  • A lot has changed in the past 6 months or so in my business. In this video I will show you how I handle mobile appointments. Really it depends on the job, where it will be and what all it requires. I wouldn't take the same tools to a flat glass job.

    Well said buddy, quality above anything , enjoyed watching your video...just a question, do you tint in your home garage or have a shop (when you're not mobile tinting) cheers

      Currently out of my home garage. I did have a shop for about 4 months and loved it, however the landlord sucked and the tenants in the other half of the building had drugs in our shared bathroom, busted out windows in the parking lot that no one would admit to, etc. Way too much hassle and risk over there. I've been trying to buy a shop ever since but for no clear reason, the banks don't seem to take me seriously. I think they just don't understand the industry like they do restaurants and storage units. I've turned a profit every year after my first, for 6 years now but they always have some new reason every time I try. Lol

      That's tough. It depends on how you run your business. When I detailed, I kept it very simple, I bought my products in bulk and used mostly a local made brand which didn't have the same markup as say "chemical guys" or other major brands. I could get amazing results and never be over $5 hard cost in a car (minus travel expenses). Now if you want to use 37 different products on one detail just because the big companies tell you to, or you buy all your products "ready use" (like your all purpose cleaners and stuff) you can easily surpass that $5/car.
      Now let's look at window tint. You will usually have around $20 in film if you're using a quality product, but then you have to account for your slip solution, scrub pads, and glass cleaner. Etc.
      In my area, tint has a higher cost than detailing, and there is a lot less competition, so for me, I'd stick with tinting. Your area may differ, though.
      So there is my long winded opinion lol. Basically if you're thinking about doing one or both, sit down and try to figure out exactly how much cost you will have in the average car and what the going rate for that service is and decided for yourself.

    Can you link me to that cornwell blue ion light

      You have to get with your local Cornwell dealer. They don't sell their tools online
      Here is a better option though.

    How often do you go mobile

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  2 года назад

      Great question. It really just depends. I honestly don't like doing mobile jobs but I hate passing up money. Generally though maybe two or 3 times a month on average. Now the first 4 years I tinted I was mainly mobile. It was easier to sell customers on that because of how easy it was for them. Unfortunately most people have dirty, poorly lit garages so I had to make the choice to pick and choose where I go on mobile jobs because when you're tinting in the dark, it sure is hard to get a clean install.
