when i first gave this album a listen, this one pretty much stuck out as my least favorite, what with it being... strange.... and all.... but i really like it now; it's a great song. the solo and afterwards is just really awesome. actually, i dunno, the entire song is pretty sweet.
I completly agree with you, it took me a while to like this album and not 2 seconds as the other albums, but it does'nt mean its not a good album, just very different
you know, you are mostly right, except this tune is a great one! I think by festival album you mean fast-paced, catchy, all that jazz. But it's always nice to get a 5 minute slow burner, or even a "Cornerstone" to break up a set
@holmes194 You're exactly spot on about this set to be honest I had the pleasure of seeing them at Glastonbury and I saw this set at Leeds Festival in 2009 Absolute worlds apart
@wolf90 EXACTLY how I feel. Humbug is the best example of their creativity. It took a while to get into their more obscure songs but it just adds to the depth of their music!
It is clear that children alone were those who did not like this album from day one. Children who in the past worshiped Blink 182 and all of that filth. Of course you could never and will never truly appreciate the masterpiece that is Humbug; Arctic Monkeys' best album to date.
@Thor24x Wow what an incredibly two dimensional response. How does it explain the nonchalance that they play their original material with then? And this isn't about writing music, it's about how they are delivering it live. What authority do you have on song writing anyway? Also, by saying 'They still have energy where energy is due' you are advocating my point that there isn't much energy in this performance. Surely headlining a festival is where energy definitely should be present.
@icklebittymattykins I don't think that its just their music thats changed though. They've changed image, personalities and how they perform live. Just because their music has changed doesn't mean they shouldn't be energetic anymore. They're not exciting anymore and their stage presence has just gone. They're not the same band.
It took me 6 months to enjoy this album, now I think is one of their best albums but it's not, I mean it took me 6 months to like it, that's not a good album , not like Suck It And See, I loved it the moment I listened to it.
Massive lack of energy in this set. Compare this to what they put into they're set at Glastonbury 2007 and it's just nothing like it. There's developing as a band, and then there's getting too cool for your own good and losing the charm that made the band so appealing in the first place. Radiohead have changed vastly over their career, but they still put everything into their music. The Arctic Monkeys have done everything they can do as a band and should call it a day with integrity intact.
underrated track, underrated album, underrated era.
FOR REAL AND ITS THE BEST
humbug is just the best album, nothing compares with this masterpiece
THIS SONG. THIS ALBUM.
I wish they still play this song
Love this song too
mood
alex’s vocals are always on point, sounds the same as the studio version.

This is one of the kinkiest predator-prey interchange songs ever recorded.

Matt 2:34 Holy shit!!!
I hesitate to say Alex is so RockStar with that hair, but the guy pulls it off, he's amazing across the board, and the band is just amazing.
This album has such a hold on me. It’s just so perfect. Everything.

Absolute worlds apart
Best album imo. I don’t skip any songs
Alex is a don when it comes to lyrics. Him and Josh Homme are probably the best in the world.
And thank goodness for that.
I have to say i had them on my favorites never watched them. but im glad i did. this is mood music.

Agreed ;)
i miss his old hair.
@AbdiXL A-N-I-M-A-L!
@MichaelCore8 That's an overweighted, long-haired and bearded Jamie Cook. Looks better in my opinion.

@149javi have you listened to "Tge jewelers hands" cos i dont like that :/
@icklebittymattykins you cant judge this amazing band just for ALEX HAIR
Its dangerous animals, but in the speling, i never hear the S at the end of Animals...
@scargill8 Most lead singers of bands want to be like john lennon. its john lennon. who wouldnt want to be like him?
@MichaelCore8 oh common..
PT/BR: apanhar de mulher bonita
Helders is great...
they should have waited one more year so they could have been with Blink-182
would have been heck of a show ah
too bad i'm not english.. now i must search for the meaning of the lyrics.. otherwise i would understand it inmediatly..
@LIAMBELLSTAR nah, i'd rather be alex turner. sorry
@icklebittymattykins i'd like it but i don't want to ruin the hilarious 69 likes...
