Are Cook Island drums heavier than Tahitian? Been trying to figure that out for the longest it sure does sound like it but just want to be sure before I tell a class that!
Tahitians don't use as many drums as the Cook Islands. The Cook Islanders have really refined the art. Other Polynesians use the drums as well but most just use a base type of drum and the typical hollowed out wooden cylindrical drum. The Cook Islanders have both of those but also have semi hollowed cylindrical drums which produce a higher pitch sound and the shark skin drum which is kind of like a bongo, it's played fast and you can normally hear it in the background. Just search "Cook Island Drums" on RUclips and there's a couple of videos which show the different drums and how they're played. Certain rhythms have been passed down through the generations.
Tiene algo muy sorprendente este estilo de música , suena igual a un PULSAR. Conocimientos antiguos de loa Dioses transmitidas a través del lenguaje universal de la musica?

It's basically EDM without the E, live instruments.
This instrument along with the Didgeridoo are two of the instruments i'd really love to learn. I wanna pate pate and hum along with didgeridoo.
That would be pretty sweet
