Thanks for posting this build review!! What a nice little heli! Rmk: the tail fin is the part of the tail that touches the ground when the heli is stored without battery and with the main blades folded back. It keeps the tail rotor blades from contacting the ground. I do believe that part is carbon fiber.
Thumbs up. More people should care about small helicopters for their natural high endurance of flight time. I modified my 230s to become a FPV helicopter at 249 grams and HD onboard video recording that flips and snaps with 35 minutes of flight time per charge. No quads under 250 grams can ever beat that, not even professionally designed DJI. They either have to change a battery and going over 250 grams, or they have to turn off HD video and turn off FPV and navigation and make the drone fly in a circle at constant speed to get that advertised 35 minutes per charge, and even then, they can't snap or flip.
Any advice on TB40 tail rotor setup? It seems there is uneven travel / More travel rudder left than right. How did you setup your rotor? Do you notice any issues in flight?
I have plenty of adjustment for my two different tail servos (KST Ds565 and Theta THM982) in the tail rod. I set up with tail blades a few degrees to the right to counter torque and up up pretty close on left and right travel in the radio, but not exact numbers (not required).
Hi Ray, I am building this heli now and was wondering if the ESC comes in GOV Mode? It will have a Futaba radio and Spirit 2 FBL controller. Just built a OMP M4 and M4 Max last year and this heli is a bit more complicated to put together. My two OMPs fly great with their direct drive motors on the main shaft. Very simple to maintain. All three helicopters use the same batteries.
I am not sure what default is TBH. The program box is fairly cheap, I would get that if you dont have it already. If not you have to set it with beeps! NO thanks,
Hello I bought this it tipped over on take off very disappointed destroyed gearbox I have goosky Heli,s they not do this, not buy Align again I am not new to Heli,s lots of work for nothing !!!!

You may be right, thanks

Very nice, can’t decide if I want one of these or not. Looks like a very nice kit.
Nice job Ray!

Thank u! I have the tb70 and I'm looking
At the tb40. Aligns manuals are definitely not the best. How's performance and power?
I'm a beginner, but it feels like it's got loads of torque. Physically the motor is huge.

Your tail fin is carbon fiber. Are you referring to your tail blades?
Where are you getting those servos for $20? I have my kit preordered and need to get some servos.
Seller on ebay. Just search for MKS ds95, should come up. I have no affiliation.
for what purpose do you use the super lube grease? is it synthetic grease?
It's a silicone grease that I use on body grommets, O-rings, head and tail shafts and dampers.
@@raymhuang do you use it in thrust bearings? Or what type of grease do you use in thrust bearings?
@@RotoRCol no, I use a thick grease called Botolube that is easy to apply with an injection type dispenser right into thrust washer.
thanks@@raymhuang
Do you sell your helies?
No separate bec?
Built into HW ESC, but I could. Do you think I need one?
Would u buy it again?
I now have two
What is the battery size
1800 HRB for me, but I think a little heavier better to balance.
More like 7 hours to build and yes, is buy another though I love my Gaui X3s.
@5:35 you farted. Nice.
