    If the formula is E°cell = E°cathode - E° Anode then why are we adding the E° of cells here 55:23

    Mam , while finding nernst equation for Daniel cell , ln a - ln b = ln (a/b) , and so [ ln (1/Cu^2+) - ln (1/Zn^2+) ] = ln [ (1/Cu^2+) / (1/Zn^2+) ] = ln [ Zn^2+ / Cu^2+] .

    Ma'amsmall doubt! At 55:53, for that question, Why have you added both the Electrode potentials? Why have we not done E cathode-E anode? or E right-E left?

      In the question they have provided data of standard electrode potentials and have asked us to find the sum. That's why.

      No, in ur galvanic cell the anode is always negative and cathode is always positive
      The cathode is negative and anode is positive only in electrolytic cell
