Love your techniques. The book making fascinates me, always has. Everyone uses different techniques and the outcome is always beautiful. When I do them, I use tea bags and water to stain the paper in different strengths and I cover the books with very thin leather from any old piece I find in yard sales, etc. I love your art form and the various scales you use. Thank you for sharing.
I have made different types of miniature books, but I have never tried your method. I thoroughly enjoyed your video! I'm going to try making a few miniature scrolls, like the ones you showed in this tutorial! They are wonderful! Thanks for your tutorial! ~Janet in Canada
I always wanted a dolls house as a child but was never able to have one, until recently when I decided to build my own. Using your video on the mini house you built I copied the pattern only it's 1:12 scale. Thank you SL much
Awesome tutorial. Love it..going to make them if it is ok. Your nails are stunning.....I would die for them....lovely colors and decorations are speechless. TFS!.
I have been watching a lot of miniature crafting videos lately (for D&D purposes). The other crafters are talented and creative, but you are two or three levels above them. Nicely done!
Absolutely phenomenal! I doubt I will have the steadiness and dexterity to replicate these accurately, but you've filled me with the inspiration and motivation to try anyway! Instant sub!
I always use coffee to make my paper look old.... Just use some crumpled paper, soak it a little bit, let dry over a rack and then add more coffee for more stains.
You can make the paper that she is using with black tea just in case you were wondering and if she said that you can make it with tea in the beginning I did not hear it ;-;
well, i did an ole practice try of a book, i wish i knew how to share, but i rather when i try better the next time and now i know my challenges. its lovely too do!
Would water colors work? I know they don't typically do well on some papers, but if you use a minimal amount would you achieve the same color/texture look?
Try tea, actually! I've always achieved really nice 'old paper' effects by using normal black tea (just don't steep it too dark) and gently dabbing it onto paper with a brush. Just be careful not to overwork the paper as you 'paint' it. Let it dry before applying more for a darker effect.
+Magdalena Jendraschek All kinds of acryl colors are opaque: if they don't cover properly, they are either not acryl colors at all, or you are using too much water. ^^ Try using less water or painting more layers until you have the effect you want.
I so want to try out making tiny books. My sister did it once when I was little, the tiny book was the same size as the one you made. She actually wrote in every page and drew tiny Pokémon pictures with a very fine mechanical pencil, making each page look like a Pokédex entry. She also made tiny crayons by carving out from broken pieces of the larger Crayola ones.

I think I'd rather use a very fine pointed calligraphy pen for the pages but very nice.
My sentiments exactly; my brush control is garbage, hehe.
Same, I'm much better with a caligraphy pen.
