    So interesting the idea about working an open stance BH with "kick out" when out wide ... can't wait to try that when back on court. Cheers

    I incorporate a variation to feel a little more casual in my home space; I add the simple birthday suit here which keeps me motivated for court time

    Could you show the footwork pattern when you're trying to return a deep ball on the 1h backhand please? Or link me to a video if you've done it already!

      good question, i think its a variation on running bh, you load up outside leg(in open stance) and swing while transistioning to front leg, since 1h backhand doesnt need as much rotation power as 2h. For agressive down the line normal closed stance. But i think best bet is slice when you are streached too much. Like Federer doing usually.

      Invys comment below is pretty on the money, we have content on this footwork pattern where a two handed backhand is demonstrated but it is the same footwork regardless of how many hands are on the racquet. The link is below, Thanks for watching!

    What about left handed players? Is it right foot in front for FH and left Infront for BH?

      Hey George, great question! That would be the case in regards to striking the ball with a closed stance (linear) but on the open stance and the kick-out method, you would lead with the left foot on the forehand and kick-out shifting weight again to the left foot. On the backhand it would be right-right. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    the same principle applies to one hand backhand?

    • @Playyourcourt
      @Playyourcourt  4 года назад

      It can when absolutely necessary but a closed stance and pivot step is utilized most often on the one hander. Thanks for the question and for watching!
