  • There was a 2016 Mustang being parted out, so I picked up the screen and APIM and installed it into my 2015 Mustang. Totally plug n play. Still waiting for the following from NaviUpgrade.com
    - gps sensor
    - car play hub
    - hub adapter shroud
    - hub adapter wire
Since it's the Sync 3 system from a 2016, I also need to get a USB drive to update to Sync 3 v3.0

So I bought a screen and bezel and what not that came off a 2015 car , I have a 2019 , I have the harness needed from
HellHorsePerformance, so is the only thing I need to change to make it work for sync 3 or better is to get an updated screen module?

So it’s just plug and play ? Can I get a screen from the 2019 mustang and swap it out with my 2015 mustang one

You need the screen, the APIM computer, the correct GPS wiring, and a carplay-supporting USB hub. I referred to the kit from Brian at naviupgrade.com. he has a helpful video here on RUclips

    Can a sync 2 fit a on a 2018 mustang

I guess you could technically install Sync 2 on a 2018 Sync 3 Mustang if you bought the screen and APIM, but I have no idea why you would want to do that because that would be a significant downgrade. I'm also not an expert though, so take this with a grain of salt

@@project_ij well I have a 2018 with a 4” but I just bought a screen and face plate off a 2017. The previous owner claimed it has apple CarPlay but I’ve heard that 2017 don’t have apple car play but some people say they do. Idk what’s the correct answer. I have the 2017 screen and face plate with me. What would I need for the screen to be compatible with my car. Thank you

@@andrewlopez3430 the 2015 is the only mustang that came with Sync 2. The 2016+ have Sync 3. My Sync 3 came out of a 2016, although I had to download an update to a USB stick in order to get Sync 3 v3.0 and use Car Play.
You can get everything you need to upgrade from your 4" display to the Sync 3 from Brian at naviupgrade.com. His RUclips channel also has a bunch of tutorials
