favorite lion is Brian Branch One of my favorites I don’t think people would expect is Deandre Levy
Who remembers Leonard Thomson great receiver during the run and shoot offense? But he was the most dangerous gunner on special teams. If they didn't fair catch, the receiver got cranked, big time buy LT.
that nfl flag in the background is frustrating to look at. I saw the bears and vikings, and I was like, oh, they're separated by division. then I realized they weren't, and I looked up and saw Arizona then Baltimore and was like oh, it's alphabetical order. then, by the third helmet, I realized it was wrong. then I saw bears, rams, broncos, lions in a row, and I was like, oh, it's separated by similar mascots, like animals. then I realized, no, wrong too. Just a bunch of helmets with absolutely no rhyme or reason. spent so long typing this out. but I'm watching the whole vid and I will like it.
Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders, Greg Landry and Chris Spielman are all Lions greats I grew up watching. In his short career with the Lions, Billy Simms was exciting to watch, and could have done some great things in Honolulu Blue and Silver.
Dre Bly Luther Ellis Memories are a little fuzzy but started going to Lions games @ the end of Silverdome Era Ouhhh Big Baby Shaun Rogers Moore & Morton Boyd & Spielman Robert Porcher!!! lol looking at the ‘99 roster, Jason Hanson, what a legend Didn’t know we had Desmond Howard Omg Cory Schlesinger Ending it on..BOSS BAILEY loved DBs growing up, Champ was a DAWG. Was so hyped when we got Boss. Interesting he sign 5 years with Denver, $3m/yr $8m GTD and they cut him after one season
Mine is Cory Slethenger. The guy was a beast. Rumor was he had to replace his face mask after every game bc it would get beat to hell. Cory was 100% beast mode. I met him once in Allen Park when he was a teacher there.
This is the hard part of having a good roster, good players are going to be waived because theres just not enough room. I feel like these next few years are going to be fun with a lot of tough decisions to follow.
I grew up in the Sanders era. As much as I love him, it was always Herman Moore that was my favorite. As an old man, the Lion throughout history that I admire the most would be Dick "Night Train" Lane. He is literally the story of coming from nothing (he was found in a dumpster as an infant), to making a difference.
Huh? Mike Furrey was a jack of all trades type. He had way more than one chance. Definitely not a “camp body”. He had played as a S, a ST ace and WR. The lions maximized his values as a WR. But he had like 10 starts at FS a season before. Massive swing and miss here.
Benny Blades!! Met him at a card show at my high school and I didn't have the $$$ to pay for his autograph, the guy in charge of the signing told me to get out of the line. So I walked over to the end of the hall and Blades left his spot and walked over and gave me an autograph for free. Hooked after that

Detroit is a very diverse time, love and respect for your friends in the West

God bless the great people of Japan ❤
.. Herman Moore .. He is MASSIVELY Under-Rated . He had Great hands & was an Excellent Blocker ..
Doug English was a guy that played his heart out . Jerry Ball a beast . Mr. Brown , Mr. Lucci ,
Charlie Sanders , Thunderfoot Weaver , Billy
Munson , Spielman , Bubba Baker , The hardest hitter I’ve seen Benny Blades, Alex Karras .

Billy Sims. One tough running back.
2nd Billy Sims! He instantly made the Lions relevant. Too bad his career was so short. If he had played today, he'd be back from knee surgery the next season. Crazy!

The all time Lions leading scorer was hands down the best kicker I ever seen.
Bobby Layne. I was born in the late 60s, but growing up I heard awesome stories about him, on and off the field. Total legend.
Joique bell was my favorite. Benton harbor man, Wayne state grad. Super involved in the city. Great angry runner
Mike utley
Billy Simms was who we all pretended to be in the early 80s, we'd take a ball and get a running start and jump over snow drifts like he jumped over linemen on Sunday.
Arouse Pinner is from my hometown Hopkinsville,Kentucky .
Robert Porcher and Mr. Speilman were favorites also
Alex Karras was the Aaron Donald of his age. Joe Schmidt who defined what a MIKE backer is in the NFL defense
I am of that age.
Barry Sanders is still the number 1 all time favorite and best lion of all time period
There's no argument to be made there!
He’s the reason i’m a fan. followed him from college. still haven’t been to a game in D Town. one day tho.
That’s no argument the argument is if he’s the best NFL player of all time he’s my all time favorite player ever
@ depends on how you’re grading him. Personally championships are team accomplishments. if we’re going talent and skill then it’s hands down Barry Sanders - Greatest player on the world’s worst franchise.
@ facts franchise is changing though to go on 1 of the greatest runs of everybody stays healthy
Lem Barney is my favorite old skool Lion
Mine would be Cory Schlesinger. Loved him
Al “Bubba” Baker that’s my favorite lion 🦁!! The sack master!!
It was that year. They called themselves the Silver Rush. He was a one man wrecking crew.
One of my favorite players when I first started getting into football and rooting for the lions was Deandre Levy. There was something about him, whenever he was on the field, he just made plays.
Billy Sims was my first lions love.
Robert Porcher was the guy that got me into the lions!
Favorite secondary Lions had to be Golden Tate and Dre Bly. They both had that swagger AND backed it up!
Cory Schlesinger full back, true grit from a struggling Era.
Charlie Sanders is my favorite Lion.
My childhood favorite #88
Jason Hanson would be my pick of fav lion outside of the typical lineup
He was my pick too. 20 years with the Lions I believe.
Nick Lidstrom of Lions history. Great call!
Defensive lineman, Jerry Ball. I remember him doing a clothesline to an opponent, but can't recall offhand who it was. 😁
Maybe not my favorite but Nate Burleson was an amazing representative for this team and this city. He bought in 100 % and still reps the city to this day.
Billy Sims was the player who hooked me hard. Ironically, he gets hurt, and we wind up with Barry down the road.
#59 Jimmy Williams. Lived in the condo across the street & had a Delorian (in the Back To the Future days). We hit his car with a snowball. Neighbor kid went to tell on us. Came out with a signed laminated photo. LGL💙
Growing up it was Darius slay for me. Bought his jersey and loved his crazy hair
Louis Delmas
not too far back and not exactly obscure, but i really liked Golden Tate. just an electric fun player to watch
I don’t actually know who he was, but Jerry Ball was my favorite player on Super Techmo Bowl, regular Nintendo!
I've got a name that is not very recognized for his talent for you. I liked to watch Charlie batch back in the day. He want the best but did well considering things. He did get us to the playoffs twice I believe. He isn't the flashiest but played with heart.
Charles Rodgers he was also a Beast in NFL 2k5 with Donavon McNabb on the cover 😅
🎉 Night Train Lane
How about Eric Hippel, one of the toughest QB's the Lions had, i loved his grit.
Jared Devries. Former Iowa Hawkeye and Went to high school not far from where I live. Let alone any Hawkeye that's been a Lion.
Jody Littleton, he was long snapper and we became friends. Gave tickets to every home game
My favorite lion All time is Calvin Johnson HM Matt Stafford
Right Now my favorite lion is Brian Branch
One of my favorites I don’t think people would expect is Deandre Levy
Glover Quin was one for me
For me it was Chris Spielman, Robert Porchet, Herman Moore, Lomas Brown, and yeah Barry
Who remembers Leonard Thomson great receiver during the run and shoot offense? But he was the most dangerous gunner on special teams. If they didn't fair catch, the receiver got cranked, big time buy LT.
Unsung favorites Zack Follet, Malcom Rodriguez, Ragnow
that nfl flag in the background is frustrating to look at. Benny blades, mel gray
Stephen Boyd & Robert Porcher
Funny you said mel grey. He has always been my fave returner. Dude was electric.
Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders, Greg Landry and Chris Spielman are all Lions greats I grew up watching. In his short career with the Lions, Billy Simms was exciting to watch, and could have done some great things in Honolulu Blue and Silver.

Interesting he sign 5 years with Denver, $3m/yr $8m GTD and they cut him after one season
Ndominkin Suh was a BEAST! In his prime he would always get double teamed and still get to the QB!
Shaun Rogers was a beast
Lem Barney, I was just a little kid, but from what I remember one hell of a defensive back.
Mine is Cory Slethenger. The guy was a beast. Rumor was he had to replace his face mask after every game bc it would get beat to hell. Cory was 100% beast mode. I met him once in Allen Park when he was a teacher there.

I have 4, blades, crocket , white, jenkins

Billy Sims was great even though the team wasnt
Boss Bailey and Robert porcher
This is the hard part of having a good roster, good players are going to be waived because theres just not enough room. I feel like these next few years are going to be fun with a lot of tough decisions to follow.
I grew up in the Sanders era. As much as I love him, it was always Herman Moore that was my favorite. He is literally the story of coming from nothing (he was found in a dumpster as an infant), to making a difference.
One of my favorite players was the beast that was Fullback Cory Schlesinger.
I liked Mike Furrey. Just a guy with no shot at all, a camp body guy, gets one opportunity and gets almost 100 catches? Great story.
Billy Sims
Huh?
Mike Furrey was a jack of all trades type. He had way more than one chance.
Definitely not a “camp body”.
He had played as a S, a ST ace and WR. The lions maximized his values as a WR. But he had like 10 starts at FS a season before.
Massive swing and miss here.
Mine are Lem Barney & Barry Sanders, Lomas Brown.
Cory Schlesinger, Ernie Sims, Louis Delmas, & Joique Bell because he was played at Wayne state

chris speilman easy. benie blades was fav of mine as well

Jerry Ball. Absolutely dominated the the middle of the line.
Benny Blades!! Met him at a card show at my high school and I didn't have the $$$ to pay for his autograph, the guy in charge of the signing told me to get out of the line. So I walked over to the end of the hall and Blades left his spot and walked over and gave me an autograph for free. Hooked after that
