    elzhi killed with the literary metaphores damn! "they say you never judge a book by its cover, though you appear as materialistic just like the others, so i followed your words to take 'em in - and i don't see what you saying so they comin' off paper thin, thats when i felt that i would need to, do more than just look you up and down to see if i could read you, and try to get inside your head only, not just stick my fingers in your middle just to get you to spread for me (opening a book ref.), so what i learned on my path to discover, your story took one ugly turn after an other, i saw we wasn't on the same page, i would have gave you strong play but your words rubbed me the wrong way, so now im closin' the case, you only out for the paper back it's written all over your face! (DAMN!), yo El 'll never judge a book by it's cover, until he seen what was inbetween and look at what lies up under. DANM! that's ill, Elzhi is understated.

    First of all, shouts out to Drake for paying 9th for the beat because they did Elzhi dirty on the other version. And y'all know EXACTLY what I'm talking bout! lol It was a HARD CUT before the sensei could get a syllable out so it's nice to hear all TREE verses.
    Secondly, I see a lot of people kinda clowning drake for getting outshined. Peep. Drake was a student first. So getting on tracks with people that are better rappers is a humbling, learning experience that's necessary for character development and growth.
    Thirdly, without Drake... THIS SONG WOULD'VE NEVER HAPPENED. And even though Phonte and El easily had better verses, the part of the song that gets stuck in my head is always "we know what you thinking luuuuuuuuv." The hook is extremely important and that's one of Drake's strong suits. CHORUSESESESESES.
    Case N' Point- it's bigger than who had the better verse. The subject matter comes from the hook on this track, and the vibe was created by 9th wonder. That's essentially the foundation. Phonte and Elzhi were perfect contributions to the banger, but dat hook doe...."yeah man"

      YSFalcons420 I adore elzhi even have his name lined up for my not yet born son but Jay z is the best rapper alive the better you become as a mc (I am one) the more you realise. The way jay always puts flow before words evident by the way he is different on every track yet never looses any lyrical capacity is practiced genius. He has done every type of rap from deeply personal to bragging better than anyone. Transition to Story of OJ from this track hear him glide like no man alive. Slow flow with inter changing rhythem, no one else is doing that without sounding rougher than a dog ass.

    That whole Elzhi verse is a book metaphor.

    Tho you appear materialistic just like the others;
    So I followed yo words to take em in;
    And I don't see what you're sayin so they comin off paper thin..."

    If this is Drake's Finest work then I no longer have any regrets with saying that he is a sub par MC. I mean he is good at selling albums and kills the radio spins, but I will be damned to call him the new face of Hip Hop. And why is it that we give these cats passes like "he used to be dope before......" Phonte wrecked this jawn and if you have to ask who is the better MC then you already lost!
