I really enjoyed this episode and the lovely guest! Hearing about the cozy mystery series made me want to read the books for myself, so I went and grabbed several of them for my ereader. ♥
You brought up cozy fantasy -- it is a genre =] Fantasy and mystery have a long history of mixing really well, and there are some fun cozy fantasies out there, like Chrys Cymri's series about a priest and her snarky gryphon sidekick who solve mysteries in a small English-style village.
Lots of other genres include cozy mystery elements and JK Rowling's first few installments in the Harry Potter series is the best (and most successful) example. It's all highly subjective. I know many people who consider the books to be a mystery set in a fantasy world. Because of the muggle bits that bookend each story, many others consider it Magical Realism.
Maybe *that's* what I've done wrong... writing deep multigenre literary fiction where heavy sh!t happens. Maybe I'll do a 180 and write a cozy mystery instead? .....>
@@thecreativepenn Well, I've read your writing, so yeah... dark--LOL! But very good ;^) For my part, as a change of pace, I did start writing a novel that was supposed to be lighter... but somebody ended up needing to die by the end... *of chapter 1.*

Helped me as I'm writing a murder mystery series
When does she start talking about cozy mysteries? 10 minutes in and she’s still talking about audiobooks.
The time of the interview is under every video :)
Finding the interview is part of the mystery.
