What's better than hauling your race car with something cool? Hauling it with something big. Freiburger and Finnegan fix up a stretched '86 Chevy crew cab "limo dually" to haul the '56 Chevy Field Car to multiple dragstrips. Will the famous '56 with a 500-hp small block run its fastest quarter mile yet, or will the ridiculous stretched truck fail to get it there?

Just getting to their destination is an adventure.Year started: 2012

Even though RUclips has ghosted me, and nobody will ever see this reply...rear wheel bearings on a full floater do not get packed with grease. The diff feeds gear oil to the bearings through the axle tubes.
I may or not read your post ha ha ha ha!!!
I may or may not have read it!?!
I may or not read your post!?!
Booooo.... Ohhhhh. Ghhhoooosty
You’re not alone.
Rarely is a roadkill episode so succesful lol! Thanks for uploading these man, haven't been able to watch for about three years at this point.
Do you really think all this was authentic? This is roadkill show and if there are no problems like here, they invent some.Ignition box troubles eh?Of course they have some unidentified problems with 2 boxes and just happen to have a third one and other conveniently available ign parts.
Long wheel base vehicles tow things well. These guys know a ton and are very funny too.
Spent my life in Sacramento and in the 1960s have been to Vacaville, Cotati, Kingdon, and Sacramento drag strips.
We went to Kingdon drag strip back in like 1975, my dad had a 67 GTO that he bought for 160$ with a blown up 400 ,we rebuilt the engine and took it out to Kingdon and my dad raced it in the bracket and ended up bringing home the first place trophy! I have great memories of Kingdon drag strip.
Thank you for the longer format videos!!
Damn! Roadkill is still king. This was a great episode, old school roadkill feel.
The guy in the white T-shirt at 37:55 seemed to have saved the day by offering up a different distributor. I think he should have his name in the credits.
The whole issue ended up being the spark plug wires that Dave put on the engine from the beginning. They're un-shielded. The electrical noise from the wires kept burning up the ignition boxes.
@@kevinkishbaugh2051 Yeah, you need suppressed non solid wires with boxes like that.
I've been binge watching these. Feels like good to see these on YT again.
Mike Finnegan that truck would make a BadAss Ramptruck !!!!!!
A fuel pump and quadrajet rebuild kit, alternator bearings and diode packs, a starter solenoid winding, an HEI parts collection and a pair of gloves all fit in your glove box and will prevent failures on long trips so you'll never need to use the parts but they were nice to have to share an HEI reluctor with a Mom and daughter in the middle of nowhere right after soldering their radiator while lying in slush on the side of the road between snowsheds in BC when their station wagon died just before getting to seizing temperature after a Swiss army knife in an apple was dropped out of the window of a pickup truck and stuck itself through their rad in 1986 the day after the space shuttle disaster. The knife was returned to the F250 Doug was driving 240 miles from the rad and distributor fixes. The apple was a Granny Smith and the seeds were wrapped in a damp paper towel for the trip home to become a tree for the daughter to include in the yearly card photo we've continued to exchange since 86.
If nothing else... try to appear worthy of being parted out.
First track i ever raced on was Kingdon. Glad to see you finally got there. I hope you go back for one of the race days they have throughout the year.
Makes me wish I still had my 56 210.
This was a proper roadkill episode.
What's funny is, the truck was a strip club limo in a past life. And ironically became a " Drag" strip club limo towing the "Field Car"
Everyone waving at you are wanting you to stop and pick them up... The club is calling their name, o.g. patrons 😂
My drag car did that intermittent total miss thing, and it ended up being the ignition box itself. It was unfortunate that I thought "Nah, the box wouldn't do that, it MUST be the wiring somewhere.." and then ended up rewiring the entire system only to have the miss still exist, and it was the box. No matter WHICH end you start investigating, it'll ALWAYS END UP being the OTHER end of the system that you look at last... 😒
I was watching a later episode last week, where Dave mentions he kept blowing the boxes and how he fixed it. If I recall correctly, it was the wrong ohm on the ignition coil after all that, but I could be remembering wrong.
CLIFFORD THE BIG RED TRUCK!
@15:24 I have been 173mph on the road driving back into the town of Lompoc! The day I sold my street bike I took it for one last ride and on my way back into town I let her eat one last time before the guy got to Lompoc from LA to buy it... I miss living in Lompoc so very much it's beautiful there
Great job guys ! Loved it ! Go 56 Chevy go !
That is awesome, and that would be a dream car always has since i was little
pretty BadAss boys. Dig the '56 ! here in Santa Barbara - bought a real nice Tahoe for a great price from the guys at HotRod Garage awhile, back I don't know, a year ago... Great truck - I appreciate it HRG !
Talking about dragstrips was glad to see you make a pass down george rays
I grew up in Lompoc, beautiful place
At 14 minutes, I doubts it's the first time someone yelled bubbles at that truck. At 37 minutes you're in the right truck if you need a blower but I don't think that's what they usually call it. Next time take bubbles with you.
Love it
🏆Thank you🐶🐶I needed that 👀✌️
"Did the driveshaft fall out of it?" - oh man, I busted out loud right there.
Don’t know ,don’t care. My life moto!
Good sir......i Agree
Great episode guys. Cools cars.
Looks like people stopped paying for the on demand subscription
I stopped cause I only ever watched roadkill anymore. Just too many apps with too many subscriptions
Lovn the video every day for a week
pretty easy to do all they're doing is uploading. You too could do the same.
Grest video thx guys really enjoyed thx
The one two shift gets me every time 😂 after that, halls ass and turns into a spaceship 🚀
Close, Freiburger, close. The quote is "oft times go awry." You could have been an English major.
I'm gonna floor it. Ok go...... I did...oh
The next episode crusher Camaro on hot rod power tour 2024
Love the truck!!!!
Awesome.
Its a nardi steeringwheel with the wolfburg vw logo in the center nice
Dave, the truck seat belt! 😂
Love the truck …. Love to have one
That was my all time favorite tow vehicle, wish it was mine!
You should put a Bed in the Back Half of truck Cab 😂😂😂
Sadly I've only been on 1 drag strip, US 30 near my hometown that was 4 yrs ago
Now that Sacramento Raceway is closed Kingdon is nearest track for me now, been there twice this year and had a great time!
😅You drove right past my place before the River road you ran out of gas on👀 I'm here for you🐶🐶 I'll help if I can🍀just send an SOS✌️
Thank goodness for the redding drag strip.
2nd gear wheel pulls 🤘🏽
It's the '56 Chevy calling !
That's what Roadkill needs, another dog.
Check the MSD ignition module itself.
@@MarkWolter-z8q They don't use a module in the distributor.... only a magnetic pick-up.
I don't know if this truck has a name yet, but it needs to be called Clifford.😂 It's big, red and definitely a dog😂
I'm in love with Finegan's truck. You could see Boss Hogg getting out of it, totally too much.
and I feel like I'm living the drag races as if I was there.
(I'm sure there's a crazy amount of work involved in putting it on video, and you don't see the huge effort it represents, thanks for that too.) Thanks Roadkill'Brother.
(by the way, where does the engine cut off come from?)
You might want to think about using proper resistive plug wires. 🙂
That thing would be sick to drop a motor in and go on sick week!
AA Nostalgia Fuelers at Redding in a few days.
Sept 2024. Just under 8 hrs for me. Hmm. West Coast Outlaws at the same event.
Like that subterranean weather. Big Powa!!.
That's one awesome big red limmo truck 🚛
You should name this truck The Truth (stretching the truth)
5 !/2 miles to the gallon. ....
Jesus.
Put the dizzy out of the 3500 in it for a test to see if it is a problem
Put big turbos on it guys fully sick chev.
I like that everyone around Mike is buying shoebox Chevys
Gawg frieburger us an absolutely atrocious mechanic LOL. Like dude you have one vac line to replace after yanking the intake and you can't manage ☠️😂☠️😂🤦🤦🤦
I want that truck! 😍😍
Great episode Redding Dragstrip two miles from my house
I wish I could find a truck like that. I love trucks I love four wheeling what’s better than towing a camper when I can just camp in the backseat of a truck that can fit a king mattress and load the four wheeler in the bed
Love you guys!!!
all they needed was to take the hood off.
How many MPGs did you guys get with that 454?
Do you think adding a new cam and heads would add maybe 50 or 60 HP?
I have a 454 from an old Suburban that is rusted out. But the engine still runs mint; plenty of oil pressure. No misfires etc.
the set I’m looking at is on Summit. It’s heads and cam for like $1,380
SO, HOW LONGS THE TRUCK, TRUCK N' TRAILER? SUPERCHARGE IT!!
That truck is awesome
QuadraBogs need love to in their old age too
Three Times Awesome`~!!!
Fun Episode !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hasn't still got the ballast wire under the dash has it. Had those before the ballast resister come along bolted beside the coil.
Oh yeah by the way I watched the snake and Mongoose race at Kingdon.
2 years in Lompoc, I'll die before I go back.
Do you think Mike could find a hat that fits him?
Two cases of Dunning-Kruger .....
that ruck needs a cummins! Thjat Greyhound bus had nothing on you! LOL Id love to see that fuel bill. BANGGG SHIFTTTT!
Do like that 56
Yes that car is awesome
And Redding!
Do I smell a field car VS blasphimi in the future 🤔
Clay Meidahl would rather watch BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN INSTEAD!!!
But mousie, though are no thy lain, for proving foresight is in vain, for best laid plans of mice and men gaing aft aglay, and leave us naught but grief and pain for promised joy. It was the only poem I ever learned, because I was forced to by a vicious grade 12 teacher 70 years ago.
The problem is, it has tuned out to be true in my case. I have had to learn to make plans, and not plan the outcome.
Dave McKinney
So it’s the Macho Grande 2.0 and blastphame 2.0 interesting 🧐
What's the odds on TWO bad sparkalators??🙄🤦
Those MSD boxes have always been junk. Went through a couple myself.
I raced over 15 years and never had a single problem.I used a 6-AL with street coil for cruising and switched to 7-AL2 and this small racing coil for racing itself. My Malibu ran mid nines with 538 8-71 blown bbc.Engine made so much torque it blew thru converter but since it was more street driven,I never bothered to switch to a race unit. With Hoosier 22.5/15/33 in back,it was unbeatable in traffic lights.
@@teknoaija1762 sounds like you had a good run. Me and the guys out in SanAntonio had a different experience.
Cracked dizzy cap.
Greetings from Redding!!!
Yes, my home track... 😎
It's a big block. Hilarious
It’s a Suburban with a bed. 😂
And the freiburger scrambler going to moab jeep episode
Is it grounded to the block.
Why is music at the end sooo awful and somehow fitting to Roadkill?
43:48 I wish the worst for this person
Cowboy Cadillac
man these guys have terrible luck with msd boxes lmao
Made in China MSD box, no wonder it dies. When will Companies learn.😂
