Hello everyone... this is Chris Shelton. I wanted to thank each of you for your comments. We took them seriously and learned from them ourselves. Part 2 of this series is scheduled to air March 10, 2023, @ 8 & 11 pm CT. We hope that you will join us once again. God's blessings to all!
It is written " The soul that sins it shall die." Also " God formed man from the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul ".
A living soul or being. Soul in Hebrew is Nephesh, person or being, Greek soul is Psuche, person, being, life. In Hebrew Spirit is Ruach or breath, in Greek Spirit is Pneuma, breath or wind. When God breathed(Ruach) into Adam’s nostrils, he became a living Soul, being(Nephesh. It doesn’t say he was given a soul. His breath( Ruach ) goeth forth, he returneth to his Earth, in that very day his thoughts perish. Psalms 146:4
After almost 70 years of belief in the body & soul theory, I encountered an Adventist bible study. The truth was what I chose to accept. I had only recently learned that The Bible wasn't a work of pure fiction. That change wasn't easy or joyful initially. Many tears were shed in grief over those I had imagined being in heaven with our Lord. I have come to accept that they are "asleep in the ground" and out of all earthly suffering at any rate. I have found joy again knowing it will happen at a future time, when we all shall see His face. Thank you for this study video.
@Violeta Mariposa Hello. If you have any scriptural questions. Please feel free to contact our Pastoral Department at mail@3abn.org, and they will be happy to answer any questions you have.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Yes, it does say "before."
@@violetamariposa2404 I pray you find your answer to this issue that is perplexing you. For me the answer is similar to thinking about how your daughter or son got married and became a wonderful parent even before 'you' ever got pregnant. I knew who they would be, what they would do, etc. there were errors in my imagining, because I'm not a Great Creator so the outcome is flawed. But I knew them when I was still a child.
In English, soul has always had a dual meaning, as in S. O. S. (save our souls, according to one application), which is referring to temporal rescue, and not to eternal salvation. A survey of dictionaries and definitions reveals both this meaning of the whole person, and the meanings of spirit and intellectual and emotional faculties of humankind. One will encounter such examples as soulmate, happy soul, poor soul, [sad soul, sensitive soul], not a soul in sight, won't tell a soul, not a living soul, &cetera. Therefore, the language of the KJV & NKJV may not be trendy, but it is lexically legitimate. Happy Sabbath and God bless!

12:20… God didn’t “FORM” anything else: I’m SDA, 45 & just learned that God did “FORM” other creatures from the ground… Gen.2:19… And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air;. Then see, Gen.7:15… And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. God formed the animals & gave them, also, the breath of life. For yrs, I used to think God only formed man, praise God for the clarity of His Holy Word. 2Tim. 3:16… All scripture is given… for reproof, for correction. 45yrs old & God corrected my understanding.
Time stamp 24:27 the man misquotes scripture, he says the exact opposite of the scripture, this is never acceptable. The Bible says that the Heavenly Father knows people before they are conceived. If someone is inside the womb, they have already been conceived. Jeremiah 1:5a NASB "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you," CJB- Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I separated you for myself. KJV- Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Hi Violeta. Thank you for your comment. You are correct, I mis-quoted what the Scripture says. But when God told Jeremiah that He knew him before he was conceived did God mean that He knew Jeremiah beforehand as a living soul? Because that was the context for what I said and the conversation we were having. I think if you will recall that close to the beginning of the program we referenced “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: “ Isaiah 28:10 What this Bible verse is telling us is that when we study Scripture we always have to keep what is said in context. Not only within the nearest passages, but also with the Bible as a whole. The verse you quote from Jeremiah, in context, isn’t about a persons soul. It’s about the deity of God. Jeremiah here is questioning wether he will be able to perform the duty that God has called him to do. And God is reminding him that He is “even from everlasting to everlasting” Psalm 90:2 “For a thousand years in thy(His) sight are but as yesterday when past” Verse 4. He is “the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity” Isaiah 57:15. He is the “Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Revelation 22:13 We see in prophecy that God is able to foretell future worldly events, (Daniel 2:20-23 and Revelation 1:1-8). He is able to foresee the future and reveal it to His prophets before us mortals live to experience it. So in this context, when God tells Jeremiah, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations,” He isn’t telling us that Jeremiah was a living soul somewhere else before he was conceived, instead, God is telling Jeremiah that because He has the power to exist in all time and eternity, He also has the power to foresee Jeremiah before he was conceived, thus giving Jeremiah the assurance that He has the power to sustain him as he steps into the role of being His prophet. God bless you Violeta, continue to study, and hopefully you will be able to watch part 2 with us.
@Eddie Clark Thank you for being honest and not brushing me off. It was causing me so much concern that my comments weren't being addressed directly, instead, I was told "send an email", "hope you watch the second part" because my concern was over the mis-quoting of scripture. And that the scriptures about Paradise were not discussed. I have never heard that passage described in the way you did in your comment. I will be thinking about that and reading more scriptures. I wholeheartedly agree with you about reading and understanding the Bible as a whole and that's why I feel all of the passages of scripture, including the ones about paradise needed to be included in this video. So I am glad there will be a part 2 and I will watch. I do agree with some of the things that you all have said. Through reading the scriptures that you have used, a couple of years ago, I came to the understanding that Heaven is physical a place for someone in a physical body to travel to, in the same manner as Jesus, Elijah and Enoch. But then there are the mentions of going to Paradise upon one's death, etc, that seem to throw this off. Another passage that doesn't match that line of thought is that of the rich man and Lazarus. At the Christian school that I attended as a child, I was taught that when Jesus said, "A certain man" in His teachings, that meant that He was referring to an actual person and not a fictional character, such as the characters in His parables. So it was my understanding that in the story of the rich man and Lazarus, both people were real and not fictional. I don't follow all of that school's teachings and know that they are not the authority on the Bible but it just seemed to make sense, since that story was so different and told differently than the rest, meaning that it mentioned a name and seemed to be concealing the name of the rich man. --those are just some things that were on my mind. Thank you, may the Creator bless you.
@@violetamariposa2404 I’m sorry I didn’t get to your comment before. I usually check the comments a week or so after the program airs, but this time I dropped the ball. Partly because of my work schedule and partly because a part two is coming. Just remember that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” 2Timothy3:16. The Bible authors “holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2Peter1:21. All Scripture is going to harmonize. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” John 16:13. God Bless.
But if it's just sleep, then wouldn't Jesus, while on the cross say, "The three of us are going to be asleep together." Instead, Jesus made a distinction between the two men. Asleep or nothingness cannot be the same as Paradise. If sleep can be called Paradise, then what would Heaven be called--there is no word that is greater than paradise. More importantly, anytime the Bible mentions Paradise, it is referring to what we call Heaven. Either you believe Jesus or you are calling Him a liar. Prove the Bible with the Bible. Luke 23:43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
There are no punctuations in the original Greek. Jesus said “I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.” The English translation put the comma before Today and it should have been placed after today. The thief will be with Jesus in the heavenly paradise one day at the resurrection. We know the translation is wrong because Jesus did not go to Heaven that day of the cross because he told Mary at His resurrection not to cling to him because he has yet to go to heaven. John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ” Jesus’s promise to the thief will be fulfilled when the thief awakens at the resurrection.
Paradise is eternal joy. Jesus was including the thief in His eternal joy. Whoever believes in Jesus, has eternal life and is included in eternal joy. The moment you believe in Jesus, you are in paradise/eternal joy
@@violetamariposa2404 when you move the punctuation into it’s proper location Jesus was saying “I’m telling you today, you will be in paradise with me.” I hope they dig into that verse in part two. It confuses a lot of people.
