I know the chap who did the original make-up for the film, he was one of my teachers on my SFX degree. Great job, I know this is not an easy make-up to do x
I'm not sure if it's deliberate in this recreation or not, but with the real Pinhead, the pins on his head are meant to be piercing into his skin rather than poking outwards. It's just a minor detail I feel I have to point out because I'm anal retentive like that.

did this several years ago.. used just a bald cap and an "old man" prosthetic face. I stuck the nails directly into the latex pieces and they held in place no problem when it was put on. The tension held them in place. This seems like way to much tedious work. The work comes in the paint job of the lines on the latex pieces. Its really very easy and super effective.

I love this video, it's really a good Pinhead imitation! Just one question: the "original" Pinhead also has gross teeth, with black spots etc. How would you go about that?
I have an idea add a little water to the latex and put it in a spray bottle so then when you aply it the paper doesn't rip u think spraying it makes it smoother as well
While I think you did an effective job of this the pin head or hell priest make up was usually applied in one piece of silicone and attached the nails between the scored edges of the facial matrix. The only reason I bring this up is because I think this look would take too long when you could've done something easier with the same effect. I suppose it helps with your version if there isn't a life cast perse but if they did this each day on the film the continuity would be lost I think and a lot of time wasted. Overall though I think you did a great job! Also in most all your videos you use latex- why not use silicone with paints and deadner? It makes a much more realistic looking skin especially with flicking fibers and light layers of colored silicone.
The whole purpose of this channel is to create tutorials with easily accessible and super cheap material so that basically everyone can create this at home :) That's why we stay clear of more advanced processes. Of course there are many ways to create this which would be much more efficient and realistic if you need to do it every day on set. But that's not really what this is about :)
ellimacs sfx makeup lol after watching a few more of your videos I realized how much easier this is for those home brew artists and as a kid in the 90s I would've benefited from a channel like this. The best I had was bits of my mom's old foundation and cardboard :-P So many of the other make up channels are easy to understand but materials can be very difficult to get outside of cities/dangerous to work with especially if you're just learning and having fun. Also just watched the video on the chatterer and that make up looks incredible! I was really really impressed! But I dig the whole vibe of the channel and totally subscribed :)
