"Islamic" banks are doing classic "seller financing" with a twist. The first contract is a purchase of the home, usually _far_ above market price to account for future value of banks funds, with a 0 % loan, and the second is a rental agreement, which is pure profit. So, I am renting the house I just overpaid for. The rental agreement combined with the purchase price should never exceed market pricing as a total. The "service" of Muslims lending money is supposed to be interest free... so why am I paying even more than if I were at a bank, for this "service" by it's design? So, if they are profiting, fine; the question is how much? Quantify it. 2nd, if Muslim banks aren't profitable in the start up stage, it is not because they are writing non-profit contracts, but because their contracts were way too fiscally oppresive and couldn't pull in enough customers away from other banks. Remember, as a bank, they borrow money at far below market rates, and lend it out to you. Thus, the measure of a good contract is how much the home buyer is spending vs the regular bank. Finally, Zakat is not a tax... but charity by design to improve their lives. The point isn't to give it to politicians. Taxes are a tithe to politicians and elites to buy their 700 civilian killing military bases and trillions of dollars in weapons. Comparing the two is like comparing Kamala Harris with Saydnah. Mariam (A). I hate being a contrarian, but this video makes it really hard to agree with. I honestly don't want to see anymore videos from him..
Bitcoin's volatility isn't the same as Bitcoin's risk. And When you understand both, you realize neither is an issue. Well said. There is a hadith about just that statement. On the authority of Abu 'Abdullah al-Nu'man bin Bashir (ra) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah(sas) say: "The halal is clear and the haram is clear, and between them are matters unclear that are unknown to most people. Whoever is wary of these unclear matters has absolved his religion and honor. And whoever indulges in them has indulged in the haram. It is like a shepherd who herds his sheep too close to preserved sanctuary, and they will eventually graze in it. Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is what He has made haram. There lies within the body a piece of flesh. If it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Verily this piece is the heart." [Bukhari & Muslim]

Zakat is not a tax. Allah says, "Give Zakat," you give. It's charity and you can decide where to give it. Which tax do you know where you can decide where the money goes? In the UK, they name taxes, but the money goes to other things (like road tax, not exclusively going on road repairs, etc). Allah says Zakat doesn’t decrease your wealth. In fact, it's the opposite. In fact, it's an investment in the hear after, and the return can be 700x! If you can't Can't afford to give it, you're exempt. Try that with council tax. 😂
Zakat is considered as a Tax by many because during the time of the Prophet (PBUH) and during the Rashidun Caliphate the administration was responsible for collecting and distributing Zakat.
