The V 600 was available on the Vantage a few years before the Le Mas version came out. The Standard Vantage came in V550 but you could also order it from the factory in V600 form or Send ur V550 back to Aston Martin Works for upgrade power to V600 & the upgraded to the V600 Suspension package. The Le Mas could be ordered in V550 or V600, but all Le Mas had the V600 suspension upgrade & Dynmag rims included.
Amazing machine. When its wrapped in turquoise leather, I think that steering wheel blends in just fine. This Lemans was a worthy successor to the original Vantage.
Fantastic piecing the missing jigsaw pieces together from the other videos you include for the time line for Aston Martin Virage > Aston Martin Vantage 550 > Aston Martin Vantage 600 Le Mans last 40 cars hand built at Newport Pagnel.
Try the A59 Mark III Golf made for crushing rally sport. It’s super rare and apparently one was recently found in the US and is in running and racing order now. That might just make your list 😂
As usual, a gread video. Having lived a long time un the UK, I'll give you guys a golden nugget perspective from old Aston owners (not mine personally sadly 😁). The difference with Aston to other British luxury or sports brands (From Bentley and Jensen Interceptor to TVR, Marcos etc.) : Astons must have a brutish side. Old brit chassis with a big lump to overwhelmed it in demand. Best example would the old early 80's Vantage V8, the old james pond DBS, Vanquish etc. Sort of inspired by classic American Muscle me thinks, but they'd never admit it😅
With offshore powerboats requiring BBC to produce a certain amount of power constantly over hours. Not for 10sec.. So many engine builders first used BBC like 510,545, 572, 589, 632. To make 1200,1300,1500 HP continuously motors began to get 2 2-3 liter whipples on 1 engine. Eventually Mercury hopped on board and took there 9liter block and trew 2 whipples on top For there 1075 and 1200 racing motors. Using there 7liter motor for 850 with twin blowers. Then the 700, 662, 600. All used single blowers. Under 600, 525 was NA… Then they released there 9liter DOHC twin turbo motor in 1350, then 1650, 1550, and 1100 But if you’ve got the 40k laying around. You need the merc SB4 A 7liter DOHC REV HAPPY BBC crate motor!! And for the marine world they have a NA 9liter DOHC offering 860 NA power on tap!
The problem with the Astons is the very conservative engine configurations. AND that the Aston stead fastly REFUSED to practice any weight discipline. Astons are almost always 4000 lbs or more....

Believe me, there is no need for horsepower increase. There is no traction control. Not the best sounding exhaust. I wouldn't change it though : there were only 239 V550 + 40 Le Mans produced. Better keep it stock.
The stance and sheer amount of tire sidewall make this Aston look like a car body that was dropped onto a truck frame. It’s a pretty car in its own way, but the stance looks awkward to me. Great video, thanks for sharing!

Obviously because the hellcat is seen as the pinnacle of high horsepower PRODUCTION cars. Especially if it’s supercharged as well it’s going to get compared to a hellcat…
The Vantage was a much better looking car, in my eyes, than the DB7 was. The DB7 has that very typical for the 90’s look of rounded, swoopy body lines that everything from cheap, throw away entry level cars like the Ford Escort to the best of the super cars had. It didn’t stick out from the masses or take any risk. The Vantage, especially the updated models of the mid to late 90’s, was very muscular looking, a way cooler looking car.
The Virage was not a bad car considering its chassis was made up of hand welded square tubing , proberably one of the last , and to handle 600hp aswell as run 199mph , it was a good chassis too . The DB7 was always a tarted up Jag XJS and Aston admits it , their first proper car in decades was the DB9 , that you still dont sneeze at today either !
On release, the Virage was a dog and a pretty unattractive one at that. I love that Aston decided that they just had to just go absolutely mental on it. My dream car is still a 1970s V8 Vantage but yeah I'd take one of these if I was given it.
Damn, that Ford steering wheel. same one I had on 92 Mercury Sable...I know they were owned by Ford at one point but my god it sticks out like sore thumb!
These were pretty insane, but two things just don't work. That Ford wheel really kills the interior. Wood rim wheel FTW. Then those 200SX quarter windows. Just no.
Hellcat never comes close to this AM. Hellcat is stupid shit pretending to be badass. Vantage 550/600/600 Le Mans was the real deal. It was badass, it was elegant, it was nice luxurious, and had mindboggling power. Fun part is that there are very few 550, most owners went for the 50 HP upgrade, even at ridiculous price.
@@stevewenners no Ford DNA, it was based on the Virage which was developed prior to Fords involvement in Aston. McLaren use engines developed by Ricardo. Pretty sure it isn’t a Fiat.
A 1990s Aston of any kind? o_O I literally can not imagine a worse car. It will be a complete piece of garbage: built by drunken idiots instead of robots. Half the screws and bolts won't be done up tightly, let alone torqued. The electrics are so bad it'll be a miracle if the car even starts with a whole fully charged battery. Which it won't have, because it will be flat all the time. Because electricity leaks out of this car like a heater is constantly running inside it. While Mercedes-Benz were busy making cars out of solid blocks of granite, Astons were being carved from a gigantic pile of poop. :P

Awesome thanks for watching and glad to have you here!
Nice video, sick car!
It's absolutely stunning.
just subbed bro, good shit, you gonna make it big man :)
This car has always done it for me. I have no idea why, but it still does now like it always has. Sometimes you just like a car line 👍🏻🍺
Im a huge Aston Martin fan, love that the brand stayed true to their roots for so long
I must say the Aston Martin Victor looks an awful lot like it.
Worth noting the V8 engine wasn’t that new, effectively it’s the one used since the early 70s by Aston
Can you do a detailed video on the first hypercar? I mean the McLaren F1.and no one can change my mind. The F1 was out of this world
Ehh… it was alright I reckon. Not bad…not a game changer. Turn a head or two and that’s about it aside from the occasion raised eyebrow.
@shaindaman13 the mclaren f1 wasn't a game changer? Of course it was .
thanks for covering my dream car

What's the boost pressure ?
I don't care if Clarkson said the clutch can't survive 2 0-60 runs.

All good stuff but like someone else said, slow down. I could barely keep up.

I like the design, except for the weird pig snout in the front. What’s with the weird nostrils instead of just adding a grille?
I think it looks better without the grill insert as well
Pig snout is exactly what I thought too when I first saw it.
It really spoils the look but will no doubt aid aerodynamics big time.
