    Hello Dave. Reference getting your car to Kelling. The only access is a private road through the muckleborough collection tank museum. There is also a locked gate at that car park. The only way to fish it, is to walk from Weybourne, around 20mins 👍

      Yeah that’s a bit of a walk with all the fishing gear.. thanks for the info..

    On the Saturday and Sunday before you went they had the 'Bass Festival', half of which is at Kelling. There were some impressive catches of bass at Kelling but no hounds, but some people also struggled. As detailed in the comments this access is provided by an agreement between the Holt Sea Angling Club and tank musuem (Muckleborough Collection or something like that) - there is no public access to the parking area on top of the cliffs. Similarly, Norfolk Angling Club have access for their Monday night matches. The walk from Weybourne car park to the wreck isn't too bad - there is a path/ verge along the back of the beach.

    The shingle was very quiet fish wise over the weekend. I fished 6+ hours Saturday at Cley and blanked, and only saw a scant handful of fish caught along the whole beach. Reports on Norfolk Beach Fishing (UK) suggest the fishing was poor along that part of the coast the whole weekend.

      Absolutely typical the day we choose to drive up there..lol.. I got a couple of mates fishing North Beach Yarmouth this afternoon.. it’s doing really well there at the moment.

      @@TheDavidharding but if you'd been up there on Friday night you'd have seen an amazing aurora! It was incredible on the coast.

    No that feeling hate blanks first time I've been in contact with you am a subscriber. Went fishing with Brett on Gorleston pier few weeks ago when it was very windy and cold Lowestoft pier was fishing well when I went wind was in my back went as far up the pier as I could get walloped a whole squid out ona pulley pennel had whiting on my other rod while I was unhooking it my squid rod and tripod got dragged into the fence so don't know what that was snagged up and snapped off. very snaggy at the end half way up clear sand I think. We have been having holidays at Corton I like spinning at the bottom of the cliff had a couple of nice bass there last summer I like watching all the videos from this area because it keeps me up to speed with what's coming out anyway hope you're next outing is more fruitful all the best 😁👍

      Thanks for watching and subscribing.. yeah I watch Bret and few other locals as also like to see what’s coming out locally, Corton beach one of my favourite beaches to fish I’ve had some lovely smooth hounds from there in the summer.

    Tried the Estuary at Wells today, was hoping to dig a few small lug, but the beds seem to have all but disappeared, so tried a lure, not hoping for much, but got seven Bass in a couple of hours, mostly small but great fun on a light spinning rod, as for the North beach at Yarmouth, went last Friday, holiday camp end near low tide as that is the only time I catch there and it was Dogfish after Dogfish some decent ones along with about 3 respectable Whiting…

    Nice one Dave. I was, there too day. Two to left of you. Just had 3 dabs, and, 3 big edible crabs. All at 6-8 this morning then nothing. Baits getting stripped within 5 minutes even squid gone. Thats my white nissan. Think them boys nets are drift nets. Saw him drop them early this morning. Dont think fish are getting past them. Still a fantastic venue though

    • @TheDavidharding
      @TheDavidharding  7 месяцев назад

      That’s the 2nd turbot I’ve heard now that has been caught locally, definitely getting some new species of fish coming in the last couple of years.. wrasse being caught last year and mackerel being caught of Yarmouth.. I’m looking forward to see what this year brings..👌

    • @PaulMills-ue9eg
      @PaulMills-ue9eg 7 месяцев назад

      In 1978 there was a turbot caught off dunwich beach weighed 28 and a half pound, caught on lugworm , it in John Wilson book

    • @TheDavidharding
      @TheDavidharding  7 месяцев назад +1

      Not sure but I think the shore caught record for a turbot was caught near there. About17 lbs I think. May be mis informed
