For people wondering where this was taken: Use of PST/PDT puts this on the west coast of North America. Sunset on Dec 21st being around 4:50pm means that it's around 33° Latitude. So that puts this around Cental California. And finally, by simply reading the description, we know it is specifically San Diego. LOL
Im native Hawaiian, our ancestors would establish markers and observe the sunrise/sunsets throughout the year and notice how the sun would travel on the horizon. We would know when the solstices and equinoxes were. Ive never seen a Timelapse of it tho, so thats cool.
I noticed this in lockdown. I usually keep my curtains open at night. During summer I would often wake up to sunlight on my face but in winter the sunlight would fall a bit away from my bed. Never thought you could notice the earths tilted axis through this.

Thank you for this! 🙏🏽 Back in 2022, I watched the sunrise daily from May till September. I had intentions on finishing out the year but life was life’ing and I stopped in September. I would get up early almost daily to watch the sunrise from my rooftop in Hollywood. From my vantage point it would rise in the northeast corner of LA, right over the Angeles Forest mountains. This was in May. But then day by day, week by week, and month by month, it was slowly inching its way to the southeast corner, so by September it was rising right over downtown LA from my vantage point. Because I didn’t show up for the rest of the year to complete a full year, I always wondered how it would circle back over to the Northeast corner. I asked anybody that might seem interested. I know only a little bit about the Cosmos. This past year I moved very far from my job, but never found a job in my area yet. Long story. So, I literally drive 2 1/2 hours to and from work each day, a total of five hours, which means I need to get up before the sun. I started driving in March. I have just discovered through the time change, and the tilting of the earth, that the sunrise, which also disappeared, moved to the south east. Never knew this, total trip for me on how I could actually see the changing of the earth by watching the sunrise five days a week. Some of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever had were through summer and into the fall as well, the sunfall, especially considering that my way home I was on a higher plain, looking down at the horizon, was some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen in my life. Literally amazing and different every time.

Well done and a beautiful example. I did something similar in a low-tech way at work. I noticed the sun was shining on my whiteboard at 10AM so I stuck a little piece of blue glass to the window and marked the position of the blue dot on the whiteboard at 10AM for a year. I didn't do every day, just once every couple weeks. After doing that a bit I got quite a crowd some days waiting for 10:00 with me to see where the dot would be, especially in late winter. Well, in the frozen north you take a lot of interest in the coming spring ;)

I remember telling a guy who had made a solar panel with a tracking system that you don’t need a sensor for that. Sun trajectory is probably gonna be the same each year. You just need to feed the system the orientation for each day based on your location.
I remember once in McDonald's this old man in front of me ordered a coffee and an Egg McMuffin and I told him that he could actually save $.20 by ordering the value meal and get a hash brown thrown into the deal for free. I'll never forget the idiotic look on his face as he tried to process this information and not a day goes by that I don't think about that old man and how much I hate his guts.

This isn't evidence that the earth is circling the Sun. It is only evidence that either the Sun or Earth is running an elliptic orbit along a tilted axis, which works in both geocentric and heliocentric models.

Before that, everyone was guessing based on the exact same set of proofs, and the geocentric model was as good a guess as the heliocentric one, with the added benefit of being the one which was the most easily explainable from the Earth perspective.

There are a good number of cameras that stay stationary and can be programed to capture a photo on some sort of delay. Learned about this from a documentary about the Greenland ice sheets where they are documenting their melt to prove that they are melting/shrinking and to share the mistakes of climate change before they are to sever. Side note/rant, N.A.S.A. put the terraforming mirrors into space already!!!!!!!! We designed them to remove temperatures from the hottest planet in our solar system we can modify them to allow some temperature into our atmosphere once they are in place with simple angle changes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just imagine the fact that every shape of the cloud you see will only be there once in your lifetime. Sunset on Dec 21st being around 4:50pm means that it's around 33° Latitude.

Im native Hawaiian, our ancestors would establish markers and observe the sunrise/sunsets throughout the year and notice how the sun would travel on the horizon. We would know when the solstices and equinoxes were. Ive never seen a Timelapse of it tho, so thats cool.
I noticed this in lockdown. I usually keep my curtains open at night. During summer I would often wake up to sunlight on my face but in winter the sunlight would fall a bit away from my bed. Never thought you could notice the earths tilted axis through this.

Thank you for this! 🙏🏽 Back in 2022, I watched the sunrise daily from May till September. I had intentions on finishing out the year but life was life’ing and I stopped in September. I would get up early almost daily to watch the sunrise from my rooftop in Hollywood. From my vantage point it would rise in the northeast corner of LA, right over the Angeles Forest mountains. This was in May. But then day by day, week by week, and month by month, it was slowly inching its way to the southeast corner, so by September it was rising right over downtown LA from my vantage point. Because I didn’t show up for the rest of the year to complete a full year, I always wondered how it would circle back over to the Northeast corner. I asked anybody that might seem interested. I got no answers. Now it makes sense! Thank you for this video! 💛💛💛🙏🏽

I know only a little bit about the Cosmos. This past year I moved very far from my job, but never found a job in my area yet. Long story. So, I literally drive 2 1/2 hours to and from work each day, a total of five hours, which means I need to get up before the sun. I started driving in March. I have just discovered through the time change, and the tilting of the earth, that the sunrise, which also disappeared, moved to the south east. Never knew this, total trip for me on how I could actually see the changing of the earth by watching the sunrise five days a week. Some of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever had were through summer and into the fall as well, the sunfall, especially considering that my way home I was on a higher plain, looking down at the horizon, was some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen in my life. Literally amazing and different every time.

This is an analemma, which shows the position of the Sun at the same time every day for a year! 🌞 The figure-8 happens because of two things: Earth’s axis is tilted, which makes the Sun higher in the sky during summer and lower in winter (that’s the up-and-down part). But also, Earth’s orbit isn’t a perfect circle-it’s slightly elliptical. This makes the Sun appear to “drift” left and right as Earth speeds up and slows down in its orbit. So instead of a straight line, we get this cool figure-8 pattern! 😊 #ScienceIsAwesome

Well done and a beautiful example. I did something similar in a low-tech way at work. I noticed the sun was shining on my whiteboard at 10AM so I stuck a little piece of blue glass to the window and marked the position of the blue dot on the whiteboard at 10AM for a year. I didn't do every day, just once every couple weeks. After doing that a bit I got quite a crowd some days waiting for 10:00 with me to see where the dot would be, especially in late winter. Well, in the frozen north you take a lot of interest in the coming spring ;)

I remember telling a guy who had made a solar panel with a tracking system that you don’t need a sensor for that. Sun trajectory is probably gonna be the same each year. You just need to feed the system the orientation for each day based on your location.
I remember once in McDonald's this old man in front of me ordered a coffee and an Egg McMuffin and I told him that he could actually save $.20 by ordering the value meal and get a hash brown thrown into the deal for free. I'll never forget the idiotic look on his face as he tried to process this information and not a day goes by that I don't think about that old man and how much I hate his guts.

The crazy thing is someone looked at this a couple of centuries ago and went 'yeah nah the Earth's gotta be turning around the sun'
Some ancient greeks already figured that the earth is turning around the sun though it didn't gain as much traction as when Copernicus proposed the idea

This isn't evidence that the earth is circling the Sun. It is only evidence that either the Sun or Earth is running an elliptic orbit along a tilted axis, which works in both geocentric and heliocentric models.
@nikoraasu6929 Nobody "figured" that the Earth was going around the Sun before the 18th century, when James Bradley discovered stellar aberration.
Before that, everyone was guessing based on the exact same set of proofs, and the geocentric model was as good a guess as the heliocentric one, with the added benefit of being the one which was the most easily explainable from the Earth perspective.
@@remilenoir1271 That's nonsense. Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, Galilei. They all lived long before Bradley and consolidated the heliocentric model. The geocentric model was long outdated at the time and had to be based on assumptions that were not tenable.

CCTV, I guess. The camera is fixed in place and taking pictures 24x7. Only thing one has to do is, take these shots out monthly and save somewhere else.

There are a good number of cameras that stay stationary and can be programed to capture a photo on some sort of delay. Learned about this from a documentary about the Greenland ice sheets where they are documenting their melt to prove that they are melting/shrinking and to share the mistakes of climate change before they are to sever.
Side note/rant, N.A.S.A. put the terraforming mirrors into space already!!!!!!!! We designed them to remove temperatures from the hottest planet in our solar system we can modify them to allow some temperature into our atmosphere once they are in place with simple angle changes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just imagine the fact that every shape of the cloud you see will only be there once in your lifetime.
Small edit to make it more clear: if you see a cloud in the sky, you will never see a cloud with exactly the same shape as in that moment because the chance of all of the atoms in another cloud (or the same cloud at a diffrent time) not being a single micrometer off is impossible.

It's because we're spinning as well as revolving around the sun that the symbol is drawn an I suspect that's the importance in the symbol. Somebody long ago noticed that track the sun travels in a year and calculated the numerical representation.
