Excellent description of how the Orbit feels - Nice to see a video that doesn't just say "loops better, jumps higher, rides well overpowered" with nothing to back it up. I can confirm the light bar pressure making you feel like you aren't lit and have a comfortable ride when in fact you are very powered and are going to jump big. Some people might hate it but I'm loving it, when you do go for the jump you go big even if you didn't feel like you have power. Takes some getting used to. In addition it helps stay out for longer sessions without getting your arms tired, and it makes looping with grabs easier (need less power to loop the kite). For me at 80kg the 9m is rideable from 18-40 knots, but it is enjoyable when gusts are at the 23-35 knots range.
For a long time I thought this was all just marketing speech. Demo'ed a '21 Orbit 12m in sketchy conditions, instantly fell in love. Got my 10m a few days ago and had a mega session yesterday (thanks wind-god!). This kite is just MEGA. I'm riding 11m Edge and 10m Orbit now. 16-35 knots covered with having a choice depending on the mood when it's 22-26 knots. I really love kiteboarding right now!
Tried out the 8m orbit 2022 with a core sensor 3 bar, wouldent recommend that due to the difference on v-position. Otherwise smooth kite when everything plays well.
Why didn’t you like it? I want to test just that because I don’t like the north bar. If iit doesn’t work with my core bar, I’ll buying the re-edit bar or any bar that has the same auto untwist as the core bar…
@@moritzm2143 I also tried an Orbit once with a core bar. It was crap and if I didn't know it was due to the bar I would have never considered even trying the kite - It was that bad (it would stall and lack power). Could have also been the bar being old rather than the V split, no way for me to tell, but still it is generally not recommended to use a V split that the kite wasn't designed for. With a North bar - I'm loving it.
@@galzohar oh that's interesting, thanks! It makes sense that it lacks power with the core bar since the Y-lines aren't directly going to their attachment points but take a way around the outside. Thus shortening the power lines while being at an angle. I guess I'll have to shorten the back lines accordingly. But even than the angle of the power lines to the middle pigtails is different than intended. I should buy a North/Reedin bar. I'm not smarter than the north designers...
Hey Howie I asked North for over two years about the bar for a upgrade to automatic butt there still manually unfortunately… So I ride all my Orbits with A Duotone click bar

Smart choices, 11m Pivot and 11m XR7 here... mood and venue.

Hey Shaun, how do the center lines unswivel with the navigator bar? Automatic like @duotone or manually

That's my dawg! This guy knows about fly'n high!
I stand by all of these claims 🔥🚀
Have you ridden a 14 m in light wind? Does it work well? I just took my 14 m out and thought I would be lit, but felt really under powered.
Is good for beginners?
Should be ok, lots of depower in modern kites nowadays.
bad ass!
