I have a decent amount of Barbie books from the late 90’s that I found at a bookstore. The books actually contain some of the pictures from the photo cards. Also for the third picture, it was used in a book called “The Clue in the Haunted Library.” And if I remember correctly, Barbie was surprised by hearing a second set of footsteps behind her in an empty hallway of a library. She then heard shuffling and then got a glimpse of someone running away.
I also read that! The haunted library. And gasping because the library was getting closed i think. I bought book from the bookstore 4 years ago.. And i don't have that any more because of shifting. And as i was studying class 5 that time.. I don't remember much.
In the 90s they had Barbie books that all the pictures were actual photos like this. In fact, #60 was the cover of one of the ones I had. I always found them so cool, like just how much effort they put into each photo.
I love this idea! The original photos are so nostalgic especially because I grew up around that same time. Your modern recreations are stunning; I'm so impressed at the sets, outfits, editing, and how you got them all to stand! I totally understand the domino effect of falling dolls too lolol. Amazing video!

I loved those books growing up and am trying to collect all the books. Also. I used to do that all the time. Recreating the photos like that. I actually own some of the things they used in those pictures so it was a little easier sometimes

This was such a cute idea! Great job recreating the scenes, they look amazing! I think the reason the 3rd photo didn't work out as well is because the doll is not lit the same way she is lit in the original photo, so it feels less like she's there. In the old photo it looks like she is lit both from the back (from the lights on the back wall) and from the right (the direction she's facing).
Those are neat! I’ve started getting back into collecting Barbies a bit (I mainly collect American Girl currently but also have some other dolls as well). I ended up getting rid of most of my childhood Barbies around five or so years ago, maybe. I still have my childhood favorite (1992 Mermaid Barbie), as well as Dream Bride, German, and Irish Barbies, and Pocahontas. Last year I got my first Barbie as an adult and now have three newer ones.
