    Plan on a video of the GPS system I saw on IG? Been thinking about the same thing, just not sure of all the options and what to look for.

      it's the SoloStorm Connectivity Package
      it's a GPS receiver, a OBD2 adaptor, and the app.
      I use it a lot

    I do wish someone would design a race swap for 3rd gena

      Ya a power rack would be awesome

      @@jason7475 it's funny, so years ago I read there was a tubular crossmember that could run a rack, but it said only a non power pinto rack had enough travel to work. but these days guys are completely redesigning front suspension. the drifting world seems to be leading the way. my c6 had horrible angle and slow ratio. made it very unenjoyable to drive and kinda scary to drive at the limit with all the handling aids turned off. just to slow of ratio to catch a rear end slide before it became a big deal and zero self steer. FDF fab makes a simple bolt on kit the moves the tie rods back a bit on the spindle, it's meant for drifting but i don't drift, track and mountain. just made the whole car drive better. 2nd track day with it, was 4 sec a lap faster with all the aids off and was comfortable letting the car move around because it is so much faster to catch mistakes while small. they have gone as far on their pro car c6 to move the whole rack back and change it to a BMW unit. I say all that to say it's not out of the question for someone to make some spindle mods and use a rack from a different car bolted to a tube crossmember. it's byond something I could do in my garage but what guys these days can do with a water jet table and software is amazing.

      getting a rack and pinion to work on a 3rd gen is basically impossible.
      the geometry required makes it one crazy job to achieve.
      there is a flaming river Chevelle rack and pinion with the correct center link geometry, but that would be a crazy job to get working correctly.
      while a nice rebuilt steering box/Links gets you 95% of the way there.

      Can't be that hard if a manual pinto rack works

      @@jason7475 I think I remember reading that just no one makes a power rack that's long enough to get the Pivot Point in the correct place. something I think could be fixed by a aftermarket spindle. look up hawks, they have pics of the pinto rack on a spohn Crossmember.

    do you have to jack up the car?

    • @3rdGenGuy
      @3rdGenGuy  Год назад

      yes, as mentioned in the video.
      the front tires need to be off the ground.

    It should bleed just driving it also

    • @3rdGenGuy
      @3rdGenGuy  Год назад

      it doesn't bleed itself if you drive it.
      the air bubbles get trapped and will froth. Making for a poor feeling steering system

    • @runslikeapenguin
      @runslikeapenguin Год назад

      It will froth each time you drive. Then when the car is shut off the froth in the reservoir will settle out of the fluid. Then you start it again and froth the remaining air into the fluid, then whats left settles out . . . . . so yeah after like 200 drives you'll be all bled. :D
