From multiple Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf, "Chicago P.D." is a riveting police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city's most heinous offenses - organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond. Handpicked as the head of the unit, Det. Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) has assembled a team of diverse detectives who share his passion and commitment to keeping the city safe. They include Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Det. Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), the newest member of the team with killer instincts, humor and smarts. Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) runs a tight precinct with tough love, although she lets her softer side shine through from time to time.

Atwater is so underrated. He is fierce but doesn’t go too far and can calm down people when they’re angry
He is also severely underused in this show.
@@kristinahunt2730 true
Depends on who it is, the only person who could talk Voight back was Olinsky. Halstead maybe but Voight is a real wild card x
For real @Wizzy
In some episode, atwater also went berserk, but usually on the bad guys, with believable/relatable reasons. So yeah, his character is the most balanced, other than halstead.
"You don't like the way I do business? I'm not woke enough for you?" That is the funniest thing that Voight has ever said, bro!
The word “woke” sounded weird coming from him
@Joe Whitehead your not wrong at all about that
@@gabebakker5862 Ha! Thanks, man!

Can you explain what that means
@@joshuacooper5254 The phrase pertains to the Black Lives Matter movement. When Voight said that, what he was really asking Atwater was "So you don't think I'm aware of what black people are going through?!"

Yup.
1:14 - 1:18, Hank’s face it’s full of rage and powerlessness 😶
PD: This is one of many good moments in this show
And Trudy knew it too. She was like *”Oh, God no”*
I know hahah she knows what that face means
Trudy knew right away, there was gonna be a murder in that building 😂😂
Voight is just rogue. Stabler and voight both being the boss would be interesting to see
Deep down Voight understood that his old methods are not gonna do in this new world and Kevin was right because towards the end of the episode he was ready to kill the guy with a untraceable gun which I am pretty sure he has thousands of times but this time he couldn't do it.
Hank really started questioning what he did in the last 10 seconds. I’ve done that sooooo many times, I yell or I freak out and afterwards I just feel stupid and guilty for what I just did.
No he didnt. After this scene he almost killed a guy who killed that girl. So i dont think he question or regret what he said
@@chicagovoightfan7440 Sorry about not understanding the full scene/episode as I haven’t got the entire series and only watch it on RUclips in clips but i thought of that straight away so it was kinda like my interpretation of the scene
@@sammy7419 Hank will always be Hank. He sleeps fine at night doing dirty things to bad people. But he does love his team in his own way, so having to drive them away when they don't have the stomach for the job hurts him.

I think that really hurt Hank to go at Atwater like that. Atwater would do anything he asked with no question. But at this point in this season Atwater is changing. And Hank doesn’t know how to approach Atwater at this time. I love this show💜💜💜💜
I always love Atwater because he always have the courage to stand up what he believes in. When something is wrong he always the one to step up and confront it head on.
@@pablovalencia8999 that’s Jay halstead really, he and Antonio are usually the ones who challenge Voight ethics

Great writing in this scene. I can totally understand why Voight and Atwater think the way they do. I liked Voight's comment about not being woke enough lol
Bruh that quote had me *dying.*
although it's hard to watch knowing the almost father-like-son relationship Kev and Hank have built turning into an argument, I like to see them go at it like father and son.
Agreed
Bruh Hank is like a father figure to everyone in his unit. Except Antonio and Al, who are more like brothers.
I totally agree about the father like son relationship between Atwater and Voight. It was hard to watch that scene. I was like what’s happening.
@@aaronhua8176 Al was his best friend 💯 he was also my favorite character and after he die I couldn't watch it no more😪 I start watch it lately again and to see Antonio gone 😭 I just can't take the show and I can't stand Hailey
Voight did mention that Kevin is like a son to him in the previous episode
Adam: Guys let’s not do this
Later when Kev grabs his jacket
Adam:(motions to Kevin to just chill) walk bro just walk
I love those two relationship. I’ve noticed in season like 4 and 5. They were a comedy duo🙂!
@@amberconey9683 yep
The moment Sargent Voight started getting heated I knew this about to get spicyyyyyy. I'm pissed off that they let Kevin just leave like that I hope he comes back.
Voight is classic example of the ideal cop. No nonsense, no holds bars.
& treats all perps just the same
First, Jay and Upton intervened in the Brennan case. Then Hailey herself led Hank to have to send her to New York. Now Kevin openly questions his order, still silently assisted by Ruzek. These are hard times for the Intelligence.
This show is going over the top of the spear.
Times are different thankfully.
Kev and Jay can now form the club of " If you don't like the way I do things in my unit..."
"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster."
Fredrick Nietzsche
Hank and Kevin got a little too heated in this argument. They both have a lot on their plate and it is not the time to be fighting each other. They always got each others back
I really think that Voight is going to change back to his old ways real soon
Both of them are in very difficult positions. This argument surfaced from both of them being stuck, in a way. Hank is afraid to change what he's always done with perps, wants to get justice for the families. Kevin is affected as a black man and a cop at the same time. He understands Hank's tactics. He gets that. He just wants to go about it differently, because of all the scrutiny the cops are facing right now, and the fact he was being set up by his own brothers in blue from other districts. I think they needed to both come clean and get stuff off their chests during this stressful time.
I feel that the Blue Wall would want to see Kevin and Hank go off and not be there for one another. They will come together. Kevin's heart is definitely in the role he plays. That's the real heart of that man. He's a Taurus, I was made by Taurus parents. Kevin's heart is in whatever he has to play.
Not really, no. Voight thinks that torture and hitting people without any real evidence against them is GOOD. Atwater finally realized that torture and hitting people without any real evidence against them is BAD.
I always say don’t mess with Hank. Kevin should’ve told him about the dope. Hank is the man and a good cop 👮♀️
*But hank was the one who told kevin to drop it & forget it tho......*
I know but he shouldn’t have hid it from hank
“Hank is a good cop” are we watching the same show 😭
@@anianicole *I mean technically he is.*
I understand this is tv, but beating up people in a cage to get them to confess is not something a good cop does.
Voigth: "this is my unit". Legit.
Love the face Trudy makes when she clearly clocks that Voight is gonna kill someone
No wonder the most violent criminal shriks when they hear his gravelly voice
This scene got heated, but for the right reason, cops need to be careful and change the way they do things
I agree 100% with you.
This did it right where even though it is hard to talk about it was still nice to watch where I feel SVU didn't hit the mark in the right way this week
Hank Voight had been a cop way longer than anyone in his department to know what reality is really like.
And Kevin is Black… no one else in the unit is.
And?
This is my #1 show Chicago PD is outstanding.🏡📺👵❤
Laroyce deserves an Emmy
Voight's right tho there's a line between wrong and necessary and what they do is necessary
That necessary got Kevin beat, setup, harassed. Every person isn't like Voight. Alot of people have their own agenda . Beating a person of interest in broad daylight because your partner was killed is flat out wrong. That necessary has terrorize black and brown people since the early 1900's. Its very wrong and I love Voight but he is apart of the bias blue wall culture.
Really great acting in this clip!
Idc what people say voight not changing for nobody
i still love the fact Ruzek said i'll do whatever you need me to do
Voight is a beast
I am with hank! This guy killed a five year old girl!!! Oh and also hank shouldnt change he is the best cop in chicago
Tbh hank should change the way he handles things, especially in times like this, it's gonna be hard for him to do that without getting caught and possibly being wrong, but I respect your opinion
I am not saying that hank should be violent every episode but i think that he still has to do sometimes dirty things or something like that because thats why i started watching this show because of hank voight and how badass is he and i am not saying that real police should be violent i am totally against that but this is a tv series its not a real life
@@sophietecle2991 oh and also i love disagree with him i think thats the best part of this show you sometimes disagree with characters or something that they did but you still like and support them
You can’t have it both ways. Hank does this because he’s a part of the old guard who would find this acceptable. Problem is that same old guard is coming after Atwater because they find it acceptable. Just because the old way was tolerated doesn’t mean it’s right because the younger generation knows change needs to happen and are willing to speak up for chance. And if you don’t think Hank understands that change needs to happen then why did he change his mind on going after the suspect after the fact?
@@DeadAir21 i get what you are trying to say but i think hank is using his old school methods when they have no other options. And if hank wouldnt use force sometimes there would be a lot more people dead and a lot more criminals out of jail. And you know atwater should support hank like hank is supporting him. Hank didnt ask atwater to do the dirty work he just wanted to put a really bad guy in prison and he would do the dirty work himself.
“Im not woke enough” I know he said it as an example but Kevin is going through some racial hate, that probably hurt him
@@mf8080 It wasn’t borderline racist. Insensitive? Yes. Inappropriate? Yes. Rude? Yes. Just, not the right thing to say? Yes. Racist? No. Just very insensitive.
Yeah cuz the word woke is against blacks😂😂😂 how stupid
@@mf8080 it really wasn't
I know Voight maybe be a lot of things but a racist isn’t one of them
Plus Kevin is already going through a lot especially since he told the truth about that evil cop Doyle and because the blue wall doesn’t like that they keep coming after him so that they can take his badge
But you know Voight and the others will have Kevin’s back regardless
@@mf8080 Ummm.....I'm pretty sure if voight was racist kevin wouldn't be in his unit.
Look...im African American. The mindset the writer's gave Atwater's character is he has had enough with police brutality. However, as any fan of the show can attest to. For Voights career he only uses the cage on criminals and he only uses the cage when necessary. So i am irritated with Atwater being so wrapped up in his own personal anguish that he let that cloud the type of man Hank is and his methods. I am not happy with Atwater right now.
I'm agree w you. I'm black too, and I can undertend how Voigth's mind works anyway
Totally agree I'm not liking this at all
@@chicagovoightfan7440 you're being a little biased right now
I am sorry but I have to disagree. I don't know what the solution to this problem is, but violence is not. Every racist police officer think they are doing the right thing; whereby they think that they are saving society, when they use "their methods", whether its police brutality or profiling, that doesn't make it right. What if Hank is wrong, and he breaks limbs to the point that the person's livelihood is ruined, or worse he kills someone? AGAIN, I am not saying I know what the solution to the problem is, BECAUSE I SERIOUSLY DONT. But as much as I respect Hank and his morals, I agree with Atwater here, where you cannot just let police do whatever they deem is right or necessary. And I think it is right of Atwater to question Hank here. Hank may be right most times, but many police men aren't. And we cannot treat Hank one way (ie. encouraging violence), because we have better insight into his morals, and treat all other police men/women another way (ie. hate their violence and brutality). THIS IS MY OPINION!
@@ashabay8450 You lost me at the beginning with racist cop. I am not speaking qbout any other police officer or detective. I'm speaking about Hank Voight. We have not only seen his methods but we also understand his psyche behind the reasons and circumstances for use of said methods. He doesn't use the cage on just any suspect. He doesnt use it on offenders who have any innocence about them. He has used it on criminals who stay in the system and also criminals who are part of a really heinous crime. So to answer your question. "What if Hank is wrong". I dont have sympathy for a suspect who has a history of battery against others, pedophilia, drug runners or bosses, etc. If Hank was wrong in his interrogation. Then hopefully his method in that moment scared the suspect in the cage into making healthier choices. Atwater knows this. He might not disagree with Hank. But its not about questioning Hank. Because everyone in that unit knows Hanks reasoning. Atwater knows Hank would never use the cage on the innocent. Atwater was so wrapped up in his personal life and who he was being treated, he lost sight of that. I understand why, but he should have known the difference based on their relationship.
I hate when intelligent fight first Antonio & Adam and now Atwater & Voight
And then there’s all the Jay & Hank moments
They're a close knit group and under a lot of stress. Arguments are bound to happen. Voight is know for having a temper and when he's scared he goes from 0 to 100 is a second x
God dayum Hank cuss everyone out😂 he said you wanna be a boy scout🤣
*I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW!!!!!*
And a good episode it was
Let's take a trip to the Silos

I enjoy watching chicago pd, i dont watch the other chicago programs ,guys keep up the great work.
Woww can’t wait to see 8 Season. I understand Sargent Voight, he is the best , He needs to find the way to do his job , no matters what !!
Not happy with Kevin's character development. Kevin's been with the intelligence unit for a long time, and he knows that Hank will do whatever it takes to put the bad guys away. A little girl dies, and the man who did it is in the next room, about to walk free. The whole racial issue is clouding Kevin's judgement
Plus, Kevin knows Voight isn’t racist
No it is not, in fact it makes things more clear
Welcome back Chicago PD. Haven't seen the real you since Olinski got shanked and died
Tbh I am on Hank's side because it wasn't about the fact that the guy was latino, it was about the fact that he shot and killed a little girl.
Atwater was in a bad position and Hank would be Kevin at risk because other cops were coming at him and they want to take his job. If he did that which was wrong and the other cops found out about it they would for sure report it
Brooooo I love voight
amo essa série 😍😍😍
lol he says whatever it takes at the end and they are both already gone. it's almost like he was trying to convince himself.
I am not woke enough to be done with Voight putting people in that cage. I'm sorry but I am not with the crowd who thinks people who commit heinous crimes should be given lollipop and cotton candy. I am for the cage!! My dear sweet friend was kidnapped, raped, murdered and partially burnt, so I have difficulty finding compassion for deviant cowards.
