Hi Noreen. I hope maybe this will help you. I had severe polyps and inflammation in my sinuses and they were completely occluded or blocked according to my CT scan. I went through a box of tissues a day. I had to have surgery, polyps were removed. I Still had problems with inflammation. I also got allergy shots because I was allergic to a lot of inhalants. Still had bad inflammation in my sinuses. I was at my wits end and my ENT had a light bulb moment and he said, let’s try one more thing. He prescribed me a solution called Pulmicort and told me to add it to a saline solution or distilled water and do a sinus rinse every day for a week. Maybe twice a day, I can’t remember for sure. But that completely cleared up all the inflammation. I could breathe and smell and taste again and I have not had any problems since. That was over 5 years ago. I hope you’re able to take this piece of info to your doctor and it helps you find some relief.

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better and pray that you continue to get better. I am excited about the vintage recipe book idea. I was given some super old recipe books and one of them is the original Hershey's Chocolate cookbook. Also, I have many community/church/Amish recipe cook books with recipes folks shared. It's been a while since I took an inventory of what I do actually have. But you are right! It's more special to turn those pages and read. I will confess though, when looking for ideas and recipes, yours is one of the first channels I go to. So Thank you so much for all that you do. Don't feel under pressure to do more than you can handle. Your health is the most important. Hugs!

I LOVE listening to you talk in your cooking vids..Its what makes you appealing.. I have been watching for like 7 years. Many times your voice has kept me company...I would love to see more crafting vids. I also like product reviews that are topical to your channel. When I listen to your videos it makes me feel like I'm cooking with my aunt it feels good in my heart, makes me miss her. Lastly let it be known I'm vegan and have been for a decade I adjust your recipes accordingly and have received inspiration and education to apply to my non vegan families meals. Keep it up stay strong!!

So happy to see you back Noreen! You look much better and healthier too! Thanks for giving us the update of what you have planned. I have to tell you that I have been a subscriber of yours since almost the very beginning and I often watch a lot of the older videos because they are so darn good and even though I have been cooking and baking since I was about 8 or 9 ( I am 75), I learned a lot from you Noreen! When you talked about the older cookbooks and recipe cards....I laughed because I, too, l have real cookbooks (books). I own over 800 cookbooks and many of them are vintage ones. They are priceless in my opinion because they do give us time stamps of our lives and what we ate. We did not eat processed foods when I was growing up. My mother cooked whole foods with butter, cheese, and yes desserts too but they were made with lard pastry and delicious fruits, ets, so at my age with no health issues, I say that what we ate was healthy. I am looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us and also to see that you are getting better and healthier every day! God bless you and Rick. (Nancy H.)

Many of your subscribers feel the same way about: cookbooks, yes opening the books, turning the pages feeling the paper
Having our eyes go over the recipe more than once. Repeating reading the directions more than once-I’m 75 years old.
I like your organizing of tea bags video and more from the older videos and more, your coffee creamers, fudges, and all of your food recipes. 🥰😋🤗

Ohhh how wonderful to see you again. Yes I have veey fond memories of those large recipe card boxes. When i first got married in 1982. . I had a subscription of cards through the mail like maybe monthly? You got an introductory gift box with the recipe box ..i remember i picked a red/orange color, they also had a green & I think yellow? And you got the divider cards along with your first shipment. And i definitely enjoyed looking at my cards & filing them.
I collect cookbooks, mainly Gooseberry Patch, Community, vintage, etc
My love of recipes was born in 9th grade Home Economics. We had so much recipe books in there .. I was in awe. Once we finished our work, we had quiet free time...I would get a book & just copy recipes. I'm now 60 & that feeling has never left me. I have a collection of Women's Circle Home Cooking. They were like TV Guide sized magazines.
It was fun reminiscing with you Noreen.
I had a rough 22& 23. I started doing my videos again after a couple years.
May 2024 be rhe best for all of us!!

I havent gotten a notification from this channel in YEARS!! Im so happy to see you back in front of the camera!
I learned how to make paprikash from your channel that finally appeased my late hubby and i was talking about it 2 weeks ago. ..lol.
And your Christmas Antipasta platter! Heaven!
Ok.. here is a thought regarding sinus infection & inflammation.
Wheat... vital wheat gluten... wheat germ...anything & everything wheat..
That is what causes my sinus infections.. technically, im not allergic to wheat, though i do have a variant of dna for celiac disease ( doesnt mean i have it). What i do know is that it causes me sinus problems and and joint inflammation specifically. Just had knee & hip replacements in 2023...
And speaking of!! Best & highest to you on your weightloss journey & hip surgeries! That was such a great recovery, i was shocked! I hope yours is as well!
    Much love!

Oh my goodness the recipe card files! I had one in the 80’s that was a subscription service mine was not complete because I couldn’t afford it any longer. It came in a weird green plastic box with a clear lid. So curious if you found anything like that. I don’t remember who made it. It disappeared, along with almost all my cookbooks, when I moved. I am so upset! I’ve tried and tried to track down some of my cookbooks but they’re old and out of print and hard to find. Would love to know if you found that collection! So glad to see you back and well. Blessings for 2024!

When I think of Noreen's Kitchen I think of a red check tablecloth. My first cookbook came from our milkman, Sunshine Farms. Every week a new section came with our milk delivery. My mom collected S & H Green Stamps. My dad use to get stamps with his Raleigh cigarettes. I would like some simple party type recipes for one. I Zoom with friends, and sometimes we do virtual meals together. I could use some appetizer and cocktail recipes. Theme ideas would be cool too. Books - Yes One of my favorite things is a Gurney's Garden Catalog. In the cold near the end of winter it's wonderful to dream and plan the summer garden.

Regarding weight loss Noreen I was put on Ozempic 2 wks ago. Fabulous results, have lost 6 pds and my blood sugar level has went from 180 down to 85 in that short time. I have had no side effects, Maybe you might want to consider this to discuss with your doctor. My appetite has drastically reduced which for someone like me who loves food this drug is a game changer.

So happy to see you pop up Noreen! I thoroughly enjoyed your chat! It brought back so many memories as I was married in 1977 and have always been a huge recipe collector and reader. I love to sit down with a good vintage cookbook and read it as you said, like a novel! Early in my marriage years I also collected the stamp books from the store, collected the recipe cards and saved the box tops to send in for little kitchen gadgets. I had completely forgotten most of this until listening to you. Funny enough, I don’t feel SO OLD or that I’ve been married THAT long but just recently I was on a decluttering mission and came to the realization that my original surviving kitchen items are now considered collectibles. 😮. At least they aren’t quite in the antique category…yet!
Thank you for the wonderful chat! I’m looking very forward to seeing what you are planning in the future videos. Sending you all of my best wishes and prayers for feeling better with each day!

2024 has not started out well for the family . I’ve had trigeminal issue been to Cleveland Clinic, gastric issues, RSV for over a month, then the stomach flu. And I already had long term Covid. I had no energy. I was talking to a friend and she suggested to stop using Himalayan salt and use regular table salt . I feel so much better these last 2 weeks. Might ask my Dr about heavy metals testing, from the salt. I hope you start getting well. I found I had horrible stuffed nose the whole time I was pregnant. Just felt like I could not breath from my nose. I’m sorry you are having issues.

Noreen, You were talking about getting teary eyed with childhood things. Seeing you on here made me teary eyed and I was trying to figure out why. You were the very first RUclips channel I ever watched many years ago along with Betty’s Kitchen. It brought me back to when our family was younger and everyone was home and many things were hopeful. You taught me elevated cooking in the midst of chaos with seven children in a homeschool household.
My mom passed away in 2017. She always told me I could have her cookbook she got when she first married. It was a Betty Crocker. My dad claims to not know where it is. I have hopes he will find it and give it to me. It had not crossed my mind to find one on EBay. I have been scouring thrift stores for one with no success as of yet. I also love reading cookbooks like a story and so did my Mama.
All that to say (you’re not the only chatty one), I’d love, love, love for you to make a recipe out of that cookbook if you have a Betty Crocker book that would have been current in 1970.
I am so glad you’re getting back to feeling better. I pray that you’re only getting better from here on out.
    Your SC friend, Susan

You’ll be the new six-million-dollar-woman! Or should we call you robo-woman? 😊. Prayers going uuppp for blessings on your surgeon and fast and successful surgery! (I went through sinus problems in the 90’s and eventually, through an MRI, they found a 2-inch tumor that they had to remove and I had to have the cartilage rebuilt inside my nose. I still have sinus problems but it was such a relief. No more pain and migraines. I pray you have good outcomes with your sinuses and hips!)

This is what I learned from being alive for 66 years ,carbs cause inflamation in the body epecially as we age, sugar, bread, pasta potaoes, rice cause havoc in the body ,and doctors know nothing about nutrition, keto and carnivore are the way to go,anyway your a special lady and we want you around for along time,so take care of yourself, your family needs you.

My dear friend passed away recently, she had 3 generations of cookbooks left in the house, thousands, not much family left, the remaining family was told to let me have whatever I wanted, then they could get rid of the rest however they wanted. It was hard to restrain myself as I am an avid collector of cookbooks myself, you would have gone nuts Noreen. You brought back so many memories talking about the recipe card files from grocery stores, my mother has some of those. Take care.

Can’t wait to see your Merch! I’m so glad to see you back and feeling a bit better. Noreen do you have any special recipes for those of us Type 2 Diabetics? I’m watching carbs and added sugars. Sounds like you are pulling out of that darn depression! One day at a time!

Gosh, I loved this video Noreen!! I am also a lover of all things vintage. Catalogs, dishes, recipe cards, etc. I have watched you for years, and enjoyed seeing your daughters in the kitchen, on occasion. Times have certainly changes since I was married in the 1970. Hoping you continue to feel better. I look forward to seeing you often on RUclips. ❤💚

Delighted to see you looking better. I've been praying for you. I will pray for optimal success and minimal discomfort. You are my go to for spice blends and delicious recipes. My mom and I collected S&W Green stamps and Blue Chip stamps. It was so exciting to go shopping with them. ❤❤

Hi Noreen, I am so very sorry that your doctor has no idea what the issue is with your sinuses. I have a question have they looked at maybe it is a fungus that may be in your sinus cavity? I really hope that you go to another doctor, maybe out of state. I really hope that you can get relief at one point. ❤ I love your videos today. I am doing your sandwich bread. I also wanted to ask if you have a sour dough starter video. I love the way you teach, you are very detailed and you speak English and not like some other videos. They give too much information and one gets lost. Great teacher!!!!❤❤ I've been wanting to do a sour dough starter, but some people say you don't have to discard. Others say you have to discard some other people who say you have to measure. Other people say you don't have to measure on a scale, so please. If you don't have a video on sour door starters, can you please make one. My name is Marisol.

Rebel is a video bomber and cute as can be! I have all my mom's recipes, cookbooks and they go wayyyy back because mom was born ini 1910 married in 1939. I have Brer Rabbit baking cookbooks from the 30's, and other cookbooks from the 30's right up to the late 80's. When she passed in 89' I inherited all of it and I love it. You are right Noreen, sometimes whether I'm using or just looking through all of it, it does bring a tear or two. How can it not?

Oh we love you so ! Keeping you lifted up in prayer ! And , yes, Mother got Gold Bond stamps and green stamps here in Georgia ! Yes, I agree that the decades that the recipe books were written reflect who was in office and the struggles we were going through trying to put food on the table. BTW I love the adoring way that your Kitty Cats look at you ! Thank you for your wisdom . There's not one video that I don't learn something from you !
