I manged to pick up the newer Sopwith Camel and the Fokker Triplane recently on eBay and now they are the pride of my collection. I modified the Fokker by replacing each of the awful curved red fence pieces on the engine cowling with 2 red bows (4215466) with a red plate 1x2 with 1 knob (379421) under it. This is closer to what it should look like. LEGO made a similar change with the newer Camel in 2012. I think the bow piece came out in 2003 after the original Camel and the Triplane.

Looking for your opinion on the stickers. I have all 5 of the planes in sealed boxes and looking to build them. The stickers are getting old on some of these sets and I've heard the older stickers deteriate quickly. Whats your thoughts on this. Are new reproduction stickers better than 10 + year old stickers. How have your stickers held up on these sets. Thank you Anthony

My parents boughed me the sopwith and red baron when they came out. I got the red baron still in my room. We kept the box and bags it was in still there. It sure is a gem!
I still prefer my rc dr.1 though

Is there a cheaper source for these stickers than Bricklink in 2018?
I searched for them, but especially the stickers for the Fokker Triplane cost more than 60 Euros and that's really expensive.

You can get aftermarket stickers from ebay but the quality may not be as good.

Ive got the red baron and I have to say even tho I really like this set I have a lot of issues with the stickers. not only do they get loose but they also start to fall apart. Im thinking of printing my own stickers to make this set look good again

I've got one question. How do warplanes shoot when the propeller's in front of them? Is it possible that it hit a propeller and the plane crashes? Please answer.

The gun trigger system is geared to the prop and when the prop is in front of the gun it won't fire, it happens so fast you don't even notice. Thanks for watching

the earliest known version of this was a few deflector plates attached to the propellers but this design was quickly dismissed since all the deflected bullets could hit the pilot
