Perhaps someone could explain to me why the British regard the NHS (and not the healthcare professionals who work in it) as almost something sent from heaven. All of the developed world has healthcare and much of it is better than what is delivered in the UK, often for a lower price. This kind of religious fervour truly baffles me.

Nearly twenty seven years ago, my eldest son was born. He was 15 weeks early and weighed 720 gms (less the three quarters of a bag of sugar) he was actually heavy for his term. During the many weeks of wonderful care he received in his incubator, I read a note on the SCU notice board, there were lots of countries some in Europe, that at that time had a policy of no intervention before 28 or even 30 weeks. Some of the babies I'm sad to say, did not make it. But today we have a happy, healthy son who is making a contribution to the UK economy and to society. Thank goodness for the NHS. For average working people it's a Godsend.

So no health system anywhere in the world has ever successfully treated this man’s condition. Only s system using the NHS funding model could have done it?

Let's face it, we all need the NHS but...
The NHS has a hole in it's finances that cannot ever be filled! For many years now Governments have been trying to get things better but are getting no where, what's needed is a complete overall starting with a plan for it's funding.
We need to ask ourselves this: How much money will you commit to saving the NHS?
Don't expect the Government to pay for it themselves, it is us that pay the taxes that pay for the NHS!

You owe your life to the doctors, nurses and all the other staff, not the nhs.
Other countries, other systems have better outcomes, sometimes for less money.
How many avoidable deaths consequent to persisting with a failed system?

NHS doctors are among the highest paid in Europe but deliver one of the worst services in Europe.
