HARLEM is a neighborhood in Upper Manhattan, New York City. It is bounded roughly by the Hudson River on the west; the Harlem River and 155th Street on the north ; Fifth Avenue on the east; and Central Park North on the south. The greater Harlem area encompasses several other neighborhoods and extends west to the Hudson River, north to 155th Street, east to the East River, and south to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Central Park, and East 96th Street. Originally a Dutch village, formally organized in 1658, it is named after the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands.

I am a native New Yorker born in 1955 growing up in East Harlem. Today I live on the Upper Westside near Central Park West. I love my city, New York City. Boricua all day every day!
it's jhettothuggish razzist city
@@mikewilliams9069 Did you take your meds this morning?
@@daddygrace253 it’s a piece of shittrassist city meds or no meds
I am too a native NY born in 1955 Madison Ave on East 116th street loved it too 🥳
You're the same age as my mom. Nice.
a nice place to walk with the gentlemen to an elevator to get to the party
Wow!! A trip down memory lane. I lived in Harlem New York for nearly 10 years one of the best, informational and happy times in my life. The big apple is, was, and still is just awesome the good the bad and the ugly.
NICE WALKING TOUR OF HARLEM RICH IN HISTORY !!😊
Thank You 😉👍🏻
Hello from Germany, I really like videos like this. I like everyday life, normal life on the street. I notice that there are extremely many German cars on American roads. In general, I find it a pity that the fantastic cool old American cars have almost disappeared.
👏👏👏🌝
Great memories and lots of those Old American Cars are in Havana Cuba
I love these trips. Thanks for the ride.
Don't worry, they are in private collections, being well taken care of.... My favorite Automobile was my 1984 Volkswagen Sirocco, Wolfsburg Limited edition.
Thanks ! I randomly found this. I haven't been to New York in 30 years. Kind of makes me realize how much I'd like to go and just walk around like this.
New York is wonderful and beautiful city! Harlem is wonderful and beautiful district of New York! Everybody is free to live their LIFE as they want!
Remembering living in NY. You can do your own thing in the way you dress and not even be noticed like you would in some of the other cities. People just living their lives.
So true ...
Thanks to share with us this experience!
Harlem is one of the most desirable properties on the planet.
yup once they got rid of the blks
Yeah, right
Amazing! Very happy to go on a journey with you! Thanks!
Thank You 🙏🏻
Beginning of a new week in Harlem as you promised Julien. Have a great August! Thanks for bringing us NYC vibes as well! 🇫🇷✨❤
Waw you guys are chilling
Hope to visit the US and New York one day. Thanks for the virtual tour though.
HARLEM 😍😍😍
Nice video of Harlem. I was there July 4th weekend and we ate at Sylvia’s. We also walked to the Apollo theater and Harriet Tubman Statue
Wow. Excellent capture.

I find your videos soothing.. your a long way from me 🇬🇧
You walked right on the street I grew up on in the early 70s to the early 80s but u walked in the opposite direction on W 120th street. Brought back memories...Great video..
Thank You Maurice 👍🏻
Good vibes around Harlem
Пусть отдых принесет радость, а лето подарит вам счастье и настроение...
Thanks ! I randomly found this.
Great video! 👍👍👍👍👍
Great video
Nice video I’m glad you didn’t play music and let the sounds of the city be the music. Born and raised in New York City Central Park best part in America
Thank You 😉👍🏻
Thanks for walking Harlem, mostly very maintained Area, nice Houses - i think for a lot of People a good Place to life, but a lot of empty Spaces for rent. Have a good Week.

I grew up in the Boogie Down Bronx from a 6 year old child my hometown. Leave in 2004 back in my birth city Jamaica. Love the states know everything about all borrows been everywhere. Glad you went in the hood still people don't really know that the area is some what stopping ground to many. I use to live on East 102 between Lexington & 3rd Ave for about 3 years and 155 street & St. Nickolas avenue so I been there and done that. When I see this video I reflect back and said wow ! The streets have changed they look a little cleaner, see alot if wells Fargo stores around these guys are taking over ? Anyway it still looks great and have some connection for it but I am home in the sunshine Paradise country of Jamaica. Thanks for the video I can still watch and reflect. Peace to everyone.
Thank You Paul 🙏🏻
@Paul - Why not comment all this on his Bronx video? What does this have to do with Harlem, my guy?
I'm from New York originally l love to go back to visit the last time I was there it was 2013 to see the big ball drop on New year's Eve!!!!!!!!! Lol🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Memories...I lived in the Bronx city for many years. I moved to Fl. State, because of the weather. Definitely NYC, is a beautiful and active city. Thanks for giving me a tour of such a beautiful city.
Thank You Zita 🙏🏻
it's a jhettothuggish city
not wen Trump coming to get all of you that do not living in a American your will be going back to Mexico
@@deborahford9025 Hmm 🤔… why Mexico ?
Nice video 😘
Showing outsiders/out-of-towners clips like this dispels many negative stereotypes of Harlem BUT at times u gotta' still WATCH YOUR BACK
*** Later in the day things start to change---REAL TALK!
yeah at least til they get rid of the leftover blks
True but if you mind ya business more often than not you'll be fine.
Great video. I was born in Harlem hospital and lived on 131st and Lenox. This took me back. 😊 Thank you
You are welcome Michael !
I was born in Harlem hospital also lol in 1963 I grew up in Drew Hamilton projects but I live on the east side now . For me a lot of the aura and essence Harlem once had is gone I noticed even Harlem week didn't have the same feeling it use to have back in the day.
@@theclasmalls4406 Whats different about Harlem and Harlem week?
@@lifestraight The same thing that's different about the African American Day parade. If your from Harlem and grew up attending these events you would know none of these events have the same crowds none of the excitement that these events use to bring. You could barely move in the streets it was so packed definitely has changed
I'm not from New York but I adore it
I visited South Bronx, NYC & it didn’t change a lot. Seen my brothers & the rest of my family there 2 years ago. 7:05
Very neat photography
Thank You !
This feels very safe, like home.
Thankyou
looks like a very nice neighbourhood

Harlem, from the Luke Cage series 💛
Can you make video 142st i was there and i really miss that place .....😔
Wow thanks for sharing! Took me down memory lane! I ran them streets and so much has changed. Mixed emotions here!!! Very congested…..
Too gentrified that's what bothers you. It bothers me too
It wasn't as congested before?
@@lifestraight nope it was not cars everywhere!!!!!!!!! No where to park
How come the sidewalk in Harlem is so wide? Compared to other places... just a thought...
Your video made me homesick. I live in Virginia now miss New York so much
Thanks for the video, it was wonderful. Next time, try to include The Liberation Bookstore and Arturo Schomberg Library wherein African American giants met, and a diasporic mixture of scholars and poets gathered, with over 90 languages met at one time, foreign and domestic scholars. "THANKS FOR THE MEMORY LANE, c'est fantastique... Graduate from The City College of New York's CUNY....
I'm Harlem born and bred. This takes me back to my childhood years in Taft houses. Thanks for the memories

Hello! Can I use this footage for a video I am making for social media? I am creating a mini doc about a real estate agent who grew up / has lived in Harlem his whole life. This would be perfect content to use. let me know. Thanks!
Can you send me an email ?

1:30 mintues is funny. guy almost falls, 3o secs later another guy digging for cheese lol
Haven't heard that term in ages 😂

What kind of camera use to record this videos ? Thanks
For this video I used my Iphone 13 pro and a DJI Gimbal.
In some videos I use a Gopro Hero 10

Fun Fact: This neighborhood is where Bruce Banner broke. Specifically where Hulk fought Abomination in The Incredible Hulk.
I like black people ❤️
19:31 Joe Proposition ?
You need to check the copyright law. I say this because you are walking through an area that is playing music you have not uploaded the music on to you content and neither have you been asked to imbed it either.
Now that you have shown me Harlem, I would like to visit.
Thank You !
About the music, it comes from the RUclips algorithm. It automatically demonetizes (I don’t know if it’s a vern lol) my video …
@rosa - lol, you need to check RUclips Law. It doesn't matter how music gets on your video, it will be demonetized. Even 8 seconds of it!
✋👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤🌹
32:00-43:08 so does West 125th street have a large Jamaican and Anglophone Caribbean community?.
No. Most are from West and Central Africa.
@@ironklad5484 Mainly Senegalese (West African) and Congolese (Central African)?.
I PUT A NEW FORGIS ON THE JEEP
It looks a hundred times better than the black areas of Chicago, Philly, Detroit etc etc.
Black areas? Because All white people live upscale & don't commit crimes right?
Because the area you stated was affected by deindustrialization, depopulation, official municipal disinvestment and underinvestment, suburbanization.
You mfs are obsessed with Black people, it’s literally insane

How do I know Harlem isn't one of the dangerous parts of NYC?
Lol other boroughs got Harlem beat on that now.
Used to be horrible, like the south bronx but now looks nice like any neighbourhood.
@@l.n963 Sorry all of Harlem was not horrible . Did you actually grow up here?
@@l.n963 That's the same thing in Bed-Stuy
less blks
Looks cleaner. But the gunshots. Still around
Aint the Harlem from the 80s Ill tell you that much lol
Зловещее гетто выглядит на уровне парадных улиц российских городов в Замкадье
Gentrification!!!
Harlem was black
Se aprende viendo a las gentes caminar: sus rostros. Uno aprende que es iguel en todas partes; la misma mierda en todas partes.
All the real fun and culture of Harlem is gone! ...
Boring and corny now, ... no real culture there
Gentrification!
I just made a comment about how the whole aura has changed in Harlem I'm 59 and born and raised here and walking up 125th street depresses me now
@@theclasmalls4406
yes, Its intentional to erase us and our culture
Harlem now boring and dull
Only people who haven't lived and experienced Harlem from back in the day are hyped up about Harlem now.
@@theclasmalls4406
Exactly
Its too much chains, corporate shit etc. pretty much every city is like this nowadays, poeple on the phone, walking fast, not talking much, not interacting, running to the next thing instead of living in the moment. its not only in nyc
and we are very connected through the internet, which prevents new cultural things developing because everybody seems to be doing the same lame ass shit like instagram tiktok business
Cities are very boring if u dont go to a specific place now
dangerous area
Doesn't look dangerous
@@fivehundrediq5212 its harlem
@@grovestreetmember2648 right because every inch of Harlem is ran down & violent even though the video showed otherwise
No it's not.

didn't expect so many white people, to be honest. . . a banana republic AND a gap? sheeit! y'all know this how we lost egypt, right?
Harlem? Are you nuts? Did you see all of the "twitches" on the benches?
Lots of trash on the sidewalks
wow.. cleaned up nicely once most of the blks got out of there
It's amazing how you're able to write all that without a functioning brain
