I think I just adore you! No cross stitch experience but naturally buy the biggest kit you can find! I am so amused but completely understand the sentiment. I know the cross stitch basics. My sister is coming to visit & I’m going to have her teach me the more complex stitches.
I've started a lot of these (I'll be years finishing) the best tip I can give is cut your lengths in half - they're usually 36 inches, cut them to 18. This floss is lovely and soft but it frays easily so the shorter lengths have less time rubbing against the canvas as you pull it through. The needle threaders are worth their weight in gold, as the floss is not 100% cotton but a cotton/rayon blend. It will not stick together to thread like regular cotton floss will. Stitches up lovely, tho. If you have trouble getting the needle with the three strands (for 11 count) to pull through, use a smaller needle. I wish I knew that at first XD
@@diamondkissxo I stitch a lot of large charts designed by HAED, but they’re not even close to your almost 2 meters wide kits! It’s al about the journey. Enjoy 🥰
@@kittyvanpeer9382 I love HAED!! Just got into them and I find that the counted stitching with symbols is much less confusing to me than the printed kits. Those hurt my eyes. 😅
I just finished my first beaded cross stitch and I love them. I really want to try a massive cross stitch but I get so frustrated constantly switching colors lol maybe one day. All of your kits are beautiful
I'm working on a pattern from Artecy. It has 75 colors. Some of the grid squares are almost all confetti stitches. I get excited when I can use the same color for more than 4 stitches. It has 12 pages of patterns and I almost completed 1 page. I wanted a challenge, and I am not disappointed. But sometimes I spend more time changing colors than stitching.
WOW…. Such a HUGE task for someone who has never crossed stitched before. They are beautiful prints, but I am so intimidated by them. Tammie Rose gave some great advice in the comments section. Good luck and let us know how you go.
I love Ali express. I’ve bought a few of those big cross stitch kits myself. I have a hard time stitching the 11 count but can handle the 14 count better. I look forward to seeing your ideas on how to stitch the large pieces cause I would love to complete one. I’m also doing the exact tiger picture. I’m about half way there. The beads take up a lot of space which make the stitching go faster. It’s really fun to do. There are a few videos on how not to tangle your thread on RUclips 🌺
Thank you soooo much for the advice! Please let me know what the tiger painting looks like when you complete it. Take a picture and e-mail it to me if you don’t mind 😀
Get you some Thread Magic when you start cross stitching. For me, it keeps my floss from knotting and makes my stitches look neater. I also keep my floss in baggies as I am working through the different colors. The baggies are 4x6. I got them from Walmart in the craft area.
It always looks so exciting to get a ton of stuff! I'll live through your videos from now on though haha. I got into cross stitching only about a month ago after diamond painting for 3 years. It's just as addicting as the latter 😂🥰
Now I have done large cross stitch in 14 & 32 count (not stamped). Now looking at yours 2 ideas come to mind. 1 use a floor stand hoop 1st it will make it much easier to work on your project. 2 roll your patter in a towel it prevents from getting dirty or accidental spills. Use close-pins to keep it rolled. As complete each section you unroll and move on Now after watching your video I may try one of these and see how well they do.
This is the first time I've watched your video and I enjoyed it so much! I want a big cross stitch like that! I love stamped cross stitch, can't wait to find a giant one to make!
🤣🤣🤣 good luck with learning and finishing your first cross-stitch. It is a relaxing hobbie - FYI if you have pets their hair tends to get all over the canvas so try and keep things as clean as possible. Ive done a few over the years never that large. In general it takes me between 20-30 min to complete each square depending on how complicated the square is.
I am wondering why anyone would order so many, very large kits if you’ve never cross stitch. What if you find you dislike the craft? I certainly hope you will love it though !,

Oh dear...not only those super huge canvases are super expensive, but also to finish even one of them it'll take you more than a whole year, if to stitch it each day.
For such huge canvases I suggestyou put them or buy for it a special frame, so it'll be much more comfortable for you to take in and out needle and stitch in general. Otherwise, with all the rubbing of the canvas while you'll stitch it - the canvas and colours on it will blur and become rubbish! Talking from my own experience.
I hope you got a frame to work on these.. and possibly a holder if your frame isn't standing...even really seasoned stichers wouldn't jump into so many these size.. ps. Braid the thread so it doesn't tangle
