We have a problem with pigeons roosting under our solar panels. Not Tesla solar panels but same issue.

Hey! I know mark rober has found out a way to keep the solar panels clean. He made a video called: ”worlds largest lemon battery” where in a part of the video he does a diy (but fully functional) solar panel washing system.
Like so he can see!
That video was just to see if it was possible. It was not practical at all

Nice Dan!! Im getting my solar soon. Install date 3/10/21. My system will have 63 panels with 3 PWs. 21.42kw system. Whole house backup for up to 8 days.
I live in Houston, Texas and it snowed here about 2 weeks ago and the power did go out but we are thinking of getting Tesla Solar Panels too!
You need a battery wall. Solar won't do anything if the power is out.
The "loud fall things going on" (ie the leaf blower) is why you must constantly wash your solar panels.

I imagine this will bring in some decent work for the company Dan put forward. In a very affluent area of Utah so I could see there being a demand, especially when all the neighbours find out and want to play "keeping up with the Jones's"

Interesting to know that a person and a trained solar panel installer (that took a process getting certified) can go through all the required power calculations, install all the panels and all the wires and the power wall AND THEN need more panels 3 months later. I NEED MORE PANELS !! Go for it dude.
Decorate your house with large round decorations with coloured circles across sorta looking like an Owl's Eye! The doves will think it's an actual Owl's eye and won't apporach as they're natural dove predators! Just think how you can implement that to your house.

He's got to have at least $75K all in. Probably more. Return on investment is a LONG ways down the road.
Way too much......for 20% of the energy he uses. Imagine how much global damage this guy is doing with that other 80% he uses. Maybe he should try living in a small house if he really wants to save the ozone.

Congrats on your solar panels, you've restored my faith in you!! I wish people would talk about solar ROI like this: solar may take years to pay off but, you're producing 100% clean energy during that time and you will NEVER pay off grid power, it will always go up and up and up. Nice PowerWalls as well, look forward to Tesla putting the 46/80 cells in them one day.
You could have the solar panels ceramic coated then dust and dirt wouldn’t stick and they would be much easier to clean

I'm not sure if you've heard of this idea...I lay out some fishing line maybe an inch or two above where the birds perch on your roof @ 7:48....Lay it out end to end...the birds won't be able perch because the line is too thin and its in there way...even a couple of lines on your front fence....stop them from pooping on your fence....

Dynamic UPS is also the way. It almost makes more sense for houses than batteries. Powerwall is also cool tho 👌
I would use them as they are with the dust on them to gauge the power then again after they are cleaned.

Now you know how I feel when I have to do a new store install for McDonald’s or raising canes. It is such hard work doing IT / low voltage cabling. If it didn’t pay as good as it does I wouldn’t do it.

How many KWh is the total solar setup?
I'm not sure how much energy is stored, but he said that each solar panel is 340 watts and there are 59 panels. That would mean 340*59 = 20,060 watts which would equal 20Kw. That's assuming the solar panels are under perfect conditions and that there isn't any overhead anywhere in the system which is highly unlikely.

@@robertwoodliff2536 Our energy is currently mostly produced by coal but if nordstream 2 is finished we will be relying on Russian gas. Nothing wrong with nuclear power but as long as there is no really good storage for the waste, it makes no sense to run them any longer.
