I'm planning on trying some waterfowl hunting this fall, and I just picked up a used Sportspal canoe (much like the discovery in the video).. so, this video is a perfect match!
Thanks for the video! I've been using an H12 for the past few years and go offroading with my deer cart. It's pretty dang heavy and I'm liking the 119 as an option. 27#'s lighter!! Might have to trade up...
I just got a 1232 jon Boat that i am thinking about setting up for duck. I have a kayak but i don't feel safe trying to hunt from it. here in Maryland if you don't have private land you basically have to try to reserve a blind on public land and there is only one with disabled access. so i been throwing around the idea of making a scissor blind for it for solo hunts.
@@FreelanceDuckHunting yeah its 12 foot but i dont plan on hunting open water with it. more or less just pulling onto a wooded bank and using it more as a blind. just easier to access most parts of the bay here by boat.
If you can check out stillwater 12 too. Not camo but with all the 3m camo out there now a days would be easy to set up. I like it for it is light weight and pretty wide and I think per stats can carry 750lbs. I have used it like a layout before with resting head on seat area while sitting on the floor. (Found a blind that covers the canoe years ago and works ok.)
@@FreelanceDuckHunting 50lbs. I just checked old towns web page and doesn't look like they make them anymore. I got it before the kayak craze took over. Can carry two people for fishing and I can throw it on the roof of vehicle myself. It is short and fat/wide.
Great video! That solo sportsman is sweet, but man that $1000 price tag! Do you guys ever use carts to portage your yaks? I ordered an all terrain one from Suspenz to use for my yaks and even to use when towing my sled.
I watch a ton of your videos, good stuff. Keep em coming! I'm not here to be a negative Nancy but when you sat in that canoe, it looks way too dang small for a full size human. Seems unstable. I like old towne stuff and maybe they are a sponsor or they gave you that canoe. But can I suggest you look at the sportspal by meyers canoe. I think youd be MUCH more happy and stable/secure during cold water hunts. It's a bit more expensive but there no price I wouldn't pay for stability. Check out the specs on the S-14 sportspal.
Thank you for the comment. I have an ascend H12 I use in situations where I need to be more stable. I should have said this on the video but I wouldn’t take this load in deep water. This would be for shallow water marshes. I have never tipped this rig.
I’m all for stability. I added an outrigger (homemade ) to my canoe to help with floatation and stability. I also tuck my gun under the seat just in case I do spill the contents again. Thanks for the videos!

Always good hunting advice and content in your videos. They are authentic. Keep up the good work, and here is too a better year for 2021.

How long is your Jon boat? 12 footers are extremely dangerous. The set up on this video is for shallow water

Keep posting videos and I’ll keep liking them..Happy New Year men
To you and the rest (Fumbles, Golden Boy and Dan the Man)

How heavy ?

How long are your average paddles in these boats? A mile or less?
Up to a mile
Love your videos, Elliot.
Thank you Larry
How do you find the stability with a dog in the boat.
Train the dog to sit in the canoe. Also realize this is a shallow water set up.
You don't use the h12 anymore?
I love the H12. But there are times in which the 119 is a better choice. Mostly when dragging the boat into the spot
Awesome vid man thanks!
Isn't that the kayak you sometimes use a troller on ?
No, that’s the ascend h12
Finally first to comment. Love your content and your faithfulness to God.
Thanks Jeremy
I’ve been trying to find one for a year
Did you pay for it?

Absolutely, we use deer carts
@@FreelanceDuckHunting That's awesome, you'll have to do a video on how you do that!

More like HTR Blowout Lounge!!! (Right Elliott???). 😟😭
What happened to your blind again?? Lol
I have 2. One of which blew out of the boat on the highway the day I hunted with Josh 😔
@@FreelanceDuckHunting I only ask because you didn't put that into the video lol
