Very good recipe. I made it for my child care and 9 out of the 10 kids loved it. The 10th child said his mom's taste better and comes in a blue box. :)
I'm going to make it again this week and have that blue box sitting out when I serve it. See if that 10th child will eat it than. lol

Add a table spoon of mustard. It will bring out the cheese taste.

Good idea but a tablespoon sounds a bit much.
Shawn Watchorn it won't be with that much mac and cheese. You won't taste the mustard but it will bring the cheese flavor out.
Most recipes call for powdered mustard which is more concentrated so a TB of prepared wouldn't be all that much.

This works with protien pasta too. If any of you buy lentil or chickpea pasta. Cook 6 minutes. And add some cream cheese helps with stringy texture. This recipe was delicious.

Actually, salt slows the boiling process. The water and salt form ionic bonds, which requires more energy to boil.

Salt doesn't make water boil faster, but raises the boiling temperature slightly, so the macaroni cooks faster. Having physics and chemistry taught me this.

If you don't prefer it so stringy, don't use mozzarella cheese. Swiss or Jack or any kind Of cheese can substitute for the stringy mozzarella.

What can you use as a replacement for the half and half?
Milk, but you may need to thicken it first.
allballcontent ig from my own cooking experience, I know that you can use any type of milk ...whole milk, 2 % milk, 1 % and even non fat milk will work. Other Macaroni and Cheese recipes even use evaporated milk in them!
Use 1 can evaporated milk.
I do some Bechamel sauce ( 1/2 L milk, 50-70g butter, 1 /12 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tsp grated nutmeg. Boil the milk and the butter with the cornstarch until the sauce thickens (like a runny honey). Add the nutmeg and some grated black pepper. It does not take long to make it. It gives mac'n cheese a good taste.

Was the pot a 3 quart; or 6 quart; or 8 quart?
I have a 3 quart pot; and I don’t need to add as much of the ingredients that this girl has placed into her pot.
ive nvr seen any1 use mozzarella in mac n cheese
I followed this recipe using my instant pot, and 6 minutes is *not* close enough. I put it in for 6 on high pressure, same amount, and it was hard and the water hadn’t fully been absorbed. I suggest putting it on for a lot longer.
